Welcome to SMITEFire! My name is MattNorton365 and I'm here today with some Zeus builds. This is my first SMITEFire build and it will be a Work in Progress (WIP) as I add more information. I plan to make this an In-Depth Guide of the god. Please comment and upvote to show support. And don't forget to give me some good constructive feedback. Without further ado, let's delve into the world of SMITE with Zeus, the Greek God of the Sky.

Skills

One of the things I love the most about Zeus, is the synergies based around his charges. All of his abilities have some kind of synergy with the others allowing for multiple powerful combos.

Items

Below, I've listed the items involved in my builds, as well as a brief explanation behind why I chose them. I will be going into greater detail about the items and the kit (as well as Abilities) in later sections regarding Early, Mid, and Late Gameplay.

Every good build starts with a choice in Shoes. For me, I always grab Shoes of Focus, especially for Zeus. They give me a nice Magical Power, Cooldown Reduction, and Mana buff. The Cooldown Reduction and Mana buffs are more useful than the extra Magical Power provided by Shoes of the Magi. Plus, Cooldown Reduction will be a big part of this build.

Bancroft's Talon is a really interesting first pick for Zeus. I was playing with an online friend when I decided to grab it as Item 2. It shocked me how good it was because I normally go Warlock's Sash for Item 2. Bancroft's Talon excels at granting a large Magical Power buff when you're Health is low. This makes it great to us Detonate Charge if it looks like you may die as it will now deal a lot more damage. Great for finishing kills in tight situations throughout the game.

Warlock's Sash We put off purchasing this staple for one item round, but we're gonna grab it now so we can farm some stacks. Warlock's Sash is a core part of any Mage build due to the fact that it grants a large Magical Power, Health, and Mana buff that will be critical in the late game once farming is complete.

Things are starting to heat up now as battle become fiercer and early game weaknesses fade. Obsidian Shard is going to give us a fat Magical Power buff that will allows us to dominate battle with high damage numbers. The Magical Penetration will also allow us to deal with enemies who think they're better than us.

Chronos' Pendant applies a host of smaller buffs that will be really useful in combat. A nice Magical Power buff furthers our quest to gain insanely high numbers in that statistic. 25 MP5 is gonna give us some really nice sustain in battle and will complement Meditation nicely. But most importantly, we will get 25% Cooldown Reduction. Combined with the 15% from our Shoes of Focus, we will have a total of 40% Cooldown Reduction on our Abilities (the max amount any god is allowed). Feel free to unleash your arsenal through spamming lightning bolts everywhere.

No Mage build would be complete without this item, especially one that focuses on Magical Power. With a massive +125 Magical Power and 15 MP5, you would think the fun ends there. But this item increases your TOTAL Magical Power by 25%. Take a moment to stare lovingly at those Magical Power numbers. Now go vanquish your enemies.

Meditation Although our build containt a lot of MP5 buffs, Meditation is an essential pick for maintaining a full Mana pool especially in the early game when we will have less MP5 buffs. This doesn't need to be upgraded (unless you like the appeal of Greater Meditation or Salvation as we mainly grab it for the instant 75% Mana refill.

Eventually, you will be targeted. Your a squishy damage dealer and you're probably gonna be seen as a threat to your enemies. So when you find yourself in a tight spot just pop this and walk away. For 2s, you're Invulnerable. And with the power of Bancroft's Talon behind you, you should be able to finish the enemy off or survive long enough for reinforcements.

Summary

This guide is a Work In Progress (WIP). As such, more information will come when I have the time to post more. For now, enjoy what is posted. In the comments section below, give me some constructive criticism as well as requests for future sections. Thanks, MattNorton365.

I was in a discussion on another guide and it was explained to m from Zilby that Spear of Magus was a better penetration item. How do you feel about the comparison and why would you choose Bancrofts over polynomicon? Also what do you think about the book of Thoth instead of the sash?
Btw Nice starter build and hope to see the rest of the guide soon!
