Arena Rock- Are you not entertained!?

Hello, and welcome to my inaugural SMITEfire effort. As someone who is mainly an Arena enthusiast, I have decided to lay out my choices for an assassin build.

This is indeed an Apollo guide, as he is the god who I believe to exemplify this builds strengths the most, but it can generally be tweaked to most Basic Attack based physical carry/assassins in an Arena setting. It is is my favorite blend of speed, power, and on-hit potency.


With my focus on Arena, and the pretty basic strategies that arise from this bloodsport, this will amount to little more than an explanation of my buy order. This may prove to be obvious information to vets, but I have always wanted to give this a whirl. I encourage conversation and critique of my decisions and design.

The Executioner

We are very interested in Attack Speed with this build, plus The defensive shredding capabilities of this weapon have excellent synergy with Audacity. A perfect boon for the God of Turning Your Face to Swiss Cheese.

Bloodforge

The latest addition to our arsenal of physical prowess. You rapid shots will ramp up to a world of hurt and significant Lifesteal As their life becomes yours, opponents will come to fear the God of Drinking Your Milkshake.

Deathbringer

The name says it all, as monster Critical Strike Damage plus the highest base Physical Power available make you the God of Smacking you So Hard Your Grandchildren Will Weep.

Rage

Now we are capitalizing on beefy Critical Strike Damage, via Deathbringer, and getting our bread and butter Attack Speed. We are well over 50% Critical Strike Chance now, and will sometimes see flurries of Audacity crits. You are now the God Of Making You Circus Flip Into a Dumpster.

Qin's Blades

A strong hit of Attack Speed loving, and an on-hit effect that takes chunks out of your foes. This rounds out the set and makes you the God Thats Gonna Rock You, Ready or Not.

Alternatives

Titan's Bane

This would be a strong alternative for

Qin's Blades

or

Rage

when faced with tankier teams, or if you just don't feel like you are packing enough wallop.

Frostbound Hammer

If your team is having trouble closing the deal on especially elusive gods, this could keep them in the crossfire a little while longer, while adding a bit more Health. However, you are all about evasive mobility and high damage, the modest Physical Power isn't adding much to your kit.

Fatalis

This weapon turns you into a speed demon, getting in and out of the fray quicker while popping rapid shots. It's synergy with

Bloodforge

is impressive in long fights. However, it only adds Attack Speed to your damage output, of which there is plenty in our basic kit. If you feel like you are lagging behind or getting caught too much, keep it in mind.
