Hades Build

Shoes

Build Item Shoes of the Magi Shoes of the Magi

CDR

Build Item Spear of Desolation Spear of Desolation

Defense Combo 1

Notes In Arena, I like combo 1 over combo 2 because you don't have to stack, and you come online quicker (more ability spamming) due to rushing Breastplate of Valor.

Build Item Breastplate of Valor Breastplate of Valor
Build Item Void Stone Void Stone

Defense Combo 2

Notes This combo makes you more tanky, but it's very slow, and a bit risky to stack Warlock's Staff. Hades doesn't have the safest wave clear since he has to get close to the minions to kill them.

You should build Warlock's Staff early so you can complete your stacks ASAP. You won't get the benefit of spamming your abilities since you are delaying cooldowns.

In slower game modes like Clash/Siege, this defense combo is more viable.

Relics

Build Item Blink Rune Blink Rune
Build Item Purification Beads Purification Beads
Build Item Aegis Amulet Aegis Amulet

My Preferred Build - You can delay Bancroft if you want to rush protections/CDR

Notes Frequent ability spamming.
Fair survivability from protections and lifesteal.
Fair amount of flat penetration + damage.

Use in Arena/Clash/Siege

Example build 2 - Clash/Siege (BranMuffin's suggestion)

Notes This is a good amount of tankiness, but stacking is very slow and can leave Hades a bit vulnerable. Mantle of Discord is a flexible pick up and should be delayed/skipped if you aren't being targeted a lot.

This build is much more viable in slower game modes like Clash/Siege, where one minion wave isn't shared by everyone.

Chapter Title

So why Bruiser Hades? He's slow. His ult leaves him vulnerable. Makes sense to build some defense.

Not optimized for Conquest, Joust, or Assault.

Use in Arena/Clash/Maybe Siege.

Boogie, I think Spear of the Magus should be an item option for the pen department. Since you're building Breastplate of Valor you can skip Spear of Desolation for Magus. It will work greatly with Pillar of Agony (since it already reduces protections) and will help your magical allies.

How about a update with latest patch please? Also some skill explains would benefit new players great and some combos.

boogiebass (46) | May 4, 2019 10:10am
Yea i can write up a quick skill explanations. Branmuffin lost mid lane to hades as an isis, so he's taken quite an interest in Hades.

I'd like to see that.

Why would he update after the latest patch? Have you even looked at the latest patch? How there wasn't any changes to magical items? Or how the changes to the hammer tree were minimal? (which only matters if you consider Soul Reaver which this guide does not).

who are the resident hades experts? I like this build but movement and ccr are a concern for me so I just slapped something together to test real quick and even if I do ok with it thought i'd see what feedback i'd get.

Well, if I knew what you were giving a what response to I might be able to answer the question. Is it to the whole premise of there being hades experts(which was just my way of asking for some help, which apparently other posters recognized)? I really don't know what your query is regarding. It was a pretty simple and straight forward question.

kriega mains him as an adc in ranked conquest
Me, Gulf, and Mysterionz are pretty good with him. Branmuffin is familiar enough with theory crafting to give feedback as well.

So if you have any ideas for build, you are more than free to start a discussion here.

Hey, I tried your build and a couple of the suggestions and I went 8/7/30 in my first arena match. Surprisingly fun for such a slow, deliberate god.....build was the very top setup sub ethereal staff for spear and then I was going to go ruination at the 5 but went magus because healing wasn't an issue. Fun.
1
boogiebass (46) | March 21, 2019 3:31pm
Thanks silent! Glad it worked for you. Ill make a note of spear of the magus. Mysterionz doesn't seem to like ethereal staff on Hades. I'm sure it has its functions though.

xmysterionz (71) | March 21, 2019 7:10pm
No, what I said is that I don't like this item so early like the other guy did, as 3rd. It can be a decent option against tank comps but to make it worth, imo, it Should be built as 5th or 6th or even the replacement for the boots.

np. Yeah, it was fun. I will definitely be trying him out more. nice bridge build for someone who runs guardian and warrior a lot.

Best thing to do with hades is switch characters. Literally any hunter accept Rama will trash him, Also any assassin. A guardian or warrior usually out does him cause of high defense too lol.

This is for non-conquest modes. You can literally play anyone, Hades included.

Thsnks Kriega. I need to update this. Any suggestions?

Why are you building stacking items in arena?
1
boogiebass (46) | November 29, 2018 4:32pm
I'm not. I mentioned that build was for slower game modes like clash/siege.

It's in the purchase order notes.

boogiebass (46) | September 11, 2018 5:03pm
Alright Kriega. I edited the base build. Could you change your downvote/disapproval to an upvote/approval plox?

Here's one from me to help you feel better, Boogie.

Haha ty. I forgot kriega doesnt have a sense humor so this joke was probably lost on him.

The whole reason for chronos pendant and breastplate in the same build is to rush cdr. In a game mode like arena, youre consistently fighting. Spamming your abilities and having your escape up is vital to team fights and survival (my opinion). However, i really like your bruiser and tank builds and want to try them out. I will make the suggested upgrades. Thank you.

For the tank build, why magus and void stone together? Magus alresdy gives a **** ton of pen.
1
Kriega1 (143) | May 8, 2018 3:28pm
I just went with extra pen since there is hardly any power in the tank build, so you’re relying on base damage. It’s good for the main combo but probably overkill with the ult. The tank build has Reinforced Shoes so Spear of the Magus is fine with Void Stone, though if you went Shoes of the Magi instead you could get Spear of Desolation instead.
1
boogiebass (46) | May 8, 2018 3:31pm
I actually like that better. Id still classify that as a bruiser though.

Also, keep in mind hades has a really nice cc in his kit. I think he truly benefits from max cdr.

With any "bruiser" build, I usually think it's best to get both protections AND health where possible. For mages like Hades and Zhong Kui, who have to be closer to enemies to deal their damage and don't have good escapes ( Hades will usually initiate with his escape), then it's almost necessary.

So, if you can get away with it (e.g. others aren't stacking), Warlock's Staff is almost core...combine that with Mantle of Discord or anything else with balanced protections (unless only magical or physical are real threats).

Also, if you're going to look to be a bit of a focus for the enemy team, then Bancroft's Talon a bit earlier might be nice, but only if you can fit it in earlier.

I can definitely see the appeal of Mantle of Discord and Warlock's Staff (I'll include those options), but Breastplate of Valor and Void Stone give CDR and Pen. I want to keep Hades' fairly tanky while still giving him good damage output.

I agree that Health AND Protections are needed for an effective bruiser ( Void Stone gives +150 health btw), but my plan was to let Bancroft's Talon's lifesteal make up for the lack of HP from defensive options.
I also did mention that BC's talon can be built earlier. It's up to the user.

In order to save Hades escape, I advocated Blink Rune so the player could still save their escape/chase item in case they needed it.
1
Gulfwulf (81) | April 26, 2018 9:47pm
The problem with Void Stone is that the effects don't stack, so if you have a support building it, I'd go with something that provides flat pen like Spear of Desolation instead. If you need health, an Ethereal Staff might work better.
