I've been playing Bakasura for a while now, with him being my first assassin. I am a big fan of Duel and playing either the solo or jungle role in Conquest. While this build is specifically for the solo role, it can easily be modified as this build will give you plenty of movement speed and power which is definitely required as you need to be everywhere at once in the laning phase. Keep in mind I am nowhere near a professional so everything I say could just be a lie. Also I have learned most of my knowledge on the topic of smite from the youtubers and streamers TydeTyme, Weak3n, and Raynday Gaming.
Now this build as you see it may look a little weird as it doesn't build boots relatively early. While this is out of meta, building the way I show gives you just as much movement speed, crits, attack speed, and wave clear, which Bakasura desperately needs help with early game. I have divided my information on these items into core, the essential items, and situaltional.
The core items for this build are as follows; Golden Bow, Hastened Fatalis, A Lifesteal Item, and both Talaria and Warrior Boots (Tabi)
Purpose: This will explain why these items are essential
Golden Bow: Awesome item, gives you early damage spike, movement speed lucky crits and most importantly and the reason you have it, is WAVECLEAR. Absolutely essential first item! MAKE SURE TO SWITCH OUT LATE GAME
Hastened: Also an essential item for Bakasura as he is auto based. This lets him keep up with his opponents as he autos them as the passive cancels out the movement speed penalty when auto attacking. also gives movement speed.
Talaria and Warrior: This is really your choice. While the power spike from warriors is obviously higher Talarias passive is amazing. By the time I buy these boots I'm usually rotating constantly and therefore the extra movement speed to me is key. 14% extra on top of his passive and the first two items makes this god crazy fast. SWITCH OUT TO WARRIOR AFTER BUILD IS COMPLETED HOWEVER!!!!
Executioner: This item helps to shred the tankier units of the team. Its simple, you need pen or reduction
Lifesteal: While not exactly CORE persay I am throwing this in there as this is usually my 4th item but can be traded out for defense or utility if needed... This item is your choice. Personally I recommend devs gauntlets because even though yes I KNOW auto attack god attack speed blah blah blah he already has decent attack speed from hastened and his passive. Bloodforge is also a good pickup in my eyes. These two items helps to bring your power online.
These Items are to be picked up last as they are mainly luxury and just help you to hone your killing and destructive abilities. I am listing these in the order that I would most likely use them.
Deathbringer: Simple. It lets you kill the **** out of people. Especially if you trade out golden bow for rage your basic attack dps can get over 900.
Qin's Sais: When you play that team that has say 3 tanks or 2 warriors and a guardian for some reason. This item becomes a CORE item.
Rage: Look up above at killing people...
Stone Cutting Sword: I would use this item if I felt slow for some ungodly reason. But in all seriousness, the only need for this is to make a trio with Executioner and Qin's Sais as this will make you shred tanks like they are squishy assassins. LIKE YOU ARE.
This is a last ditch resort as your first option as an assassin when faced with an opponent that knows how to fight you is to play safer and smarter when fighting. But if you reach the point where you need defense, you should only ever get 1 item with Bakasura as getting more than that will take away his ability to hyper-carry with massive amounts of damage. Being alive is no good if you don't put fear into anyone.
Frostbound Hammer: This item is and will always be great for auto attack based gods. It is in the defensive category as it currently (3.6) gives 300 health. The passive to this ability is just as important as it literally traps your opponents in your basic attacks. Paired with Hastened Fatalis and you will never have anyone outrun your basics.
Mantle of Discord: This item is great. It gives you a good amount (60) of both physical and magical protections. It can also get you out of a sticky situation with its passive, and 15% CDR can never be understated. All in all, good item.
Bulwark of Hope: 60 magical Protections, Low health shield very useful. 200 health. Also a very good item.
Winged Blade: Only Pick up if you are getting slowed a lot as this gives you health and periodic immunity to slows.
This is pretty much only for the first 10 minutes of the game as after that point you should be farmed up enough to start rotating regularly and the game is variable then. Now you must remember and this is very important. BAKASURAS EARLY GAME IS ****. It sucks. you cant move around or sustain well, and if you take too much minion damage you can screw yourself and fall behind. No matter what I tell you in the next few paragraphs you must keep this at the forefront of your mind.
Starter: Start with Throwing Dagger and 2 health 2 mana pots. Some people say health and multi pots but you have a heal and you need mana a lot early game. If you are soloing the relic you choose first MUST BE TELEPORT. You have no backup to defend your lane. You need it.
As the game starts: Take the mid camps with your Jungler. With the new buff to Bakasura you should always be able to eat atleast one of these. After this take the Blue buff, say thanks to your nice jungler and then head to the solo lane. Clear the first wave. AT THIS POINT.... It is decision time. If your opposite solo is slow to the lane and you can see the enemy jungler in Middle Lane or if they are calling out locations on comms that he is there then you can choose to steal your enemy's boar. To do this simply use your eat minion ability and take the fire elementals and then head back to clear the next wave. After this take your own boar. Rinse and repeat.
First Back: When to back is the most important. I back with this build in two different situations. When either my jungler ganks the lane and we get a kill. You need atleast 1600+ gold to back and make it worth it in this situation. Next situation. When you gain atleaast 2000+ gold and push the solo laner out of lane. Back immediately and pick up the rest along with as much of boots as possible. Now every time you back you should be picking up 2 wards. For this time pick up 2 regular wards and 2 mana pots, but after this pick up 1 regular ward and 1 sentry (if you can afford to). You should be sentrying the FG when it spawns.
