Chapter Title

Conquest Mid Builds.

Based on how good Agni players perform and how quickly they can perform combos using Instant cast, I recommend that you at least get used to using it on Agni. If you give it a try I also recommend you have the ground targeter on. To exclusively turn instant cast on for Agni I believe you have to go on the in game menu (press start on console) and go to abilities and it will let you change it there (on PC press K by default to bring up the abilities menu where you can change the casting for that god's abilties).

How to clear wave using Path of Flames at level 1? Check out this section from this video (watch 20 seconds onwards from the time-linked part of the video) : https://youtu.be/o4wSdYOfhl4?t=60

Amazing Agni build. I use this build for mid lane and it works perfect

Can you provide a brief explanation of what each build is for? All the "build example (blank)" has me confused lol.
1
Kriega1 (143) | January 7, 2020 2:17pm
Well 1. These are a little outdated though probably still usable (notice the lack of Doom Orb). 2. Season 7 will have pretty big changes to Mage builds.

Ask if you have any questions about specific terms/words.

Anyway to fufill your request:

Note: I am ignoring the "notes" section for each example build mentioning valid lategame boots replacements when Elixir of Speed is bought, and these may or may not address some problems mentioned with that particular build.

Early Magus Rush Builds: Allows high damage early game against squishies when Agni's passive is stacked to proc Magus easily and afterwards spam his ult for high poke damage.

Example build 1: Early focus on pen and anti-heal. Reaver for tank busting and for the mana/higher power item in build. Pendant at end for extra CDR. Obs Shard for lategame instant penetration without requiring Magus stacking.

Example Build 2: Same as build 1 but anti-heal is removed, Shaman's Ring is put in to synergise with Shaman's and give more ult spam damage, and build is *slightly* cheaper. Chronos' swapped for Soul Gem, to get help get the 20% (from Soul Gem and Shaman's) that was lost by removing Chronos'.

Chronos' Pendant builds: Early CDR rush/focus to spam abilities more and have more safety as your escape and stun are available more. Expensive in the early game with early Chronos'.

Example Build 3: Early CDR and Magus/flat pen focused build to harassed squishy gods on enemy team. Soul Gem at end for extra burst procs. Spam heavy build. Has E-Staff and Reaver for procs to delete enemies, but won't delete tanks super hard unless/until you sell boots late for Obs Shard.

Example Build 4: Similar to Build 3 but heavier/earlier anti-tank focus with Obs Shard present.

Example Build 5: 10% less CDR and more bursty version of Build 3 against squishies.

Example Build 6: Very similar to Build 4, but trading some damage loss from dropping magus for anti-heal.

Book of Thoth Builds: High mana to help with bad mana usage and/or extended teamfights. Allows possiblity of including Book of the Dead in the build, though an item I feel is outclassed by Ethereal Staff (though you can always build both). Provides a high amount of power lategame.

Example Build 7: Bursty, high-mana build, but low CDR so not much ability or ult spamming. Though boots late be sold late for Chronos'.

Example Build 8: Less surviability and less tank-melting than Build 7, but more CDR, has anti-heal, but weaker squishy damage early game without Magus.

Example Build 9: High mana glass cannon build if you're doing well early game. Lots of flat pen and some CDR to harass squishy gods. High power build and some proc damage from Reaver present.

Bancroft's Builds: Early Bancroft's rush for power spike (Starting tier 2, and the passive comes into play when fighting early game on lower health) and for early sustain through lifesteal. Risky build if using the tier 2 start, but you don't have a massive reliance on mana for early clearing as Agni compared to other mages since you can cast your ult without using mana.

Example Build 10: Anti-heal, flat pen focused, proc heavy later in the build. Large squishy damage but poor tank damage unless boots is sold for Obsidian Shard. Vety low CDR so less spamming abilities.

Example Build 11: High flat pen damage focus early game, some CDR to spam more, late Obs Shard to help deal with tanks.

Example Build 12 (mislabelled as a second Build 11): Similar to Build 11 but cheaper by swapping pen boots for CDR boots and Chronos' for Soul Gem to keep the same amount of CDR but with a cheaper build.

in Build 4 I would get Mage's Blessing with Tiny Trinket then potions
1
Kriega1 (143) | August 28, 2019 1:58pm
There’s no point going into tiny trinket unless you’re building Bancrofts or Pythags on Agni, and in mid lane you may as well rush tier 2 Bancrofts instead. For ADC role you can consider that start since you need the extra pressure/sustain with more potions and because you want boots first almost always there.

Yes

I guess they want a build with a lot of power and speed? Regardless, it could have been phrased better.

Alkatraz2791 | February 10, 2019 4:38pm
i usually go with Bancroft's Talon , Shoes of the Magi , Spear of the Magus , Soul Reaver , Shaman's Ring , Chronos' Pendant what u think of that build? if more pen is need or anti heal i will pick Divine Ruin or Obsidian Shard for last item
1
Kriega1 (143) | February 10, 2019 6:06pm
Bancroft's Talon, Shoes of the Magi, Spear of the Magus, Soul Reaver, Divine Ruin, Chronos' Pendant is what I would build. Lategame sell spear of the magus for Obsidian Shard since you have some good flat pen from Magi shoes and divine ruin.

But in the current patch I don't really build Bancrofts on Agni (in conquest). I would go something like pen boots, magus, reaver, divine ruin, chronos' pendant, soul gem.

But the build you listed is fine, though I would get Shaman's after Chronos' Pendant.

i like agni a lot..but i fell him so slow...some tips or items that will help me feel more comfortable?
1
Kriega1 (143) | January 29, 2019 11:45am
Use instant cast on all of Agni’s abilities. Set ground targeter to on. I’ve covered this underneath the build.

Kriega, looking at previous comments, it may be beneficial to write up a small combos section for agni in your guide. Just a thoihht. You don't have to.
1
Kriega1 (143) | November 21, 2018 5:32am
I could but this isn't a guide and I can't be bothered. If you feel like learning them whether by yourself and/or from high level Agni gameplay and writing it up feel free to do so.

boogiebass (46) | April 2, 2019 10:16pm
A simple "no" would have been more than sufficient.

For build 3, isn't magus in there too early? I mean, the protection reduction is a bit overkill as second item?

Anyway, +1

Kriega1 (143) | November 20, 2018 7:00pm
No, Magus early is really good, essentially gives true damage early and when combined with an early soul reaver can mess up tanks early game. Was used quite often at the recent Smite World Championship if u watched it, mainly on the gods that abused it (Agni, Ah Puch, Zeus, Raijin and such)

Examples: https://smiteprobuilds.com/Builds?p_filters_page=1&p_filters_search=&p_filters_god=~&p_filters_pro=~&p_filters_opponent=~&p_filters_role=Mid&p_filters_league=SPL&p_filters_sort=~

Also with earlier Magus, don't need full stacks for true damage against squishies. And agni might not always get full stacks anyway.

Hey, Kriega.

In your Build 3, I was wondering if I could get your thoughts on Pythagorem's Piece as a possible situational alternative to Soul Gem.
2
Kriega1 (143) | May 8, 2018 1:20am
Honestly wouldn’t recommend on Agni, you want to have as much burst as possible as a mid laner. It’s more of a item for Aphrodite, possibly also Chang’e and Hel. Can also be good if you are playing a mage like Nox in support. I have seen it built on Agni by Dardez in a SPL match but that was because he went Agni support... If you want to help your team I would consider Gem of Isolation for it’s use with Rain Fire, which is especially useful if you have your passive ready. Otherwise, I would just get Soul Gem as it not only provides some burst but also some healing for teammates.
2
Branmuffin17 (394) | April 6, 2018 4:18pm
I never play this guy but I need to start doing so.

Build looks reasonable. Assume you like Chronos' Pendant very early for more ults.

How reliable do you find Spear of the Magus on him, with the combos you can do? I'd have assumed Spear of Desolation would be the generally better choice (due to the added CDR), though it would miss out on some of the stacking protection reduction if you can get those stacks regularly.
5
Kriega1 (143) | April 8, 2018 5:05am
Spear of the Magus can work on him against squishies and gods that aren't too tanky, like a assassin that built a Mantle of Discord or something. Having his passive Combustion up will apply all stacks of Spear of the Magus with once cast of either Flame Wave or Rain Fire ( Rain Fire is good for hitting multiple enemies to apply passive) , as the damage applies six times over 3 seconds, and you can finish up with more Rain Fire Bombs or the Flame Wave you didn't use. Even without the passive Combustion up, a simple Noxious Fumes (that is used after one second) and Flame Wave will already apply two stacks, allowing for high damage bombardment with Rain Fire. It is great for devastating any squishy god or one with medium protections. Even his Path of Flames provides a very good amount of damage over time if you happen to use it offensively. Chronos' Pendant is bought in the Spear of the Magus build as you lack the cooldown reduction you would otherwise get with Shoes of Focus and Spear of Desolation. Having Spear of the Magus with Shoes of the Magi means you don't need any other penetration, unless it's for anti-heal Divine Ruin (in which case you can slightly alter the build or go for build 2 instead), or against triple tank composition (in which case you will need Obsidian Shard, so with Spear of the Magus and Chronos' Pendant in the build you can afford to get Rod of Tahuti in the build.

I highly recommend if you play this god that you set all his abilities to Instant cast, you will instantly activate his 1 and either his 2, or ult for quick combos that would be much slower to pull of in normal cast. Of course though, make sure you have the ground targeter on to make up for using instant cast if you dont' have it on already.

Also if you go to here: https://www.twitch.tv/wlfy7
Even if he's not currently streaming, type !"god name" in the chat to get a general build for each mid laner, (except poor Ah Puch). e.g. type !zhongkui for a zhong kui starter and build).
