Introduction

Bacchus - The God of Wine

Hello, and welcome to my first guide on SmiteFire. I wanted to get this guide out quick so it could help all of you people who have been quickly buying and mastering Bacchus the newest god added to SMITE. Remind you, this is my first guide so I hope everyone can exclude any mistakes I make and enjoy it.

Changes and Updates

- 11/19/12

Bacchus Patch Version: 0.1.1139.0 came out. Along with Bacchus being released, I created this guide. It's currently a work in progress.

I have begun to work on the guide. Did some of the Pros / Cons, Skills, and explanation of the builds I have.

Pros / Cons

Pros of Bacchus

  • Fantastic slows, stuns, and intoxications
  • GREAT Damage to enemies (lv1-15)
  • Tank, yet can deal amazing damage
Cons of Bacchus
  • VERY mana hungry early game
  • Slow - not good with chasing faster gods
  • Escaping isn't the best

Skills

Drunk-O-Meter
Everytime Bacchus drinks, he gains a percentage of his Drunk-O-Meter. This percentage (depending on his rank of it: Thirsty, Tipsy, or Smashed) will also effect and help his other skills such as blech of the gods, Belly Flop, and his ultimate: Intoxicate.

Chug
Chug is one of your main skills that will effect your Drunk-O-Meter besides the fact that when you kill someone with this active, bacchus] takes another drink gaining 10% more on his [[drunk-o-meter. Early game, this uses quite a bit of your mana so I don't use it often unless I have Meditation. Sometimes, I forget to get it, and just go on with my build for who knows what reason, and it's a constant pain to go back to spawn everytime I run out of mana. I don't use this constantly until I have it up to about rank 2-3 as it gives a more percentage for less mana.

Belly Flop
Belly Flop is a very effective skill with Bacchus. Does a HUGE amount of damage, and great ganking ability. If you're Tipsy when you land this skill, all Gods in the area are slowed by 30% for 3 seconds which can be a huge help, especially if you use this in align with blech of the gods. This is also a great skill for harassing enemy Gods.

Belch of the Gods
Another great utility helper, and gank skill. If you're tipsy when you use Belch of the Gods enemies are stunned for 1s, and their healing is debuffed by 50%. I love to use this immediately after Belly Flop especially in a ganking scenario as the enemies health will be very mild, and easy to pick up the kill with Intoxicate.

Intoxicate
Your best damage dealer, your ultimate, Intoxicate! It's a very high damage dealing ultimate, with amazing utility which is helpful to the team in a team fight, and for picking up a solo kill. Using this in align with Belly Flop -> Belch of the Gods -> Intoxicate is an amazing way to take a god down. Intoxicate will slow all Gods intoxicated by 20% for 8 seconds, and if you're Smashed, you will gain 20% physical power over the anger of your lost wine!

Builds

Tankensive (Tank + Offensive)

Tankensive was a cute name I liked to call this build. It's not a solid tank build - you have yet a good amount of defense, but also a good amount of magical damage. If you want to survive, soak some damage, and still do a mild amount of damage this build is for you.

The alternative 2 items is up to you. I didn't get any examples because I will have a Solid Tank build in the future. You make the decision for what you want to buy later after the core build; Tankensive.

Magensive (Magical + MORE Offensive)

Magensive is the name of this build - if the name can't get anymore self explanatory let me explain it. It mainly focuses on making Bacchus's Magical Damage much higher than usual resulting in him doing a GREAT amount of damage, especially from levels 1-15.

Alternative 2 Items

This is an area where you get to choose. The core build in the Magensive, now you have 2 items of freedom that you can pick what you'd like to do. I've layed out a few to give you ideas, but I'm sure you can come up with something maybe even better. They're just examples, I just want to make sure you know the core build, and then 2 items for examples that you should get to complete it.

I use a different guide on bacchus because now i just like many people that play smite have found that bacchus is actually better physical than magic in my opinion but otherwise when i used this guide it was great! +1

I've found that a good deal of partners for Bacchus are the ranged DPS and the Melee dps in general. Casters in your lane often lack cc, unless they're somewhat tanky casters. You're the initiator, try and put something in about how to deal with random teammates and picking in between other picks. The initial picks are the people confident about how they play. Make sure your guide covers that Bacchus may not always hit the 100% mark for fitting in a comp.

Sorry if that doesn't make sense lol

Gonna start doing this now. Still workin on the guide, but I did add some more content and spiffed some stuff up.

I'd suggest finishing out the item build, I know you're leaving it to our discretion but I'd say most people who need the guides have no idea what to pick.

Other than that your item choices seem sound (and I'm loving the improved Wall of Absolution) but people might benefit from you breaking each choice down and explaining your reasoning behind each item.

Lastly, to make this a guide to truly be reckoned with, I suggest you detail problem enemies for Bacchus and how to deal with them and allies that combine well with Bacchus in the laning phase.

Great start! Keep it going! +1

Thanks man, I enjoy the criticism as it'll help me now and in the future. Currently working on going in depth with the items, and also adding some color and what not so it's not bland and boring. Once done, I'll probably make a chapter for enemies, and partners who would be good, and basically what to do in certain positions like you said.

Great way to make me want to improve it.
I've been improving it all day. I'm trying to make it better, and I understand you're giving constructive criticism, but it's not that helpful.

Well, as I said in the beginning of this guide that it's my first, and it's a ongoing work in progress. I plan to keep updating this, and constantly adding more in depth explanations on it.

Anyhow, thanks for your +1 and I'll continue to keep this guide going.
