Introduction

Hello there! I wanted to make a Bakasura build because I believe he is an underrated god who is actually one of the best team killing assassins you can get. I am also sick and tired of seeing Fatalis in his builds and wanted to put my own input in. I have legendary Loki and currently on mastery 7 of Bakasura aiming for 10. Needless to say I know assassins well which is why this build is for those that feel comfortable playing the assassin/jungle role and have some guts so dive into some chaotic sitautions. Could be seen as high risk high reward but if done right its just high reward!!

This is also my first guide so im new to the layout of this and cannot do funky colours or pictures so I apologise, but the information behind it is Solid.

Items

Warrior Tabi/Ninja Tabi (I prefer Warrior because the more Pen the better) - Its THE boots for any physical power player going for damage. Stupid not to get these bad boys. Also I went Warrior over Ninja because Bakasura only needs to activate his butcher blades once and everyone will be dead hence no need for CDR. The added penetration makes tanks a piece of piss. However as Baka deals true damage from an early start the added penetration isnt always needed early game and is given to you through asi later on in the guide and extra CD just means more ganks allowed as your ult will be ready to pop when you want it.

Qins Blades - Power. Attack speed. Lifesteal. (thanks to the update) and then the most important bit. The passive. If the team build tanky or with large amounts of health (such as mages with book of thoth equipped) then this thing will eat through them as you chomp away. If you are a clumsier assassin or the clean up crew for a big team fight then get the other tier weapon which boosts damage as they get weaker for quick clean ups. This is a great item for your second pick as its a good contribution to all of Baka's critical stats and the passive early game makes for easy annihilation of any enemy. This has replaced Asi as it gives you power which the Asi did not to secure kills and has same lifesteal. Asi comes later as its passive is crucial.

Bloodforge - Another huge boost in lifesteal to keep you fighting one in one combat for longer and come out of it with full health. A nice burst of physical power added and as this build has a high attack speed, every hit you get on the enemy quickly will quickly add to your power and lifesteal in those bursts of damage.

Deathbringer - Massive power boost. Introduction to your crits 'n' chaos. Silly not go get. If you dont feel like spending as much money on these you can get them later but at this point you will want the damage and crits to start up.

Asi - A new item and quite experimental but this Item is another good step to lifesteal which will become essential late game, has added penetration once more to cut through tanks even quicker and a huge boost in attack speed which makes fatalis redundant. The passive also is crucial for surviving huge teamfights and coming out alive with a nice quadra kill!

Rage - Now this is where you can choose! I personally go rage if I am finding I am fed or surviving the onslaughts as its a quaint boost in attack speed a bit more power and then CRITS CRITS CRITS which compliment the deathbringer beautifully. I am slightly inclined more to the new tier of rage as it has more power which I feel this build can lack due to Asi and its got more guaranteed crit which I would rather rely on to save me then a chance based on the amount you hit them. Either rage is brilliant its your choice.

Shield - If a mage heavy team and you cant survive their attacks or focus then Runic shield will give you that boost in magic defence that you need and some more power, and a nice buff to HP5.

Voidblade - If the team is phyiscally heavy and they are munching you away then Voidblade is that nice boost in defence but also turns the tables and gives you power and penetration.

Devourers Gloves - As you are jungling and can eat minions quickly with your attack speed and eat minion, the stacks on these guys add up quickly and are permanent. Hence adding a whollop of phys power on top as well as lifesteal.

Executioner - Great early game item as its a quick boost to your phys power and attack speed. A nice passive that reduces protections the more you hit em, so a good early chewing machines item. Not too expensive so worth it, if you want the bog standard ol reliable.

Why no Fatalis? - Fatalis' pros rely on its attack speed buff and movement speed. This build is stacked with attack speed through every other item meaning you dont need anymore. Its roughly around the 2.3 ish area. And i wouldnt swap out Asi with fatalis otherwise you will lose that crucial penetration and lifesteal that makes you live teamfights. Movement speed should hopefully not be needed as you can chase enemies over walls with your jump, your ultimate slows people down anyway and they hopefully shouldnt live beyond that anyway. If you are really still screwed use the creeping curse to guarantee that kill.

Actives :

HoG - I get HoG for the early game jungle clearance and then for the late game clearance of FG, GF or indeed the minotaur. I do not get fist of the gods as I believe you will not need the stun it gives you. You can get it anyway as you will be in the midst of enemies as you attack them so a stun could benefit you and your team, but personally I prefer to steal objectives. Fog is great for isolating and attacking priority enemies on the opposite team. If you want to focus someone fed or try and get a multi stun to cause absolute havoc then this is the item for you! just be aware that trying to get map objectives on your own will be a risky business now but with good team communication and wards that shouldnt be an issue. If you want violence and death Fog it is !!

Combat Blink - This is such a multipurpose tool that its good to get on any character. It gives you the chance to escape with ease if caught out, or catch up with enemies if you want to chase.

Creeping Curse - This item is useful for when you jump into a teamfight as it will slow down everybody in the fight so you can chomp them down for longer. This combined with your ults natural slow ability will reduce them to nothingness. I also go enfeebling curse as I dont want the team to be attacking me back as I jump into the chaos so a low attack speed is always better. You wont need to reduce their healing as it should hopefully all be over in a flash. The only thing i will say about the other tier curse is i did not realise it reduces their healing by 100% which could be very useful for stone of gaia tanks. I personally would rather not be attacked as quick if i was in the midst of chaos hence enfeeble for me.

Skills

Insatiable Hunger - This passive gives Bakasura bonus attack speed and movement speed for every minion killed for 10s up to 3 stacks. This passive is also another reason why you do not need Fatalis as it gives you the movement speed boost before you initiate.

Take Down - This ability is a jump for Bakasura that deals a hefty amount of damage whilst reducing the enemies physical protection. You can use this skill in many ways, you can initiate fights with your ult and chomp away then use your jump to get away if the tables turn or to chase down and follow an enemy god who can also jump. It can also be used for "assisting" a kill (KS) by jumping onto a god as your teammate is killing him to finish the deal. ORRRRR you can use this ability to initiate on a group of enemies unaware from behind a wall, lower all their defences then attack away!!

Eat Minion - Gives you health upon eating minions and acts as a mini HoG whilst raising your defences. This can be utilised well for running away when weak, as you can jumnp into a jungle camp over a wall eat the lesser minion gain health, consequently movement speed and attack speed to either keep running or flip the fight. Or you can eat a minion before you attack the enemy so your defences are bolstered for the attack. This is your first first upgrade as it helps a lot for minions camps when you are jungling early game. Eating a minion also adds a minion to your "minion bank" which can hold up to 6 enemies. Be careful which enemy you eat as it will be the same enemy you regurgitate in your ult. For example do you get big bruiser minions? or weak but ranged archers?

Butchers Blades - Adds additional physical power and guaranteed true damage per hit. This is the skill you will be mashing over and over and over to get the kills. The true damage will eat through tanks and healthier enemies and the boost to power is always a good thing. I level this first as its good for clearing early jungle camps quickly and for early ganks on any kind of enemy. The reason I upgrade this ability 2nd and 3rd is you arent very likely going to gank extremely early before level 5 so the butchers blade boost is better to have then a jump which you wont need yet anyway.

Regurgitate - This is your ultimate. This ability throws out an area of sick and minions depending on how many you have banked up before hand due to Eat Minion. Those caught in the initial area will be slowed upon impact. Bakasura after this attack is shortly CC immune. Baka also gains cone shaped damage on all his next basic attacks giving them range and width. This is why you are the group killer assassin. With my levelling guide up at the top of the page it has the bog standard upgrade your level 4 asap style. However its come to my attention and other peoples that the ult only upgrades the slow and nothing else which is why it could be wise to upgrade your butcher blades and jump over your ult first to get all the necessary damage. Of course you upgrade your ult at level 5 so you have it ;) Creeping curse active would just be the equivalent of the ults slow so you could upgrade it later, pop the curse attack and get the kills you need. Down to you on this one! I find the creeping curse active crucial so this does work for me when i use it.

Pros / Cons

Pros - High attack speed
- High lifesteal
- High Crits
- Extremely good in team fights
- High sustain
- Once fed you are unstoppable
- Early items in game are cheaper to buy giving you an advantage
- Moderate escape
- Decent split push capabilities
- Easy to steal/take Key objectives

Cons - Can be Squishy depending how you build
- You need good timing
- Risky strategy as it requires guts and to throw yourself into the fight.

Creeping / Jungling

As this Guide is for the more knowledgeable Jungle Assassin I wont go into too much detail. The things you buy first are the HoG, Bumbas mask and potion of physical might. This is because Bumbas Mask is made for junglers. HoG is great early game as it clears camps almost immediately and can also be used to steal other peoples camps. Later it can also be used to steal FG and GF. The potion of physical might is to give you that damage due to lack of boots bought and to get early gank kills.

The Meta as it stands is to get one of the midcamp furies, and then from there I leave it up to you. You can gank extremely early with your team to get the kill, or steal their mana buff or go around jungling until you are level 5. Remember the jungle to you is a place to get all your mana back and health as you can wander in, eat a minion run back out quickly if you are low on health. And thanks to Bumbas your mana will regenerate quicker in jungle.

Late game jungle is where you can shine. This build enables you to solo GF and FG relatively quickly without need for HoG. Your sheer amount of Attack speed, lifesteal and penetration will cut through the FG and GF in seconds. This means your team can distract the enemy team by pushing a tower whilst you happily get the FG for the team.

Team Work

This build of Bakasura relies on you clearing out entire teams when a team fight arouses or if a teammate is ganked by multiple people. You should be willing to jump in at any moment and attack away as you will get all your health back, and reduce the enemy down to nothing in seconds, tank or normal. I play baka by jungling around the place and ganking when teammates call for it. Its pretty obvious stuff for early game.

If you see the enemy team are trying to attack a friend or the GF then thats when you can shine. Let your team fight as they seem fit and then when the enemy are occupied (at full health or low health) JUMP IN. ACTIVATE BUTCHERS BLADES. PLACE YOUR ULT. position yourself in the fights so you can hit as many people as you can at once with your cone attack to maximize efficiency. This is why this build is risky as it is all about you jumping in and hoping your lifesteal will carry you through. Which it will! If you come across any enemy, always engage as you will find that your attack speed compared to theirs will be much higher, your penetration and crits will kill anyone of any strength as long as they arent too fed and your lifesteal will mean you will come out alive. Make sure you try to bamboozle your enemy by running around them as you attack them. This is particularly useful against Anubis' ult and attacks.

This build also allows you to take down enemy towers with ease. You can be the tank and just run into the tower as long as there are no minions and attack the tower. Your lifesteal will keep you alive as the tower pelts you, and the attack speed and penetration will reduce the towers health to nothing. If you feel you will die then thats when you can jump over the wall into a camp eat the minion and run away freely. As for enemies who hide in towers with weak health, only attack them if you feel your jump will reach them and possibly kill them, or if your next hit will do it. If you do jump into tower, make sure you eat a minion to keep you fighting.

They key to Smite is being aware of the map, where your teammates are, where the enemy teammates are and how many structures you have left. With this you can estimate what the enemy team are likely to attack next or defend next if you choose to push their weak spots. Always be aware of your teams shouts as this can save your life, or indeed doom your opponents.

Summary

Hopefully this guide has offered a different perspective on Bakasura, or explained the basics to how to play him. Its an extremely brave strategy to take but pays off tremendously well and can often finish the match with a crucial deicide. It can lead to your doom if you are not comfortable with Baka or the idea of getting in the thick of it. However this build only gets stronger the later into the game you get. Hope this helps :) feel free to add advice and criticism (please dont eat me alive though)

1. I agree with the Qins blades idea, it does make more sense to get it early game and i need to change that around at some point! Asi is just nice due to its passive of bonus lifesteal in dangerous situations which saves my life many times! but Qins is probably the safer pick.
2. Thats a fair enough statement, i just find i am never in need of using my abilities much as one pop of the butchers blades will kill and then by my next encounter i have it back again. But CDR never hurts especially for the ult and true damage does negate penetration i guess. Will consider the change :)
3. i have considered this many times and was thinking of maybe not upgrading it at all and relying on the creeping curse to work its magic instead, then again if thats on CD and your ult barely slows at all then it wont work out well for the team ganks and fights.
4. depends how you play! i like to backdoor the enemy team a lot as baka has insane minion clearance and can eat through objectives insanely fast and i want that HOG to guarantee that objective. Also as FG has been buffed many times recently i like making sure i can either steal it from the enemy team easily or get it myself with the lifesteal. FoG however does work great as i used it recently on my baka in a joust 3vs3 and it sets up some rather nice kills. I consider it to not be needed most of the time due to the slows and quick crits that you release. However if you wanna play kill confirmed style that too is awesome.

Thanks for the comments i will keep updating this to match whats best :)

After mastering Thanatos i tried out Bakasura, and i trust you if you have a almost level 10 baka But i have a few thinks that i would like your opinion on. I will definitely try this build on Baka next time i play him.

1. I understand the asi pick early, but with the new life steal on qins, and the fact that is only 2650 gold, and the passive with his true damage, you just shred tanks early game, as well as late game.
2. i like getting pen on a different item, and get the cdr boots, on baka, because of his early true damage, and if you buy qins blade on him early i find it helps kill tanks till you get pen.

3. Also i wonder why would you max your ulti when you can. i like to max it third, because all it does increase the slow?

4 finally i feel like you should get FoG, instead of HoG, because it can stun them?
