Introduction

Hi and WELCOME to a full guide for Chang'e the moon-flower dancer <3
Since you are here, it can only mean 3 things. First,you want to try her out. Second, you picked her by mistake and have no idea how to dance and third,you just love me!
Now sit back,grab a piece of pizza and let the magic surround you (or swallow you)...jk

Chang'e is one of the best:
1)Solo laners, as she can hold on a lane for almost full game and send Pipi* to burn some fat.
2)Support,as she can heal tons of hp and stay alive during team fights -quite important to use your 2 wisely!-
3)Burst mages, yes she is not Scylla or HeBo but they can't heal right?! Chang'e is a powerful mage if used correctly and a really easy target if not.

*Pipi is how I call Jade Rabbit,her passive. We will get to that soon.

Pros / Cons

Pros

+Really good lane clear after lvl3 skill level.
+Powerful ult to help on team fights or secure kills on runaway gods.
+Great heal for team and self sustain.
+Incredibly fast when using skills to chase or escape.

Cons
+Squishy but can be hard to kill.
+Cannot heal a single team-mate,that means that if they go yolo they risk it.
+Low defense,but <2> comes to save the day!

Skills

Passive: Jade Rabbit or (Pipi)
Chang'e can purchase or sell items from anywhere and her Jade Rabbit companion will fetch them. When the rabbit reaches the store then returns, the transaction completes. Only one item can be purchased or sold in this way at a time. Chang'e also gains +25% movement speed with no backpedal penalty when using her dances.
Passive can be seem bad,as it does not help on damage abilities or as a booster,but it's quite helpful for a Solo and Mid Laner. This way you can send your beloved rabbit to purchase items while you hold up your lane,or go grab a jungle buff. (the rabbit is not moving fast tho) Also,the +25% speed booster is awesome while avoiding ults,strong skills and run away from scary enemies.
<1> Crescent Moon
Chang'e flings a crescent moon in an arc, dealing damage to all enemies in its path.
This is your main damaging ability. You will find yourself using it in solo lane to clean up a wave of minions in 1 shot or cutting off the life of your enemy. (I like to call this, my blade.) The blade has low cooldown so its a great way to deal dmg on nearby forces. Also, if used on duo lane,your adc will prob hate you because he wont be able to build stacks,so care about that. I'd call it a secure kill skill.
<2> Moonlit Waltz
Chang'e performs an evasive spin dance, unable to be hit during the action. For each tick of damage from an ability that was avoided, Chang'e restores mana to herself and her allies.
Apart from its long cooldown,this ability can pretty much save your life,make you faster to escape. As mentioned, you have to be smart and use this ability wisely. I'd never use it aggressively if I was not familiar with it. I only use it aggressively when i know no one will Gank me sooner or later and also knowing that i can secure the kill with 1 skill -that's all the time you got-. Its good to have it,but don't use it if not necessary. It is able to avoid any kind of ult,cc and get you out of traps.
<3> Moonflower Dance
Chang'e twirls, scattering flowers around her, and healing herself and all nearby allies and damaging nearby enemies. Moonflower Dance also reduces the healing of all nearby enemies.
What can I say about it? It can do everything. Heal,dmg and healing reduction to the enemies hit(=if you facing Hel,Aphro or any other high sustain god,it means that they heal wayyy less than you do=they will die asap). with this skill,Chang'e can go against other heals pretty much unstoppable by them.
<Ultimate> Waxing Moon
Chang'e's Waxing Moon dance is captivating, with this dance dealing damage and stunning enemies in front of her. Each subsequent god that is stunned is stunned for longer than the previous one.
By using your ultimate,you can stun multiply gods up to 5seconds. This ability can easily turn the tide of a team fight, and make Chang'e an excellent team player. It also puts out a decent amount of damage,which can easily 1 shot squishy targets or secure a team-mates kill. It can also be used as combo with Poseidon,Ares,Medusa,HouYi and many other gods Ultimate.

-How to- Play Chang'e

Chang'e Can be said to be an unbalanced god,but if you get to know her,you will be pretty much one of the hardest targets to get to.

Playing her can be tricky.
Some times you will need to rush into the fights in order to get a kill or heal up your fellows as they output their dmg and they are about to die,bom saved the day and got Assist.
In the other scenario,you will need to be careful,as you hold a your lane while your adc is back at base or if you are solo/mid. In anyways,you need to be careful of ganks,and not be greedy,it will pretty much lead you to a 1min re-spawn time while your lane is being focused.

About duo lane, Chang'e needs to keep up with heals and wards,as the adc will pretty much do the rest. No,you don't sit back and wait,like tanks,you are active and ready to go anytime possible,near your adc but yet far enough.

Joust Chang'e,well you can play both roles of healing and mage damage. You are there for your team-mates but yet you can greed for a kill or two,but don't be stupid.

A TIP: keep listening to your game audio,gods that are going to Gank,are usually doing sounds while waiting,buffs-pots-skills, be ready to go away or get in before they do.

Conquest Chang'e can be hard to get used to. You need to be smart enough to hold your lane and send Pipi back to base for you, or wait until the enemy draws back-or dies- to go back for a refreshment.
As much as it counts ,on Solo and Mid lane, to be ready to fight and always be ahead of your laner, being a support it's also important,and hard because you are not a tank. No do not build tank,no point,you are not Geb and Sylvanus. You are a bad *** mage that can heal,kill and dance. So you as support,as mentioned on duo-lane you just need to be active and heal your fellow adc who is going to kill everyone else late game.

Assault Chang'e is easy or bad,there is no in-between. You will either keep your team alive and put out some dmg,or go into team fights yolo and die in 2sec.

Counters / Countering +Duos

Counters

Agni

Chang'e is weak against Agni's burst damage early and late game. Better have a team-mate when you go against him//or make sure you are better than him on either dmg or cooldowns.

He Bo

He is just a NO,do not go against him in anyway unless you go someone to stun him. He Bo has enough burst dmg from 1-3 and short cooldowns. You cannot heal all that up mid to late game.

Nox

Since the new nox is coming,as well as the previous one,Nox has a frequent silence,which can actually cause many problems on either escaping ganks or bursting her down. You still got chances,but care for wards.

Serqet

Usually on leagues your team either has her or you have her banned. You are not able ~no-one is~ to go against her Croud Controls (CC)....its just TOO MUCH for a mage to handle..not to mention the damage taken+ poisons.
PS. if the enemy team has her..well..byee
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Countering
Loki
You can spam your 2 when he ults and use 3-1 combo. He is dead even attempting to approach you. BE SMART and wait him to move first. (On team fights,you may have problem with his ult since he is coming for you..build Warlocks Sash asap
Chaac
I really don't know when they pick Chaac what they are thinking...like really..he cannot clear waves early game as you do,his sustain can be excecuted by your Moonflower Dance and his ult is just a silence...guess what..you dont care,just skill-run out of it.. do NOT use your (2) unless you are going to die.
Aphrodite
Well..what can I say? Divine Ruin + Moonflower Dance is -90% healing. I guess you don't need anything else. Burst her down before she does. (save your 2 for ganks or kisses)
Hel
As well as Aphro,Hel is based on heals. Your Moonflower Dance should be enough for early game to burst her down with your (1). But never underestimate a Hel player. Be careful bcz her Dark Stance-3 is way too powerful for your hp early game.
Ares
Solo Ares is based on Chains (1). Make him miss this skill and you are pretty much close on killing him. He will rush for Stone of Gaia...make sure you get Rod of Tahuti when he gets defs and then with Spear of Magus he is dead in few hits.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Duos

Chang'e is pretty good with any kind of adc,she is not Aphro to kiss them,but she works well with them since she is a-bit supportive when needed. Apollo , Anhur , Artemis are good picks with you.

She also works well with Aphrodite since they can heal each other,burst the enemy and ult to protect/burst down people. Usually this kind of combo can go in huge team-fights and get out alive and full hp.

Hades is also a good duo laner with her since she can ult on his ult. If Hades has Spear of Magus or you do,then the enemies are dead and you or him have at least a triple.

Items

SO lets get started.

**I wont bother with starter items as they are pretty obvious, I will keep on to main builds**

Solo & Mid (Conquest)+ Joust

Bancroft's Talon:
100power and 12% lifesteal (+additional lifesteal for hp missing) is a great starter damage item for Chang'e as she will need sustain to keep on holding her lane clear. You can also start with warlock's sash lvl1 and upgrade it,but this is up to you and also depends on your enemy solo/mid god.

Shoes of focus:
Cooldown is 100% needed for your abilities, extra 30 damage wont do anything if you cant stay alive and spam your 1.

Warlock's SashWarlock's Sash:
Plenty of players think of it as a useless item,but on Chang'e, as well as Scylla, it's pretty helpful as it provides you max health and power boost,which you need at the start.

Book of Thoth:
Talking about stacks,these are the best stacks you can stack on! gives you power and MPS which is really needed for your abilities because you are just so MANA HUNGRY.

Void Stone/Spear of the Magus:
These items can be both used equally,Spear of the Magus will help you to damage the target and pierce into it,in addition Void Stone will help you get into team fights with a but more defense on your back.

At the end replace Vampiric Shroud with Rod of Tahuti.

Rod of Tahuti: +125power +15MPS (+25% magical power) Pretty much its a basic item for a mage to have,everyone has it because it is just so helpful and it can give out alot of power.It will also double the (+%amount) of power in your skills as it gives an other percentage as well.

Support (Joust+Arena)

Heartward Amulet: probably one of the best items coming with S2. Heartward amulet is great on supports as it ensures none is getting out of Mana ever again,as long as you have Mana,your team can stay alive because they can still hit and you can still heal.

Chronos Pendant: So i am sure you are going to say why I am not using it on my burst build. Well,it's why I never found it so useful,instead of Talon always. But as Support,you are going to need max CDR the fastest possible and this is a great way to get a bit of power as well-since you are not going to burst,but it will help you on heals-.

Lotus CrownLotus Crown + Sovereignty: The best combo you can get I'd say. Lotus Crown is also one of the good items came with S2 and it helps support and healing gods way too much,as well as their team-mates. (105physical def per heal and MPS/HPS combo,could not it be worst for the enemy?! Really.

Rod of Asclepius: last but indeed not quite useful at start,it comes to turn the team-fights into immortal battlefield as it help the supporter to keep the team up and ruining.

Arena (damage)

Travelers ShoesTraveler's Shoes: It's quite useful on arena even as a Burst mage,since you will be focused from everyone, so it helps you to escape Ganks -even Loki!- also combining it with your 2 it pretty much will keep you alive all the time.

Breastplate of Valor: Since you are on Arena,and since you are not a main healer now for your team,but you want to go and grab few dozen kills,you will need some def and CDR to help you. This is how BV is useful on Arena.(combined with Chronos Pendant gives 40%cdr)

Assault -support

So you are lucky to have a healer,or you just grabbed it for a fellow player who wanted to carry the team with the god you had. Well,you are blessed!
You will find this build similar to Support build because it IS,on assault,the game picked you are a support healer,so get along with it and heal you team to the win!
only this time,you need your team mates to heal by themselves. That's why you are going for Pythagorem's piece.

Pythagorem's Piece: as you can see from the build,it has an Aura of +10% magical lifesteal,that means that the other squishy mage on your team will be able to stay alive as he will healing up by himself w/o needing you! but guess what,you will still need to heal because they will focus that high damage mage. So no matter what you do,mages are the squishier -Chang'e is on the list too,but its hard to kill if not Ganked by 4 enemies- and you will end up being near them all the time as they carry your team and you carry them.

Also in these build I have skipped Sov. as your tank is going to get it pretty much. Make sure you let the tank know you will get Heartward Amulet first,so you don't end up wasting you gold.

Team Work

Team work is SMITE and SMITE is Team work. If you do not cooperate with your team,you will most likely have a greater chance of epically losing.
Do not be toxic and never be bad to your teammates,even if they don't match your team potential...make friends and just play with them if you don't like random players.

Chang'e can be really useful on team fights as she can output damage and heal the team all the time. Thing that Chang'e cannot do, is go against 2 adcs 1v2...trust me,you are not going to make it out alive. Unless they are lvl10 and you are lvl15. Or they are so bad that can't target.

Summary

At the end of the day,Chang'e is a great god to play with. She can be a blessing into team-fights and a curse against healers and high sustainer'(s).
Chang'e can do almost every role, even jungle, no kidding,she cant jungle..at least I never tried it after all the 2k worshipers...well maybe i should do it once..but I know it will be a failure.

ANYWAYSSSsss I hope you liked the Guide. If you got questions let me know and I will be more than happy to get back to you!

Leave comments and rate please if you'd like to see more.

PS. this took me several hours,so even if you don't like it..
Well..Your approval is beyond irrelevant.

Have fun playing the best dancer!

and care..don't drink the elixir of immortality..and don't fall for that HouYi...he doesn't worth the immortality she pays for him,all in despair and crying.

Hey and thanks a lot for your feedback!!
Yes I was thinking on updating the guide when Ah Puch came out,but I was waiting for his nerf first.
He is not such a big problem now (after the nerf) since you can use your 2-3 to heal up his poison or avoid it if possible.
Ah Puch is one of the squishy mages of the game,yes his ult is HUGE..ya ya I know,but atm he is countered hard by Poseidon and any main mid burst. ~Usually AhPuch is going mid since they feel too op for solo...but you will come across him late game,where he will just use him 1-3-2 on you and wait till his cd is up again. That means that you can use your (3) Moonflower Dance and (1) Crescent Moon Dance/Blade combo and he is pretty much dead by that time.

I feel sorry that a amazing guide like this has no comments by this very own moment.
One of my favorite gods to play solo lane is Chang'e. Whenever I don't feel like putting on those diamonds on my aphro, I get my good old friend Chang'e, one of my first gods. I still have mastery level 2 with her, but that's because I only play with her on Conquest. I loved your build, but ... you get stacks really late on ... weird, but I do the same with aphro -q

This guide is amazing, and it helped me out sooo much, cuz I'm teaching a friend of mine how to play Conquest. Since I'm done with my Isis teaching, I needed to start teaching her solo. And I was like : " try Chang .... I dunno, you may like her ! " * Friend gets to mastery level 5 with Chang in 2 weeks * ... so yeah ... Thx for the guide <3

Thank you so much, I am happy it helped you since it took me few hours to make it,its my very first guide anyway..
I am also really glad your friend as well as you like my fav god!
Yes,I am building stacks late since I either will need more damage or just go for burst Soul Reaver.
I will try to keep this updated with every new patch (after the nerfs) and I hope it will be shared as well.
Thank you again!

I have to be honest, this is one of the best guides I've ever seen.
I really like Chang'e, I use alor of healers and support-ish gods and she is my favourite, healer, damage, escape from everything.

The thing is that I usually play alot of Arena, are your build made her almost untouchable, the death rates is always 3/4 and I even had matches with 0 deaths!!
I'm trying to ger her in mastery X (I have V now) and I give credit to this marvelous guide.

One thing to add: since the new god Ah Puch, the most threatening thing was the slowdowns that his skill and other god can do, so, when I see the enemy team has an Ah Puch or various gods with slowdown, I buy Winged Blade(and the speed active, but that depends) at least is useful when his ult hits so I can run away, get to my team mates, heal them and run away again. (at least works fine for me)

Keep doing these guides, you are awesome.
(sorry for my english, tell me if theres any mistake)
