Notes
Void Shield is a very important part of this build because it provides an additional 20 Physical Protection along with another 24 reductions from his 2 Flurry. Jotunn's Wrath is a very important item in this kit do to the fact that it gives 40 power for the extra damage, 150 mana for extended stays out in the jungle, 10 physical penetration to help kill a little bit easier, and a whopping 20% cooldown reduction this all for a healthy price of 2350 gold. Its very cost effective for power spikes early on and Is highly recommended to be picked up after you finish Acorn of Yggdrasil. Now to your acorn your acorn are your "Boots" They are the best boots in the game to with 20% movement speed and 50 power. That means you have 2% more Speed and 10 more power along with the acorns passive that heals you whenever you hit something with an abillity which is 15 + 15% of your physical power.

Notes This build includes great items that work in most occasions with a good power curve into the late game. It has the early Void Shield followed by Jotunn's Wrath to give tons of early pressure and gank potential. This also allows you to Jungle Fight fairly easily. Then you have brawlers for more pen and more power which is all around very helpful. You also have Ancile which is amazing for mid ganks so you don't get shredded and finally Spirit Robe which is all around a great item for diving back lines in a team fight.

Hello there and welcome to my Ratatoskr guide for Conquest Jungle recently Ratatoskr has come into my sight because of his built in shred and high damage along with so much mobility because of his semi-global ultimate. In this somewhat small guide it contains some useful information including but not limited build ideas and recommendations, how to use his mobility, his match-ups, and other random tid-bits.

all 4 of his abilities deal damage
he has an auto attack chain ending in an aoe attack
and has "tier 1 boots" at the start of the game with his passive

Ratatoskr has 4 abilities like the average god in smite. They consist of a dash, a cone, a circle aoe around player, and a leap circle aoe.

5. Situational Items


Oni Hunter's Guard Is a great item to get a decent amount of magical protections for really cheap. It also gives you percentage mitigation if there are enemy gods around you which makes it nice to dive back lines with.

Magi's Cloack If you are getting cced to high heaven i suggest you pick one of these bad bois up it give you some health, mana, and protections but it also absorbs 1 hard cc every 90 seconds which makes it extremely useful for diving back lines so you cannot get cc chained as easily.

Brawler's Beat Stick If they have a god with a good amout of life steal or a healer you are going to want to pick this up 3rd or 4th item to help keep them under control. It also provides some pen and power to help you shred down your enemies a little easier. This item is good for your team not just you so dont hesitate picking it up if its needed.

Titan's Bane This item is good if you need more pen when the enemy team is building more tank or to help take out those pesky support and solo players.

6. Jungle Matchups

In this section of the guide Ratatoskrs different matchups with other junglers will be compared so you can somewhat know what to expect. There will also be a threat level at the end of each Section this will be from 1 to 10 with 1 being easy you can walk right over them to 10 being they are going to walk right over you.

7. Team Fighting

Ratatoskr in this guide has a reoccurring theme of building tanky because that really helps him dive under tower and fight overall. I play a really aggressive rat that I Like to build tanky because his ability base stats are already really high. So to start off team fighting you must know what your roles is in it whether that be diving back line engaging or disengaging a team fight. This will usually be chosen before the team fight begins. So once you know that you must choose who am I going to destroy today whether that be an adc or mage its up to you. Then you must know how youre going to destroy them with your teams help of course. You can ult into the back lines or front line to engage the more people you cc with it the better cause that gives your team a better position to attack. Make sure you have youre ultimate up before a team fight because it is a very powerful tool for them. And finally make sure you comunicate what you are doing with your team so you are not alone in the enemy back lines cause that isnt going to work out very well for you.

Ratatoskr is a wonderful god who can do everything. For the most part at least he is great an amazing ult for engaging and disengaging a great dash. He is best built hybrid and its so good on him that way he also does alot of damage and void shield is sexy on him.

I would not start Mace at the start. You need tier 3 acorn as soon as possible before starting anything else. The passive/damage/movement speed is too crucial for him and allows him to have the best early Jungle in the game. I'd also argue that Crusher is a core item, as the attack speed/passive the item provides really shines on Ratatoskr. Very good build overall though!

My start typically looks like this: Acorn of Swiftness > Assassin's Blessing > Healing Potion x1
You can also start without Assassin's Blessing and get Acorn of Yggdrasil after clearing your Speed Camp. You would then get the Assassin's Blessing on the first back when you go to repeat your cycle.

I dont really care for the high pressure early gank start on rat it isn't how I like to play him but it is a good start im just basing this build on what i prefer.

Item choices seems very solid although I strongly disagree that Ancile is a "niche choice", since this item is the only magical defenses that provides both magical def and physical power that is useful along all the game and/or team fights.

I like also your effort on make a matchup description comparing rat with other junglers, even though this description is very quickly.

Anyway +1.

What game mode is this for? If it's conquest and this is a jungle build do not get Hide of the Urchin on Ratatoskr please.

Any reasoning behind this? What if you have a mage solo laner? Branmuffin thought it was ok.

Because the jungler is not the frontliner hence why you shouldn’t be building it. You don’t build near enough tanky to get good use from it.

Better option in most cases is to go bruiser. Protection items with some offensive utility. Urchin doesn't have this.

If I were personally to get urchin, my pref would be to get it as the only protection item, or maybe this + void and the rest being offensive.

Thing is, when you're a role looking to pressure/gank, you usually want your item choices to make you a larger threat...so anything with more power/pen are good. This is why that Void Shield + Ancile combo is so popular right now...some power to go with prots. Urchin can make you a different kind of threat, being able to stick around in a fight for longer periods of time, but it doesn't do anything for your damage output.

I like the item suggestions. Build is overall good, but is probably a bit TOO tanky. Okami/TheZodiacWolf had a very similar build for his Fenrir, but BranMuffin thought it was a little too tanky.
Nice guide, looking forward to the completed product.

What do you think about replacing Hide of the Urchin with Masamune and getting Masamune third? The movement speed could help you jg, and you may appreciate the extra power?

If there's any replacing in that build, I feel it's perhaps better to replace Shifter's Shield. I'd consider Brawler's Beat Stick, perhaps.

3 items with physical protection for a bruiser assassin IS a bit much in my opinion unless highly pressured...and Shifter's basically counts as a 4th.

He will appreciate the extra health from Urchin, and the shield, which will work well for him since he usually will get in, deal some damage, and then back off a bit. But it could be replaced... Bulwark of Hope on the defensive side, or Ancile a bit more aggressively.

But overall, not a bad build.
