Arachne can only have 3 Web traps or projectiles active at a time.

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to my first ever smite guide. I'm an experienced smite player although i haven't played much ranked at all. I am currently master V on Arachne (PS4). I will be covering the basics and mechanics of Arachne, The Weaver (at least I'll try :)). I will keep making changes to this and add more colours and improve the formatting as time goes on to make it a bit easier to read and follow, besides who wants boring plain text anyway.

This guide will have lots of flaws I am aware. Feel free to give me suggestions on how to improve my guide in the comments. And of course you can vary how you build her, I'm just showing you how I build her and what works for me. Build Arachne how you feel is best for your play style.

Can solo Gold Fury (Conquest) and Bull Demon King (Joust or duel) at about level 10 with correct farming and jungling

Arachne's basic attacks gain 1.5% physical damage for every 5% of a target's missing Health.

Not much to say here, she just deals more damage with her basic attacks.

Venomous Bite

1. Upon activation, Arachne's next basic attack within 5s does additional damage and infects the target with Venom, dealing damage over time and healing Arachne every 0.5s for 3s.

Initial damage: 50 / 75 / 100 / 125 / 150 (+35% of your physical power)
Damage/Healing per tick: 10 / 20 / 30 / 40 / 50 (+10% of your physical power)
Damage/Healing per tick (Total): 60 / 120 / 180 / 240 / 300 (+60% of your physical power)
Combined Total Damage: 110 / 195 / 280 / 365 / 450 (+95% of your physical power)
Cost: 60 / 65 / 70 / 75 / 80
Cooldown: 15 / 14 / 13 / 12 / 11s

The way I build Arachne is with lots of sustain and I find her to potentially be the best boxer in the game. I chose to level this ability first because I find it crucial for boxing and 1v2's (which should be 95% of your fights). She hits the enemy god hard when it's activated and heals herself for a lot. Once maxed it does an insane 450 base damage and even more once you add on 95% physical power. The earlier you max this ability the faster your build will come online and the easier it will be the shred the squishies. When playing conquest in jungle this ability is incredible for your sustain when paired with Bumba's Mask.

Cocoon

2. Arachne spindles her webbing, and her next 3 successful basic attacks are executed with increased attack speed for 6s. If all three attacks hit the same target, that target is stunned.

Cooldown: 15s

This is maxed second due to her being able to secure an easy kill once she lands the three basic attacks. This also fits with the build due to the attack speed increase and once its maxed with a full build you will be landing all three attacks in less than a second.


Web

3. Arachne spins a wall of web. Enemies who pass through the web are slowed, revealed to Arachne, and leave a trail of web behind them that increases Arachne's movement speed and makes her immune to slows. Breaking the web also spawns Broodlings, which deal damage to nearby enemies. Arachne can only have 2 Webs active at a time.

Although Web can be very mean early game I use it as more of a utility rather than a damage dealer. It has no scaling which means it is good early game but it will start to fall off mid game which is where Venomous Bite becomes very potent and important for your sustain and kill potential. In conquest, joust and duels this ability can also be used to block off ganks because the enemy god won't be able to walk through without setting it off. You can also set them off and take out a tower if it's on low health because the Broodlings can take the target of the tower. It can be used for more than just damage and gives Arachne's kit a lot of versatility.

Ultimate

Arachne's ultimate is similar to Web in the way i use it. Don't get me wrong it can set up kills and deals some very good damage but i prefer to level it once at level five then leave the other four levels to 16-20. This is her only escape, try not to initate with it unless you can get a guaranteed kill and can get out without getting killed yourself.

Items


Bumba's mask is essential for any jungler. It provides health for jungle creeps that are killed and extra to jungle creeps. Pretty simple and a must have starter item. (NOTE: This item is only useful in Conquest and will be sold later in build)

I prefer Warrior Tabi (power boots) over Ninja Tabi (attack speed boots) because of what I build on her gives her almost full attack speed so if you use ninja tabi you will exceed the cap. As i said in the introduction this is how I build and play her so feel free to get ninja tabi over warrior tabi if you are using an item with more damage rather than attack speed. Which ever one you choose make sure you get boots.

Ichaival provides a ver nice power spike early game and also some curcial attack speed to get your build online and rolling. I think it's a no brainer to get this straight after boots.

Asi is an all round item. It gives you lifesteal, penetration and attack speed. The lifesteal is key for sustainability. penetration and attack speed are very handy to have and for only 1780 gold it's a bargain for what you get. the passive gives you extra lifesteal if you go under 35% health (once every 15 seconds).

Soul Eater or Qin's Sais will be your fourth item. I always tend to go Soul Eater mainly because of the lifesteal and massive attack speed increase. However if the enemy team has a lot of tanks or high health targets I would go with Qin's Sais.

Choose 2 of the next 3

Hydra's Lament is a very good item for late game. You get some CDR (cooldown reduction) and with cool downs round 15-18 seconds it will make your killing potential much higher. The passive deals more damage for your next basic attack after casting an ability. As Arachne you should always be initiating with an ability so basically you can kill them faster. There is also a physical power increase with this item.


Stone Cutting Sword is an extremely good item late game and is my sixth item 90% of the time. (The other 10% it's fifth :D). It strips the God you're attacking of their physical protections and gives them to you (max. 3 stacks). You get +50 physical power and extra movement speed so you can chase down people easier. Must have laste game for Arachne

titan' bane is basically just a pure penetration increase. It gives +30 physical power but at this stage of the game it won't make much of a difference. This will be purchased with qin's sias to shred the tanks. (NOTE: I wouldn't usually get this item and I would instead get Hydra's Lament and Stone Cutting Sword).

Combos

+ and (simultaneously)

There is only really one combo for Arachne and it results in the enemy's death every time :). You can also use Night Crawler to initiate or escape. Just be careful that once you use it to initiate you now have no escape.

The hardest part about this combo is making the enemy walk into your web. after they hit your web they are dead. You activate Venomous Bite and Cocoon at the same time when you go in for the kill. The Broodlings from Web will constantly be hitting them while it applies a decent slow, they can also take some of the damage for you as well. Web will leave behind a trail that increases your movement speed, its basically a free Hastened Fatalis. Venomous Bite will hit hard and apply a DoT (damage over time) to the enemy and give you a heal. Cocoon will stun the enemy once you hit your three basic attacks and will secure the kill unless a relic such as purification or sanctuary is used. Even if they get away by using one of those relics still consider it a win because next time you attack they will die. Cocoon will also increase your attack to an insane amount once you have it maxed and have full build.

Situational Items

I'll keep this short and simple because I very rarely use any of these items. You can build Arachne how you wish but this is one way that I like to build her. If you replace any items afore mentioned keep in mind you don't want to sacrifice attack speed or lifesteal due to this whole build and guide being based around it.


The Executioner is an item that you will trade Ichaival for if you decide to buy it, this is once you have all 6 of your items. However you don't have to because ichaival is still a very solid item late game. They do similar damage output and provide similar stats and benefits. Personal preference this one.
and
Rage and Deathbringer are your crit items. They will make Arachne hit extremely hard. Personally i don't like building crit on Arachne as i think lifesteal is more suited to her kit and the way I play. If you do buy either or both of these items try and keep your attack speed so that you can crit more often and hopefully melt the enemy faster.

Masamune is an item to build with Qin's Sais to help do more damage to tanky gods. Again, I have only used this item a few times on Arachne just to experiment and I found it to be quite nice against the right team composition.

Summary

Arachne is a very solid jungler and is a fun god to play. I've been having lots of fun with her recently and I don't think that will change. Make sure you hit your combo, position your self correctly and the kills will come. She definitely isn't the hardest god to play but is still very very good in my opinion. My base build is based highly on sustain and attack speed and i feel like that's the way to build her. Of course that's just my way of playing her and you might feel building crit on her is the best, it comes down to your play style and how you are best with her. The only bad thing about her for me is not finding out about her earlier.
