Again, no offense meant here. You need to understand where we're coming from.

SMITEFire has been highly criticized for years due to the amount of builds created by people that don't fully understand itemization, optimal item build order, or even the basic mechanics of how things like penetration, protections, and other things work.

Some of us have put out a lot of time and effort to provide quality guides to improve the level of content on the site. For me, it's taken me loads of time to first write and then maintain my conquest/assault/arena guides, my items guide, and my individual god guides.

First and foremost, SMITEFire is meant to be a resource for people looking for help to improve their game and knowledge. When new players aren't familiar with the site, they may just look to the newest builds, not read into much, and just try the build out. (If they don't read, that's sort of their fault too) But we want their experience and info provided to be as good as possible. Fun (but not good) builds don't really provide this. If you want troll builds, you have SMITE Troll for that.

Look, I like to have fun. And I will admit, going full MS Ama would definitely be fun. But it won't be effective, at least in the general sense of what would normally be considered effective. I'm guessing also that your comment of making "good" builds for the community isn't referring to this specific build, but rather is referring to some of your other guides.

To be fair, SMITE troll gives you random builds. Troll builds created by users have a specific purpose (movement speed in caseys case).

Troll builds should clearly be marked to not confuse new players.

That's true, but even for a troll build, this itemization sees massively reduced MS function from so many MS items, that even focusing on MS, it's inefficient.

Absolutely. Just wanted to generalize that troll builds-good or bad-should clearly be labeled in the title so new users arent misinformed.

Perhaps add a huge red box at the top of guides like these that say something like:

"This is a fun / meme build and is not intended for optimal play. Use it at your own discretion." or similar.

Archiving, as much as I too want to see this site's reputation rise up, kinda goes against the stance this site has promoted over the years, which is that it's open for anyone and everyone.

It's basically a damned if you, damned if you don't situation. If builds like this are allowed, then the prominent YouTubers either mock the site and its "terrible" builds or flat out tell their viewers not to come here. This also led to a troll fairly recently who posted a build he damned well knew wasn't viable in an attempt to further discredit the site and mocked the discussion that are engaged here. If builds like this aren't allowed, then the site gets a reputation of being elitist and only allowing "approved" builds to be posted. I personally think that any non-viable build that isn't meta should be stamped as either a troll build or as a just for fun build. That way people can post whatever build they want, but people looking for useful guides can see at a glance that the build(s) they're looking at won't necessarily work in most situations. I think having more editors with the power to tag builds with either of those labels would be useful, but there should be a way for the guide author to refute such a tag and have it reviewed by a mod.

Oh, and Casey, you've been here long enough to know that any non-meta build posted here is going to be commented on. It's nothing personal: I archived one of my builds because I need to go through and update it for the recent patches. I did this because I feel I have a responsibility to my readers to present information and builds that will work in most situations. Sure no two games are alike, but unless you're in a coordinated team against a coordinated team, build paths and item choices don't usually change all that much.

Hey casey. It's ok to have fun, but we dont want to spread misinformation. We dont want people who are new to smite to think certain builds are functional when they are only troll/just for fun builds. To be fair, you did mention in the title that this was just a "fun" build. However be a bit more explicit and mention this is a troll build.

Amaterasu is supposed to be played as a tanky bruiser. You dont have protections in this build, nor do you have enough cool down reduction to spam your abilities. I dont see this full movement speed build being very effective outside of trolling.

Hope you don't take any offense, as that was not my intention. Change the title of this build to clearly indicate its a troll build. branmuffin will have the final judgement about this build.

Actually, no offense, but I'd be surprised if you could be effective with this build. What is your definition of "effective"? No protections, almost no pen, only 75 total damage.

One major thing is that you're completely getting nailed by the diminishing returns from very high MS. Combined with her one stance's added MS, and...ugh...troll build, but not even a well thought out troll build, it's just "add any item with MS."

The build can work if your team is ahead, but just about any build can work then. Woes be you if your team is even or behind because you're more than likely not going to be making that big of an impact. That and any support worth their salt can easily slow you down enough to let your target get away.
