Introduction

Do you hear that distant rumble. Well, that is the sound of your enemies cowering in fear at the mention of your incredible power. Cabrakan, used right, WILL destroy everything even if you play with NO power. Keep that in mind and think about what could happen if you have a strong build for any game mode made to walk strait through a Kukulkan ultimate to the face and shrug it off afterwards. Yeah, its fun to think about. Even more fun to do.

Build Modifications

If the enemy team doesn't have any gods with powerful auto attack damage switch Hide of the Nemian Lion for Mystical Mail

If the enemy team has high heal potential switch Bulwark of Hope for Pestilence

If the enemy team doesn't have very good CC switch Reinforced Shoes for Shoes of Focus

If your team is really weak in health or defense switch Hide of the Nemian Lion for Sovereignty and Bulwark of Hope for Heartward Amulet

If your natural CC is sufficient switch (or you just need damage more) Gem of Isolation for Spear of the Magus

Also you will notice that the starter items section of this build only costs a total of 1200 gold. This is because of the wide variety of actives that can be used on Cabrakan. See "CABRAKAN'S Active Items" if you need help deciding what to get.

CABRAKAN'S Active Items

With Cabrakan the key to choosing the right actives is to see what best sets up your Tremors ability. Late game Tremors will be your main source of minion and jungle clear as well as a reliable damage ability. However when you use Tremors you are rooted in place. This can give the enemy an opportunity to attack you. Use your actives as a counter to this situation. If in a particular match you are taking a lot of damage while using Tremors build for Shield of the Underworld and Enfeebling Curse. If you are having trouble with CC or getting in and out of a fight build Combat Blink and Greater Purification. If you are using Tremors in a jungle situation build Wrath of the Gods to help secure camps and objectives. ALWAYS USE WRATH OF THE GODS IN CONQUEST! NEVER get any form of Sprint with Cabrakan. His Seismic Crush gives him a speed boost and immunity to slows/ roots.

Useful Tactics/ Strategies

In group fights and other situations where you take huge damage DO NOT use Refraction Shield unless completely necessary because by level 10 it will be giving you +40 physical and magical protections until used

Tectonic Shift is most effective in the jungle because it can block off a whole escape route for the enemy

combo Tectonic Shift with Tremors to trap enemies within the radius.

CC chain your Seismic Crush with Refraction Shield (at max stacks) for 2.5 seconds of stun at max level (2 seconds at lowest level).

while you have Gem of Isolation even 1 tick of damage from Tremors will slow your enemies. This is useful while chasing an enemy

Tectonic Shift is useful as both a peel and a defense, particularly against auto attack based opponents.

Using Refraction Shield incurs no movement penalty on you. This makes it great for hitting enemies who are to fast to hit with auto attacks while chasing. This will also slow them if you have Gem of Isolation.

Remember that if you are working with a Cabrakan and you find it hard to target enemies withing his Tremors you should target their name tag rather than their character model. My brother developed this strategy from working with me.

Faint attacks with Cabrakan are deadly if done right. If you can bait out all stuns, silences and mesmerizes before performing an actual assault you can then use your Seismic Crush to get in quickly without worrying about roots or slows. (only do this if you have Reinforced shoes or it could end badly)

Team Composition

While Cabrakan has all of the characteristics of a good tank he can be difficult to support with. The Tremble effect on his Tremors ability can make it hard for allies to target gods inside the area. This leads to a lot of unintentional kill steals. Avoid this by either canceling your ability early with the right mouse button or to have a compatible ally. As examples Kali, Anhur and Vulcan are good at countering this effect. If Kali is on your team her bleed effect will help counter your Damage over time (DOT), giving her the kill. Anhur can use your ult as a wall for his Impale ability, often giving him the kill. Vulcan's Inferno Cannon never misses, allowing him to get kills while Tremors is in progress. Also, any god with high damage area of effect (AOE) attacks has potential to work with Cabrakan.

Healers are all very effective with Cabrakan by their side. His AOE CC allows them to focus on healing others when necessary. Also, Cabrakan has NO natural sustain. This is not a problem really because his defensive capabilities are so high that he can escape very well but having a good healer will allow him stay in combat for unnaturally long periods of time. My first choice for a healer would be Cupid. This is primarily because he is an ADC, instantly making him a perfect conquest partner. Also, Cabrakan can set up his ult very well with his hard CC. If not in conquest a high AOE healer is best. My suggestions would be Hel or Guan Yu so they can heal allies as well as you at the same time.

Cabrakan can be an invaluable asset in teams with low Health/ Defense. First of all his passive, Shadow Zone gives 5% reduced damage to all allies around him. Also his speed boost and hard CC's allow him to quickly come to the aid of an ally in trouble and cover their escape.

What to look out for

Nemesis is so annoying because this build is rigged towards health and her ult will strait up half it. However, you can counter this by using Shield of the Underworld the second you enter combat with her. This should do about 2095 damage back to her.

Hel is not so much dangerous but watch out for the CC immunity. Counter this by spacing out your Seismic Crush and Refraction Shield to guarantee a stun.

Why these items?

I've had some comments asking about some of my item choices. In this section I will address them individually and explain.

Boot Choice I always use the reinforced shoes. I got a a few comments suggesting that I change this to Shoes of focus. I hold to my decision based on 2 factors. First of all Cabrakan doesn't need Cool Down Reduction (CDR) if you use his abilities right given their long execution time. Second, this build is meant to be usable against a more wide variety of enemies. The Reinforced shoes add CC reduction and health. Not only does this make him more viable in team fights, but also powers up his Etheral Staff with the added health. That noted, if the enemy team has low CC use, yes, use Shoes of Focus because the CDR can be helpful. (but in my opinion not as helpful as CC reduction in most situations)

Defense Items I've recieved multiple comments about Heartward Amulet and Sovereignty. People have said I should use them instead of my chosen defense items. With any other tank I would agree but in Cabrakan's case I would stand by Hide of the Nemian Lion and Bulwark of hope. Once again they both power up Ether Staff by a large amount. Also the reason you would get Heartward Amulet and Soverignty is to aid you team in defending themselves. First of all, Cabrakan does that naturally with his passive. Second, if you use his Tremors correctly you can cover just about any escape. That said Tremors roots you. Also it is infamous for attracting attention. In this case the passive effects of my choices actually make them more effective than the other options unless your team is really squishy. In that scenario, yes, I would not hesitate to change my build for Heartward Amulet and Sovereignty as I had noted previously in my "Build Modifications" section of this guide.

Oh look. Walrus is here to wreck havoc to this build as usual.

Firstly, this is not purely a support build. I would otherwise say so.

Also, by exchanging heartward and sovereignty for nemean and bulwark it gives Cabrakan more effectiveness diving into the enemy team and applying CC. It also gives him more survivability so he can initiate without taking as much damage.

The CCR boots also helps fighting on the frontline.

Supports also don't need Heartward Amulet or Sovereignty, their simply what most people find most effective in both providing protections, health, and a useful aura. You can build other items and do just fine if you don't want to passively exist, although you wouldn't be as helpful for your team just standing there anymore. On Cabrakan, that just means he wants more effect out of wading into the middle of battle and using his abilities.
