Welcome to my supportive Ganesha build! This build is very viable for all game modes but of course situational items and modifications are needed for various team comps, friendly and enemy alike.
The standard build I've suggested above Is my go to build for Ganesha. It has enough defense, auras, and cooldown to make sure your Ganesha can stay in a team fight and help your team!
The first anomaly you might notice is the use of 3 starter items. This is a personal preference as I feel Mark of the Vanguard early game helps me give the extra defense I need and Is a valuable power spike that early in the game.
However, that is a preference, If you want you can just build into a Gauntlet of Thebes earlier.
Secondly, you may notice I put Travellers boots in my build. That is mostly for Conquest games, the extra speed and health regen is invaluable in conquest as a rotating support. The few extra seconds gained can be the matter of victory or defeat. However for smaller maps like Joust Shoes of Focus would perhaps be more beneficial due to the cooldown and extra mana.
I suggest for all supportive characters to build Lono's mask. The gained 400 gold from getting your stacks and additional health is very helpful. However, this has one downside. Going Watcher's gift AND Lono's mask means you can only buy a total of 4 potions. I think Watcher's gift makes up for that lack of potions but each to his own.
Next, Shogun's Kusari is optional due to the team comp, If your team is less reliant on auto attack's I would build Heartward instead or perhaps Genji's for that needed cooldown.
Spirit Robe is also a situational item. If the enemy team is more melee oriented you might want to get Mantle of Discord. This could be used to stun a Loki from pursuing you for example. I would suggest using either Spirit Robe or Mantle due to the fact It gives extra cooldown and In the case of Spirit robe, CC reduction and Mitigation. It's true Hide of the Urchin gives more defense overall (after stacks completion) but I find the lack of utility makes it less useful. Lastly, Magi's blesing just does not give enough defense but It can be situationally handy versus an Ares / Dai Ji team for the extra purification effect.
Finally, as for relics, I would suggest Magic shield as a constant since Meditation recent nerfs have made Magic shield in comparison quite strong or another situational relic like Phantom (less useful since Ganesha's dash goes through Odin walls but can help your team) or Purification for CC heavy teams. The second relic would be what you prefer.
