[ADC] Jing Wei Build

November 2, 2017

Update Log

Updated as of Patch 4.19

Jing Wei is a safe choice for an ADC in today's meta. She has several tools to be successful, and has incredible movement capabilities. She performs very well in the ADC role due to her ability to farm safely, and her passive, Rapid Reincarnation, gives her the ability to out-farm her lane opponent by returning from the fountain quicker.

Overall, she is a solid Hunter who has doesn't have all that much variety in how she can be built. Aside from the standard ADC power and attack speed, her kit also encourages Critical Strike Chance from abilities like Explosive Bolts. Because of this, she makes great use of Critical Strike focused builds.

This guide will be focusing on the Critical Srike build paths. A Qin's Sais build could work in theory (against a Geb, for example), but isn't usually preferred over the Critical Strike build. With Jing Wei's attack speed steroids in her kit from abilities like Persistent Gust, you want to take note that you don't overcap on attack speed when building her.

Critical Strike Build

As you progress through the match, this build will gradually give you great power and high DPS as you continue farming. When facing off against enemies, a combination of lifesteal and item passives like that of Poisoned Star's provides you with great boxing potential as well. The Critical Strike aspect will give you awesome damage potential, allowing you to be an offensive driving force in team fights late game.

Warrior Tabi

These boots will provide you with good early game power and lane pressure, as well as help you clear camps faster to maximize your farming potential. Also, Jing Wei's early game wave clear isn't the strongest among Hunters, so the added power helps in that regard.

You can opt for Ninja Tabi, but Warrior Tabi tends to be the safe choice moving into the rest of your build, due to how easy it is to overcap on attack speed.

Devourer's Gauntlet

Devo's is a strong item for the cost, and has good synergy with the ADC playstyle. As a carry, you will want to spend most of your early game farming, and occasionally boxing in lane. This item provides you with stacks that increase your power as you farm, and gives increasing lifesteal to help sustain you in lane when taking poke damage. As you farm, this will give you a nice power curve moving into the middle game.

The Executioner

As it is currently a very strong item, The Executioner can greatly benefit ADCs like Jing Wei. Providing power, attack speed, and penetration in the form of protection reduction, it covers all grounds as a solid item.

It is important to note that the protection reduction is applied by basic attacks. Therefore, hitting an enemy with a few basic attacks before executing your ability combos will help you maximize your damage output. This item also works well together with your other physical teammates, as your protection reduction will increase their physical damage on a target when ganking or team-fighting.

Poisoned Star

As a first Critical Strike item, this will give you nice boxing potential, as the passive reduces enemy movement speed and damage output. This will give you a nice power boost and allow you to play aggressively, relying on the movement speed in your kit to avoid being punished.

This is a core item in the Crit build, and provides a huge DPS spike when built after your first Crit item. Deathbringer will establish you as a big threat for the enemy team, due to your massive damage potential.

Wind Demon

Wind Demon is a strong choice that can give you some pretty insane damage potential, as well as some added mobility when chasing targets. Once completed, Jing Wei is pretty much a squishy yet evasive machine gun.
