Skills

Astral Quiver

Type: Passive

Drop Chance: 30% + 1% per level
Max Drop Chance: 51% at level 20

Rama uses his force to create powerful arrows: The Astral Arrows. It generates an Astral Arrow every 12s. Also, every successful basic attack will reduce the time by 2s per arrow. These arrows are used with other abilities. You can stack up to 5 arrows. Every time Rama dies he respawns with all the arrows.
In addition, every time he uses these arrows there's a chance of dropping them on the ground and Rama may pick it to immediately gain an arrow.

TIPS AND HOW TO USE

Astral Strike

Type: Basic Attack Buff

Cooldown: 0 secs

Bonus damage 10/20/30/40/50
Slow per hit: 10% (Max 3 stacks)
Slow duration: 2secs
Cost: 15 mana + 1 Astral Arrow per shot

Rama changes his normal arrows to his powerful arrows: The Astral Arrows. After the change, Rama basic attacks go through walls, slows enemies, and pass through enemies too.

TIPS AND HOW TO USE

Infinite Arrows

Type: Attack speed buff

Cooldown: 15-11 secs

Attack speed increased: 40/45/50/55/60%
Attack speed duration: 5 secs

Rama focuses in kill the target so he increases his attack speed. After 3 successful hits, Rama gains an Astral Arrow.

TIPS AND HOW TO USE

Rolling Assault

Type: Dash

Cooldown: 11 secs

Bonus damage: 20/40/60/80/100 + 30% of your physical power + Your basic attack damage
Cripple duration: 1/1.25/1.5/1.75/2 secs

Rama Rama performs a roll in the direction he is currently moving. If there is at least 1 astral arrow stacked, the next basic attack will cause bonus damage and will cripple the enemy.

TIPS AND HOW TO USE

Astral Barrage

Type: AoE (Area of Effect) (Ultimate)

Cooldown: 90 secs

Damage per shot: 190/280/370/460/550 (+55% of your Physical Power)
Maximum damage: 484/714/943/1173/1402 (+135% of your Physical Power)

AoE 1st shot: 15
AoE 2st shot: 10
AoE 3st shot: 7.5

Rama uses all his forces to jump in the air becoming untargettable/immune to CC. While in the air he can shoot 3 powerful arrows increasing the damage after each shot (75%, 85%, 100%) and decreasing the area. Each time he generates or pick up an astral arrow this skill cooldown is reduced by 0.4 secs.

Tips and how to use

Skill Order

This skill order will provide high damage and a good clear wave.

Astral Quiver: As soon as possible stack some arrows

Astral Strike: Upgrade at levels 1 - 4 - 6 - 7 - 10 (1st priority)

Infinite Arrows: Upgrade at levels 3 - 8 - 11 - 12 - 15 (2nd priority)

Rolling Assault: Upgrade at levels 2 - 16 - 17 - 18 - 19 (3rd priority)

Astral Barrage: Upgrade at levels 5 - 9 - 13 - 17 - 20 (As soon as available)

Skills Combos

+

Assault Strike + Infinite Arrows

  • The usually fight combo.
  • You will use it often in your fights, Astral Strike will provide powerful basic attacks, and Infinite Arrows will make these attacks be fired faster.

+ +

Assault Strike + Rolling Assault + Infinite Arrows

  • The chase combo.
  • You will use it often to chase enemies that started a fight with you and retread using some escape such as Flutter. With this, you can keep chasing the enemy to kill him.

+ + +

Assault Strike + Rolling Assault + Infinite Arrows + Astral Barrage

  • The ultimate chasing combo.
  • You will use it often to chase enemies that started a fight with you and retread using some escape such as Flutter. With this, you can keep chasing the enemy to kill him, and if he escapes from your range you can use Astral Barrage to secure the kill (Kill secure = KS)

How to play

Early Game

  • Start with your support on your purple buff.
  • You are VERY WEAK at the beginning SO YOU MUST PLAY SAFE.
  • Try to clear the wave as soon as possible, and try to don't take damage from the wave. If the enemy cleared his wave first, retreat to your tower.
  • If you cleared the wave first put some pressure focusing the enemy ADC preferentially. But if the support is dying, kill him.
  • Try to don't start unnecessary fights until you have power, unless if you are ahead of enemy ADC.
  • In teamfights try to participate from some distance and run for your life if someone focuses on you.
  • PUT WARDS ON THE MAP to avoid be Ganked.
  • Poke your enemy as soon as possible but not too much or he will call for help and put you in serious trouble, mainly if the jungler is an early/mid-game character such as Ratatoskr.
  • FOCUS ON FARMING, you need to get big as soon as possible so every farm you see, do it if possible (camps or minions waves).
  • There isn't so much to do here. Just be careful to don't die. IF THE ENEMY GETS BIGGER THAN YOU, YOU WILL SUFFER, so be careful.
  • Ask for help every time you need it, and don't do anything that can compromise you.

DON'T CHASE AN ENEMY IF YOU ARE NOT SURE YOU'LL KILL. DON'T GO IF THE ENEMY HAVE TEAMMATES NEAR HIM.

Prefer to don't try and stay alive instead of dying trying and feed the enemy.

Mid Game

  • Now you become some sustainable with your lifesteal and do decent damage to enemies and towers.
  • Now it's time to become a little aggressive. You will see your basic attacks doing something like a 175~200 basic attack.
  • I recommend you start playing a little more aggressively, but not too much aggressive. Remember that your escape is good but CANNOT save you well from some good gank by multiple enemies.
  • REMEMBER THAT OBJECTIVES ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN KILLS, so it's time to start do your job, carry the game doing the objectives.
  • ALWAYS try to participate in teamfights now, 'cause your damage will make a big difference
  • Now it's a nice moment to start rotating to surprise enemies and blow them with your basic attacks.

Late Game

  • Time to group up.
  • You should be doing something around 300+ basic attack damages and crits make this even bigger (if you did.)
  • Enemies are afraid of you now (and they are right).
  • Enemies probably will focus you so stay close to your team and try do hit as many basic attacks as possible.
  • You can easily take down an entire phoenix, fire giant, gold fury... so time to group up and mainly focus on objectives.
  • Keep behind your teammates and help them as much as possible.

Builds

No-Crits Build

This build provides a great sustain while also keeping your DPS remarkably high against tanks, excellent to melt them. This build avoids rng from crits and specially Spectral Armor that will hurt your dps a lot, so, it offers quick access to attack speed, lifesteal and %pen and %prot reduction. It doesn't offer the strongest late game but still powerful and tanks will cry for your.

Get the The Ferocious Executioner as your glyph option hen you have 5+ items.

Toxic Blade is a replacement against lifesteal and HP regen in general. So if you are facing an Anubis, Freya, Aphrodite, etc., consider building it.

Crit Build

This build offers a good amount of power and good sustain at early game. It does melt quickly squishes and objectives like fire giant. Tanks may be a problem if they have spectral armor but else, they will be melted too. Use whenever you are looking for sustain during all game stages and a ridiculous strong late game against people that didn't build defenses/those that have defenses but no spectral.

Don't forget to check the notes on each build on the top!!!
They have very important information!!!

Situational Items

Situational Items

Understand the 4 steps and rush to the right item:
The 4 questions to be answered:
  1. What is the problem?
  2. What item I did (or I intend to do that) won't help me or isn't helping me with this problem?
  3. What is the best item below that better solves my problem?
  4. Will I lose something very important to this match changing this item?
If you answer all these questions in the right way, you will change the right item and the new one will help you a lot. Choose wisely!!!!!

To anyone who sees this I’m an Xbox player and I really like playing hunter but I’m can’t hit my shots worth a darn any advice to practice aim?

xmysterionz (71) | August 5, 2023 4:05pm
Unfortunately, there isn't much to do about it. You will have to play against players and start getting better at hitting it. When the target is moving, you have to always try to hit the place where you think he is going (predict it).

Besides, Griffonwing Earrings speeds up your projectile, so it indirectly makes it easier for you to hit it. Maybe you can try to fit it on your builds as like 3rd+ item to help you.

I haven't tried it or Rama yet however this is one of the best put together builds i have seen. Especially the fact that in the notes it explains what and how you should use each build rather than just throwing a bunch of items at people.

Let’s say you need antiheal right? What item would you normally take off your builds to put toxic blade in? That’s one thing I’ve always wondered
2
Kriega1 (143) | March 2, 2021 10:35am
Starter (e.g. cowl) > Devo's > Ninja > Berserker's / Exe > Fail-Not > Wind Demon > Hunter's Cowl / upgrade starter > boots for Shadowsteel. Crit (Fail-Not / Wind Demon) are the meta for patch 8.2, so you're 9/10 times probably not going Qins build and there's less reason to go antiheal with crit in the first place, but yeah you can get Shadowsteel as a boots replacement.

Also I’ve been building asi a looot, seems pretty good
1
SupportorFeed24 | March 2, 2021 2:11pm
I play siege a lot lately and depending on the comp I change my build. And devo can be hard to stack in that game but I know trans is useless on rama. So I do qins if they’re beefy bois. Mostly play other hunters like Apollo Bc i suck at building Rama but I’m going to give that build a try

How do you feel about Fail Not on him? Even if his ult lets him hit from far away meaning he might not get the proc on the passive, the added stats it provides might be super effect for him as a crit build?
1
xmysterionz (71) | August 17, 2020 5:23pm
I personally dislike fail not on Rama so I wouldn't even build it on him. The stats on Fail are good, however, you can get those stats from other items (except the CDR, but rama doesn't need CDR so whatever). If you want to build it anyway follow Kreiga's build right below.

Regarding ichaival vs O-bow in a crit build:

"Ichaival is more of an early game boxer item, although it definitely has its place against a high AA team. The value of O-Bow late game comes from its passive, wherein during a group fight, you are getting that dank chain lightning. Assuming a Hachi with a build of Devos, Executioner, Rage, Deathbringer, Wind Demon and O-Bow, you have 185 power, so each chain lightning hit is hitting for 126 damage, which given an attack speed value of 2.26 with your Wind Demon passive, is 285 extra DPS to all grouped up enemies around who you are hitting.

But I’m not saying Ichaival is worse, it does give you more straight DPS because of its power. It would be much better if you are going up against a Freya, Apollo, Baka, and Erlang for instance... but also might be overall better if you are fighting a lot of fragmented battles end game. If you are doing 5v5s tho (which you will most games) then O-Bow is better."

Branmuffin17 (394) | February 5, 2020 10:29am
This writeup is nice overall. It accounts for different factors of individual and group damage, and gives credit to Ich for its passive situationally helping.

So yeah, in a teamfight, O-Bow will likely end up doing more overall damage assuming the passive chains fully, but as that person said, Ich gives better straight DPS due to the power. In the case where you want to burst your target down as quickly as possible so you can eliminate their threat in a fight, Ich is the better option.

Consider one other thing that wasn't mentioned...Ich giving up to 75 power is also a consideration for higher ability damage. Yes, we're focusing on basic attack DPS here, but this doesn't mean we don't use abilities here and there.
1
Kriega1 (143) | February 5, 2020 10:43am
A lot of the times you're going to initiate with damaging abilities before you AA though.

For your crit build i dont think ichaival is the right choice as a last item. With ichaival you stack up power with autos but with crit you want to kill as fast as possible so you dont need to hit a lot. I think a winddemon would be way better for your build as it still provides good attack speed but increases your crit chance and has way better synergy with the rest of your build.
1
xmysterionz (71) | February 3, 2020 4:59am
Well, both can be good options but I personally prefer ichai for 2 reasons:
I feel my builds lack power without it because Devo don't offer as much power as Trans and the other items also don't help with it so Ichai solve this making crits hit like a truck and another thing is the boxing potential. At late game I doubt someone can trade basics with you and ichai just make this even easier to you removing the enemy AS.

If I would build wind demon (that is also a good item), I would swap Asi for Bloodforge to remain with some decent power.
1
Branmuffin17 (394) | February 3, 2020 10:08am
I think both of you make good points, but I feel ich is fine in both crit and Qin's builds. I think it's often underrated.

im a little confused as your core item say you get some mana attack speed lifestel and power off of them but you have warrior tabi as your choice of boots which makes your core neither have attack speed nor mana.
1
xmysterionz (71) | December 6, 2019 7:51am
Oopss, I used to build Ninja Tabi on him, but I swap to warrior recently and forgot to change it :P
However, both can be functional.
Fixed, thanks.

You don't really need exe because by that point the support usually rotates to other lanes.
