Introduction

Hello everyone, this is my first guide - a agni mid guide to total annihilation.

Before we start I must tell you that to play agni you must hit your meteors if you want to kill someone, it's possible without using them, but only if you're fed and/or have a lot of magic power.

If at first you don't succeed, try again. It takes skill to play agni efectively.

Another note is that some agni players spam out the ultimate in one place, don't do that. Seriously, it's better to aim them relative to the direction in which your foe is heading. Majority of the players walk right into them, if you know what you're doing.

PS. Forgive me if you find any grammar mistakes, english is not my native language.

Items

The items for agni isn't really dynamic, most of the players choose to buy similiar items, so you might notice that the items I chose is already the items you buy in-game.

First of all, why I chose these items :

Boots of the magi
Pretty obvious, gives you early - game magic power and movement.

Warlock's Sash
By the mid - game you'll have full stacks on the warlock's sash, it gives you alot of health and mana, aswell as magic power to give you more sustainability and power.

Obsidian Shard
Gives a nice amount of magic power and penetration.

Rod of Tahuti
It's the deathbringer for mages, gives you tons of power, some nice MP5 and the passive is a gift from the gods.

Book of Thoth
Gives you nice mag. power, stacking mana and the 3 percent conversion of mana to mag.power. Tons of damage.

Gem of isolation
Pretty obvious. Who doesn't love slows?

Bancroft's talon
Once again, tons of damage + MORE damage when taking damage.

Early - Game

Start out with level 1 boots of the magi, meditation and aegis ( or any other ability which you prefer ). You'll have 300 gold remaining, buy 5 Health potions and one mana potion. The five potions will keep you alive long enough to farm enough gold.

Use meditation before using the mana potion!

Once the enemy backs and/or you have enough got (1000+) head back to the base and build level 2 boots of the magi.

Core Items

If you have enough money after you buy the level 2 boots of magi, start building up warlock's sash. Complete it as soon as you can. Once you finish warlock's sash, start killing minions and stack it up. When you have the money, buy obsidian shard, this will give penetration against tanks and annoying mages with magic protection.
Once you have the money, buy rod of tahuti - the deathbringer for mages.

Late - Game

There's a few items you can buy, depends on the enemy team's layout :
Buy gem of isolation if those jumpers get away far too often, or if you just want to get easy kills.
Buy book of thoth for massive damage.
Buy bancroft's talon for again, damage and if you like to get in their face.
There is some other items you can buy, again, it all depends on what gods you are facing.

Skills

Skills explained and their uses

PASSIVE - Combustion
This has to be one of the best passives, it got me many kills by last hitting.
After you hit 4 basic attacks, your hands catch on fire. The next flame wave / rain fire that hits enemies will ignite them for SCALING damage. Did your enemy escape with ~100 health? OH COMBUSTION WILL TAKE CARE OF THAT(Most of the time).
Make sure to get it before attacking to deal more damage.

Noxious fumes(1)
Ground AoE skill, puts noxious fumes(duh) on the ground which can be ignited by your other skills to stun the enemy. Low damage, not really useful to attack.

Flame wave(2)
Your most damaging ability, the one you have to max out first. Great initiation skill, use it on noxious fumes to stun, DO NOT use your flame wave, because it can save your life when you're ganked.

Path of flames(3)
AKA I'll-just-dash-into-you-and-kill-you-when-you're-low. Great skill to push and farm early game. Is your enemy running from you, with very little health but all your damaging abilities are on cooldown? JUST DASH INTO HIM and make him feel the wrath of 1000 suns. When you dash, it leaves a path of flame, obviously, once a enemy steps in, he catches on fire and burns to death. Usually.

Rain fire(4)
One word - Apocalypse. Best ultimate in the game. Massive damage, multiple shots, NO MANA COST, low cooldown. Oh you're out of mana? Ra pushing your tower? JUST SPAM THAT SON OF NU AND HIS MINIONS INTO OBLIVION.

Early - Game

Once you spawn, pick up path of flames(3). This will provide enough push. A few notes about using it :
DO NOT dash FORWARD into the archers, run around them and dash INTO your minions.
A good way to start pushing is to come close to the enemy's tower and when the minions are near, dash forward to your tower.

Pick flame wave(2) at level 2.
This will enable you to damage the god you're facing and the ranged creeps.

Pick noxious fumes(1) at level 3.
Will help to engage or escape.

Pick rain fire(4) at level 5.
Few tips :
DO NOT spam your ultimate in one place, chances are you'll miss 2 of them.
Rather than spamming, try to aim them relative to the enemy's direction, if he's moving backward, aim slightly behind him, chances are he'll walk into it.
It's best to use your meteors to hit ranged creeps + the enemy god, since everyone loves to hide behind the rangers.

I chose to max out flame wave first, it deals most damage from the basic three skills.
Once you max out flame wave, max out path of flames. This will make them BURN for alot of damage.

The last thing you max out(except ultimate) - noxious fumes.
It's useless, the bonus 10 damage per level isn't good because you use it to stun people, not to harm them, and if you do, the max ticks they take is 1-2.

Once you're level 20 - this is the usual progress of attacking :
Noxious fumes - Flame wave ( Stun ) and aim meteors, if still alive, dash into the enemy to ignite them.

Pros / Cons

PROS:
+ High damage
+ Average sustainability
+ A lot of burst damage in team-fights
CONS:
- Easily focused
Well, I can't think of anymore cons :P

Team Work

Team work is pretty basic - Help other lanes ( Early - Mid game )
Once the enemy leaves the lane, it's show time, pick a lane to gank, preferably in which your teammates are tower hugging, make sure to say that you're ganking.
Generally what you do is come behind, put noxious fumes on the weaker, squishier god ( or both ) and cast flame wave. Make sure to hit them with the flame wave, not just the fumes. Once they start running, start throwing out meteors. DO NOT spam them out, aim them, one by one, if the distance gets too big, use the path of flames to get closer and usually, throw the last meteor.

Late - Game

Once teamfights start to kick in, it's best to stay behind the tank ( unless you're confident and/or fed ). Once your/their team initiate, try to hit as many of them with your meteors. Focus the squishies first. Stun any of the survivors to help your team to catch up.

Summary

This guide comes to an end.
As you read a million times before, this build is for mid( can be played in side too) annihilation. Just remember, the items won't do much if you do not have the skill to play agni, time will pass and the skill will come. Be patient.

Thank you for reading, I apologize if I made any grammar mistakes, repetitive stuff or illogical sentences, as mentioned before, this is my first guide. It took me awhile to write this wall-o-text so please don't be harsh <3.
