Hiya and welcome to my arena guide for Camazotz!
I love to play Camaztoz and he was the first god that I got to diamond, so he holds a special place in my heart. I have over 2000 worshippers on him now and still play him quite often. I've played with multiple builds and this is the one that I like best.
I hope you enjoy!
PROS
Vampirism buff (up to 14% without items)
Amazing sustain with passive
High amounts of damage
Can see invisible enemies with first ability
CONS
Limited run away abilities
Very squishy
Only CC immunity is Ult
Can die before ult is used
1. Warrior's Tabi
Pretty understandable, gives a boost of physical power and Camazotz doesn't really need attack speed so it overrules Ninja's Tabi
2. Transcendence
A necessity for Camaztoz. He is super mana hungry early game so Transcendence helps with that plus gives some extra power.
3. Heartseeker
Probably Camazotz's most valuable item. This gives a boost to an ability after using 5 basic attacks. Pair this with his second ability for some major damage.
4. Stone Cutting Sword
Pretty understandable as well, it removes protections from enemies while you gain them. Helps against tanks and warriors.
5. Deathbringer
Now it's time to build critical. Paired with his abilites, Camazotz's basic attacks that critical hit will dish out tons of damage. Deathbringer is a good choice for critical chance plus damage.
6. Poisoned Star
I like Poisoned Star over Wind Demon because it reduces enemies damage output by 20%. If you're facing another assassin or a hunter that can really turn the tide and put the battle in your favor.
Now time for skills.
Passive: Essence Drinker
Anytime a god dies on the battlefield, a pool of their essence is left behind. If Camazotz stands on this pool, he will gain a small percentage of Mana and Health every .5 seconds. He also starts off with 5% physical lifesteal and increased healing.
1. Screech
Screech is a line ability that will "echo" off an enemy god (if hit) and pass through minions. If Camaztoz catches the echo, he will gain a boost in physical power. He also gains vision of the god that was hit for 15 seconds.
This is a great poke and a great way to keep an eye on an enemy that you want to keep in your sights. This is a great ability to use on a Loki or Izanami or any other god that can disappear.
2. Vampire Bats
This is his most useful ability. Vampire bats is another line ability that hits a single target. If hit, the target is slowed for 3 seconds and is dealt initial damage, plus damage over time. At the end of the damage over time, the bats fly back to Camazotz, healing him.
What makes this ability special is if you use this ability on a Large Jungle Monster, they will be marked and you will gain a buff of 3% Physical lifesteal and healing that can stack 3 times. SO if you mark 3 jungle monsters you gain 9% lifesteal and healing, plus your inital 5% from your passive, which adds up to 14% lifesteal and healing just from your passive.
3. Devour
Devour is your get away ability. He can leap through walls and structures (like Odin's ultimate) and he heals himself for every enemy that he lands on.
4. Bat out of Hell
Finally, Camazotz's ultimate ability is Bat out of Hell. Camazotz flies into the air four 4 seconds and may swoop down up to three times to deal damage. He will land on the third swoop. If more than one enemy god is hit, the damage will be increased per god. Camazotz is also CC immune during this ability but can die before it is completely activated.
This is a great ability to pop during a team fight, as the enemies will be bunched together and you can take advantage of the extra damage, or this can be used to chase down a low health enemy on the run.

Since we're all over here advocating items that boost ability damage over crits (because Camazotz is ability based), I did some tests which you'd be interested in. I left a majority of your build the same so we can have an adequate control and to more easily highlight differences.
Both builds were tested on a level 20 Camazotz vs. a level 20 Artemis bot. An elixer of defense was used.
Build 1: Crits
Warrior Tabi
Transcendence - fully stacked
Heartseeker - fully stacked before each test
Stone Cutting Sword
Rage - fully stacked
Deathbringer
Build 2: Ability based
Warrior Tabi
Transcendence - fully stacked
Heartseeker - fully stacked before each test
Stone Cutting Sword
Hydra's Lament
The Crusher
Combo: Devour > basic attack > Vampire Bats > basic attack
For build 1 (one regular basic attack and one critical hit basic attack)
Devour: 324 (201 mitigated)
Heartseeker passive: 135 (84 mitigated)
basic attack (crit): 510 (316 mitigated)
Vampire Bats 332 (172 mitigated)
basic attack 236 (123 mitigated)
Total: 1537 damage
For build 1 (two critical hit basic attacks)
Devour: 324 (201 mitigated)
Heartseeker passive: 135 (84 mitigated)
basic attack (crit): 510 (316 mitigated)
Vampire Bats 332 (172 mitigated)
basic attack (crit): 543 (283 mitigated)
Total: 1844 damage
For build 2
Devour: 363 (170 mitigated)
Heartseeker passive: 155 (72 mitigated)
basic attack: 376 (177 mitigated)
Vampire Bats: 375 (139 mitigated)
basic attack: 404 (149 mitigated)
Damage from The Crusher's passive: 44 (18 mitigated)
Total: 1717 damage
Note: I didn't bother to add up the tick damage from Vampire Bats nor did I bother to do a scenario for the crit build where neither basic was a critical hit. I figured it wasn't needed to demonstrate my point.
TL;DR: Camazotz gets more functionality out of spamming his abilities instead of utilizing crits.
TO give a max CDR, full damage, ability based build a try, replace your Stone Cutting Sword with Jotunn's Wrath and your crit items with Hydra's Lament and The Crusher.
The other part of looking at a basic attack build is finding out just how much damage you can do if you're able to continue basic attacking. This will help average basic attack damage with regard to crit chance, and see your general potential with the combination of all items. Note that the 1st build has 0 attack speed items. So the crits are going to make a difference if you get lucky on RNG, but it's not like you're going to be able to burst them down with a focus on basics...it'll have to be a mix of abilities and basics, and after you use your abilities, your continued basic attack DPS is going to suffer due to lack of AS.
Anyway, the bigger difference in your damage was probably the additional presence of The Crusher in the 2nd build. You have SCS in both, but add additional pen via Crusher...there's likely your answer for the mitigation difference.
You shouldn't use the elixir also when doing comparisons. You want to see how a build would do against a normal squishy.
To reiterate, I'm referring to the build 2 test where
first basic attack: 376 (177 mitigated)
Vampire Bats: 375 (139 mitigated)
The crusher's flat pen applies to both of these attacks, so it can be disregarded. However, It was the SCS's passive from the basic attack that allowed Vampire Bats to do more damage. So the -10 reduction from SCS allowed for extra ~38 damage from Vampire Bats.
2) Without elixer of defense, Artemis at level 20, even though she's a bot, will 2 shot you. But again, the elixer of defense has no influence on your damage output, so it was very safe to use.
3) Essentially, all I wanted to show OP was that Camazotz is an ability based assassin who wants to go in, do damage, and get out. For a damage build, he'd benefit the most from building high CDR, a lot of penetration items, and other ability based items like Hydra's Lament for the CDR/passive. Camazotz's abilities do great base damage and have excellent scaling, so it would be very beneficial to build him ability based.
If all OP wanted to do was slow the enemy down with Vampire Bats, jump in with Devour, and start boxing, then he can build crits - even more so if he likes gambling with % chance of critical hits. However, he is losing out on a lot of functionality with this playstyle.
I just wanted to reiterate our steam discussion in case OP ever comes back.
As for the rest of your info, yup yup, makes sense.
Swap.out your crit items for jotunns wrath and brawlers beat stick/ the crusher and try that build out. Let me know what you think.
Improved Camazotz Arena build: Warrior Tabi, Transcendence, Brawler's Beat Stick, Jotunn's Wrath, Void Shield, Mantle of Discord.
No crit on Cama!!!! , no stone-cutting sword as he is mainly ability-based. Alternative items you can pickup: Hydra's Lament, Heartseeker, Titan's Bane, Ancile, Bloodforge, Breastplate of Valor, Spirit Robe, Magi's Cloak, Gladiator's Shield.
Id go warrior tabi
Trans
Jotunns
Mantle/heartseeker
Heartseeker/Brawlers beat stick
Mantle of discord/brawlers
And id prefer heartseeker over void shield
Hiya4210, just an FYI, I'm archiving this for now. If you come back, and want to republish (consider some of these comments), you are welcome to do so.
@OP, it seems you're going for a basic attack build. Consider some attack speed/pen items like the executioner.
I dont know why you think hydras lament is super amazing since cama doesn't have anything in his kit to augment an auto attack cancel. For example, hun batz passive allows him a bonus crit chance after using an abiltiy. Hydras lament pairs very well with that. Lokis ultimate guarantees him an extra auto attack at his target's back. Hydras pairs well with that. Tell me what camazots has?
So lets do some simple calculation. Lets assume OP gets rage instead of poison star for a larger crit chance. Lets assume this combo: ability/ AA cancel / ability/ AA cancel. Lets assume the first AA cancel crits and the second one does not. With rage and deathbriner your damage becomes:
Ability+2.25+Ability +1
With hydras lament, it becomes
Ability+1.5+ability+1.5
If he's boxing an ADC, how is hydras lament gonna help him out if some of his abilities are down?
Im certainly not advocating crits on camazots. The math was oversimplified and you'll probably get similar damage numbers with hydras lament + a penetration item vs deathbringer + rage. This build isnt as ridiculous as you're making it out to be since this guide IS for arena. Can it be improved? Absolutely. Is it viable? As bran mentioned, it only works against poorly enemies with below avg to avg skill.
But agreed...crit is just not an optimal direction for Cama who is straight up an ability-based god.
