Bio

This is a guide to swiftly deal with enemies using Zeus. You are building towards Power and Attack speed to always stay on the offense and to send your enemies running in fear of the lightning

You can use his Aegis Shield to initiate a fight or to escape with. It is good to initiate with due to the movement speed it gives you. If there is a group use your chain lightning, if not, then just use your AA (auto attack) to get some dmg and procs on the enemy god.

Once you have 3 charges on the enemy god/or gods, do not wait to detonate, this is the core of your power beside your ULT (ultimate). The only time you may not to detonate is when your teammates are chasing an enemy with the charges place, due to the slow effect. This however only works once all 3 charges are place and only last for 1.5 secs.

Pros / Cons

Pros:

    High Damage
    Good for single/group gods
    Strong Offensive
Cons:
    Fast but Squishy
Requires awareness of enemy gods to survive

on zeus i usually go rod of tahuti fatalis/winged blade chronos soul reaver/obsidian shard shoes of magi book of toth...with zeus's new 2 he doesn't need demonic grip like he used to anymore id prefer fatalis/winged blade over grip with the speed bonus since he not as reliant on his basic attack

I wouldn't go AA with Zeus but I understand your point Rinorim. I also agree that Spear of the Magus would work perfectly here. I've seen Incon play a casual game with Zeus, and the 2+3 combo is terrific as 2 apply charges, that's why I'd probably go for an ability based build instead of AA.

My build would be something like that :
Shoes of the Magi Pythagorem's Piece Spear of the Magus Gem of Isolation Rod of Tahuti

The last slot is for situationals : Winged Blade (against MID with slows like Poseidon), Divine Ruin against healers (instead of Pythagorem's Piece maybe), Breastplate of Valor against a physical mid or Chronos' Pendant if you really are ahead.

I'm not sure that Zeus needs that much cooldown, I would probably not reach the 40% CAP, but it requires trying! :)

Hastened Fatalis is great combined with Gem of Isolation, if you go AA if can be really interesting to see (then of course, Demonic Grip is better than Spear of the Magus. However you're really vulnerable to CC. Unless you have Hel or Geb to save you, it might be tricky to stay alive long while boxing. I'm not sure that you could outbox Freya, Chronos or even Eset for that matter.

At least, we can agree that Zeus is back! ;)

Still, I don't really think the Doom Orb works here. You'd probably prefer Rod of Tahuti. Also, it's good to mention starters. I'd go Vampiric Shroud + tier-1 of the Book of Thoth. Also, lifesteal is really valid on Zeus, Bancroft's Talon being my favorite, with alternative choices according to your opponent. Hastened Fatalis seems a bit weird to me... If it's for the extra movement speed (that I understand), maybe Winged Blade is a better choice, especially if you go with Shoes of the Magi instead of Shoes of Focus

The "new" Zeus has literally NO escape, which makes sprint (as Blink got nerfed) a really valid choice combined with Aegis Pendant.

Yep it was for the Movement speed and atk speed. I was building that with max CD from the Shoes of Focus and Chronos' Pendant. Then with Hastened Fatalis passive if anything survives your initial start up you can just chase down and charge up and detonate whoever escaping.

thanks guys. I actually thought about putting the Rod of Tahuti instead of Doom Orb, but it cost so much you probably will not be able to finish the whole build by time the match ended unless it gets really drugged out. I went with the doom orb for cost management. I did not think of Demonic Grip, that is a pretty good idea and goes for what I was going for. Thanks, I will edit that into the build. Thanks for the input guys.

I agree that Doom Orb needs to not be in this build, lol, but I'm onboard with the Hastened Fatalis. Zeus actually gets a lot of use out of his basics considering they apply charges, so he has to stick on his target. Zeus doesn't have much to do in-between uses of Chain Lightning, so making him a left click monster is nice.

Another possible thing to do with Zeus is slap on a Spear of the Magus, and if you're really going for it, put on a Demonic Grip too. Talk about awesome! It'll take people by surprise for sure.

I know, but the main thing they will be changing is how his shield will work. I will probably do an edit on the guide once the rework officially ships.

I find it strange to release a guide on a god the same day it has been reworked.
It is not a full rework, I agree, but still, his gameplay will change a bit.
