Build Guide Discussion (96) More Guides

Items you want to start the match with. Notes Mage's Blessing is a good starter item for Bocchus due to the fact that he consumes a large amount of mana. So it helps with his mana regeneration and boosts his abilities by 10 damage...and magical power by 20!!! Also after 75 stacks 10% cooldown reduction. You can use Guardian's Blessing as a substitute item for starter making Bacchus more self sustainable and beefy...plus the gold is a nice boost for getting to that build quicker. It gives Bacchus plus 100 health, 5 to both protections, 7 to both health and mana regeneration, 3 gold per minion, and after 50 stacks 4 gold per 5 seconds. Meditation cloak helps keep you main lane longer and sustain your team. (Emergencies only!) Chalices are also to help keep you main lane longer too. Sell ward for Sundering Spear Upgraded to increase the damage taken by 20% for 5 seconds.

Build Item Mage's Blessing Mage's Blessing
Build Item Guardian's Blessing Guardian's Blessing
Build Item Meditation Cloak Meditation Cloak
Build Item Chalice of Healing Chalice of Healing

Build Item Sundering Spear Sundering Spear

Item #2: Movement speed. Notes Traveler's shoes are great for Bacchus due to again the mana consumption and helps with mana regeneration. Plus 25 magical power not mention plus 25% movement speed that's faster than the common boots of 18%. Therefore nobody will be able to out run you, catch you, and you can run down anyone you want to meet club them to death. It's all about that MEAT BABY!!!...remember that for later on...it also gives you a neat passive plus 20% movement speed after leaving the fountain for 7 seconds so that you can get back in action fast. Shoes of Focus is also good for starting the match because it gives you power, mana, and cooldown reduction. After you sell blessing to put a new item in its place, sell shoes for Shoes of the Magi for more damage output late game.

Build Item Traveler's Shoes Traveler's Shoes
Build Item Shoes of Focus Shoes of Focus
Build Item Shoes of the Magi Shoes of the Magi

Core item #3: Defense. Notes This is all the way around a great item for Bacchus due to the fact that he is already naturally beefy and it gives him plus 30 for both protections. Plus 30 magical power not to mention an awesome passive for all of Bacchus's abilities...except his Endless Drink! Bounce on your enemies and then meat club them while they're in the air...remember it's all about that meat...and if any of your team mates jump on anyone hit by your abilities is debuff by 10 protection for 5 seconds. A great time to alt...gg...you can also burp on them to stun them at the end of the burp...run up and meat clubbum...

Build Item Stone of Binding Stone of Binding

Core item #4: Lifesteal. Notes It's all about that MEAT BABY!!! Okay this item helps him become more self sustainable by giving him plus 85 magical power, 300 mana, and 12% magical lifesteal so that you can stay main lane longer...O!!! and a crazy passive using abilities gives your next basic attack for 8 seconds plus 75% of your magical power as additional magical damage...IT'S ALL ABOUT THAT MEAT BABYYY!!!...on top of protection being debuff by 10...gg...

Build Item Polynomicon Polynomicon

Core item #5: Bacchus is naturally weak against magical Gods more defense. Notes This item helps Bacchus become even more beefier by giving him plus 150 health, 40 magical power, 60 magical protection, and a awesome aura that reduces anyone within 55 units magical protection by 10%...on top of 75% meat club and 10 protection debuff...gg...it's all about that meat...

Build Item Void Stone Void Stone

Item #6: Damage. Notes This item helps Bacchus set his dominance by giving him plus 110 magical power, 15 magical penetration...stupid at this point...gg...and 10% cooldown reduction. An okay passive kill or assist on Gods reduce all cooldowns by 2 seconds...lame...

Build Item Spear of Desolation Spear of Desolation

Endgame items #7: More damage. Notes Sell the blessing. Then sit back and enjoy the game. GG Bro! Chronos' Pendent puts you over the top and makes Bacchus unstoppable by giving him plus 100 magical power, 20 mana per 5 seconds, and 20% cooldown reduction. Plus a great passive ever 10 seconds reduce all cooldowns by 1 second...it's all about that meat...GG BRO!!! Rod of Tahuti if you just want to whip them out. Demonic Grip is another good endgame item to help the meat become more effective by reducing the opposing teams magical defenses by 10% per a meat club to the face up to 3 stacks for 3 seconds. Telkhines Ring helps the meat as well, your basic attacks deal 10 damage plus 15% of your magical power.

It's truly all about that meat.

This build is truly all about the meat. Rundown your opponents and meat clubbum to death. This build is cheap and quick to build. Debuff and penetrate the opposing teams defenses. At the same time delivering massive damage. Have fun and don't forget to meat club between abilities. And if you want a good laugh reference the notes per item. Also please leave me a vote if you like the build. Drink and be merry! GG!!!

The meat works

So I had offered some feedback earlier. I didn't say the build didn't have potential as there are good damaging options here for an offensive Bacchus build (rather than his typical tank direction), but OP was very defensive and they and their friends took it as completely negative. My specific issues with the build are skill leveling, and getting Chalices, Meditation, and (not mentioned) having the rings as options late-game.

Now, I will offer a build direction I would go for that maintains the general concept of the OP.

Skill leveling: Max Belly Flop first unless you are aware and can always time use of Belch of the Gods after any stun or interrupting ability is used by the enemies.

Relics: Blink Rune (1st) + whatever 2nd.

Starter items: Attacker's Blessing + Druid Stone + 2 Health Potions + 2 Mana Potions.

Item #1: Shoes of Focus or Traveler's Shoes. Do NOT get Shoes of the Magi at this point as the extra power is not worth the lack of CDR (Focus) or MP5/MS (Traveler's).

Item #2: Stone of Binding

Item #3: Spear of Desolation. Get this earlier in the build for the extra flat pen and more CDR.

Item #4: Polynomicon. This comes later in the build. Why? You won't get much out of the lifesteal no matter what, and the damage bonus 1) scales at 75% of your current power, and 2) is subject to mitigations...so build up more power and pen through Shoes/Binding/Deso first to get more out of it.

Item #5: Void Stone

Item #6 and #7 (replace Shoes) options: Chronos' Pendant, Divine Ruin, Doom Orb, Ethereal Staff, Rod of Tahuti, Staff of Myrddin. Do NOT consider Telkhines Ring or Demonic Grip...those are terrible options for this build.

You may also consider replacing Stone of Binding, but even late-game that's not a terrible item for an aggressive build...but you CAN replace it, and should at least consider it.

Gameplay: You're not the main tank. Your team needs to know your plans beforehand to go basically glass-cannon. It can work out if all 3 people go squishy, but the videos you show basically have teammates that are also non-tanks, so there's either a lack of communication or everyone is okay with 3 squishies.

But lacking a true front-liner means you have to be more careful in picking your spots to attack, which is also why Blink Rune should be considered...it allows you to initiate, surprise enemies, drop your ult with good timing to hit all 3 enemies, and still have an escape in Belly Flop should things turn dangerous for you. I don't see any of this higher level type of play in these videos.

As for the videos...
  • "Smite-Phoenix!? You mean meat." With full health, you hung way back behind your phoenix, allowed your Bastet to die (yes, they went in, but you could have easily disrupted and helped them out and possibly won the fight without her having to die, so that's being a poor teammate right there...and you had your ult.)

  • "Smite-It's all about that meat" At the 16 second mark of the video, you have basically full health...why the heck are you running away when your teammates are still being aggressive on the last remaining enemy?
Finally, in your videos, you're showing a good amount of kills...but your total kills/deaths/assists (at this point) is 2,755 kills, 2,810 deaths, and 4,778 assists, with a 1.83 KDA. Meaning...pretty much as many times as you're getting all these kills...you're also dying just as much (even a bit more). Dominance with a god means you get more kills than deaths on average. So while yes, you're getting kills (and arguably against lower level competition), you also die too much in a general sense. And this is where strategies like helping your teammates out (instead of waiting for them to die), getting Blink to initiate and using your ult earlier in a fight, etc., are all things that can help improve your game.

I've played Bacchus a lot less than you (I spread out my god usage more), but my current stat line is 731 kills, 624 deaths, 2,616 assists, 3.27 KDA. Even when not building glass cannon every time, I'm still getting more kills than deaths. I'm not stating this to brag...I'm trying to make a point based on build knowledge and seeing the limited gameplay from your videos, that there are better ways to build, and better strategies to use when playing. You can, of course, take it or leave it, but you might try out some of this and see how it works for you...but you need to take it all into consideration, not just the build, because a lot of the success will be in HOW you play, not just what you build.

agreed with the last part. While a build is able to help decide a part of the game, it only plays a part in how effective certain function you need to fulfill during the game. If you play to fulfill the required functions you amplify the chance of winning. If you play to fulfill different function it usually decreases the chances of winning. The thing is the function you have to fulfill differs per game and can even differ during the game (like one fight you can go Ham and disrupt the enemy backline, but during another you need to protect your mage. Both things can be done with the same build, however are not fully reliant on it).

So it's my fault for being a higher level...shut the front door and get out of here with your garbage...

That's uh, not what we said. We were saying it's easier to kill someone that's 2 levels below you. Though even if you were ahead that players you were up against don't seem like the brightest bunch.

Let it be, Luka; you're not going to convince him this is a bad build. All one has to do is check out his SmiteGuru profile and see his numbers to come to the conclusion that this build is bad.

Every video you posted recently seemed good, until I looked at your recent games. You lost every single one, this is why we are trying to help you. If your build makes you lose,it's not good. Please listen to us.

Also, looking at your season 6 elo, you were at 1332 elo, which is WAY below average, so please fix the builds that you use.

Build looking better in that video (though it was also only good last season) but your ego is way too high, dude play some ranked joust instead of thinking you're some high and mighty casual Joust player.

Like that Khepri has no defense yet, there's double meditation on enemy team, and they're 2 levels behind. I seriously do not know what you think is so impressive.

This video shows absolutely nothing, considering that you didnt even use bacchus, you didn't even do all of the damage in thatbattle, you just secured the kills. Please give us something that isn't outdated as well.

It does not really matter that he used Athena.

However the only thing the video does is draw a picture of Shield Wall chunking them for 1/4 of their health while in reality if you look closely Ra's 1 chunks them. The proof is the damage numbers (coming from the basic attacks) does not only add up with the HP loss of the opponents, but also show afterwards (not simultaneously).

So honestly this video is even worse proof then the initial 2

If I want a damage/hybrid build there's better options.

E.g. Shoes of Focus, Stone of Binding, Breastplate of Valor (or Jade Emperor's Crown), Void Stone, Ethereal Staff, Spear of Desolation. Sell boots lategame for Elixir of Speed and Soul Reaver.

Also to get an idea of what damage Bacchus would like similar to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_5iEADRCxyQ

Void stone is in there bit early, especially against this level of play where there likely isn't a support, or if there is a support, he won't be building heartward or Thebes. Speaking from experience, yours may be different. I think 5th item would be better if magical threats aren't very relevant.

During that fight Pele tried to do her job that you just had to finish, as you failed the job to keep her alive as the tank (however that was impossible anyway as you were not even near, cause respawn).

The thing I do want to say is that I find the videos weak proof as your abilities did most of the killing not the meat. In your first video the same thing although the last basic attack is a better example then in your second video. And even then your belch did most of the damage.

If you want to provide good proof of this build (which in your own written text: is all about the meat), I would need to see a video where you kill several near full health opponents with mostly basic attacks, instead of dropping your full kit on them and 1 poly basic to finish them off.

Here's a suggestion, move on. You can clearly see the person is either full of themselves from their low level of skill gameplay and/or a troll.

Honestly in that second clip it looks like Pele did most of the work that game. The fight is a good example since she stole demon and put the 2 squishy gods on 1/4 HP and the bruiser on 1/3 hp I think she had won the fight on her own if Odin did not have cage/ult. I guess by that play alone she did around 2x more damage then you during the game.
