Introduction / Build Explanation

Hello everyone. I want to teach you all my beautiful Zeus Build.
Just to let you guys know, the strategy for this build is to burst all of your damage, and use your 1, 3, and basic attacks in a specific order to do around 1200+ damage per burst (though it isn't really a burst since it's not THAT fast, but it's still pretty fast if you pull it off correctly.
First, you want to get Vampiric Shroud, and start building to Polynomicon. This is for lifesteal. Then build to Bancrofts Talon for a balance of lifesteal and power. The follow along with the build, getting standard items like Chronos Pendant and Rod of Tahuti (in that order), and then build up to Hastened Fatalis for attack speed and movement speed (this works well with your 2 as a getaway. Finally, you need to finish the build by selling Vampiric Shroud, and build up to Demonic Grip for some power and attack speed.

This works well early game as well as end game.

Strategy for Attacking

What I usually do when I'm facing an Anubis, or other common Middle Laners, is that I use Chain Lightening (1), and then hit a few basic attacks, and buff myself with the Aegis Shield (2) to chase them down, since it gives you movement speed, and hit them with a basic attack the whole time (other than when I'm chasing them, I save them for when I'm in range). Once I've hit around 5 or 6 basic attacks, I use Detonate Charge (3) to finish them off.
His Ultimate (Lightening Storm) is a good finisher too.

I actually enjoy using Hastened Fatalis on zeus (although I wouldn't do that in league conquest, i would probably swap it for Spear of the Magus like like diomedes said). However, Hastened Fatalis has the added benefits of allowing you to rotate faster and get Demonic Grip's stacks faster as well.

However, I have two major problems with this build. One is that you don't have Shoes of Focus or Shoes of the Magi. Movement speed is essential no matter what god you're playing, and the 10% from Hastened Fatalis isn't enough. It's fine to get a lifesteal item first, but you really do need one of the branches of Shoes (I'd recommend swapping out Polynomicon or Bancroft's Talon, I personally use bancrofts).

Second is build order. Rod of Tahuti is truly a late game item, with its passive benefiting the most from the other items in the build. Building this item 4th reduces its passive until you're at full build and leaves a huge gap in your power while you try to amass 3320g. Get this item 5th or 6th. Also, if you're going to get Hastened Fatalis, get it early while you can still utilize its rotation potential.

Cheers

Well I see exactly what you mean, but I prefer to play more offensively. Thanks though :D !

For zeus you really don't want to get caught out of position because he has no real escape and once you hit the ranked to competitive scene this starts becoming more apparent so having an item specifically to chase might not be the best idea as chasing for kills usually will get you killed. Instead I would say you should focus more on either magical power or defense to replace Fatalis like the spear of the Magus is amazing on Zeus as his chain lightning can apply full stacks on 2 people grouped up and then proc the max pen hit followed by the max pen detonate. Along with that with the spear and demonic after a few hits you could be dealing near true damage to tanks!
