This Ymir build is all about hitting hard. It can out DPS just about anyone else, and anyone it doesn't, it freezes.
This Ymir build is focused around all three of the competitive game modes and works well in each one.
For starting items, you will want to pick up Tier 2 shoes, 5 green pots, and 5 blue pots.
Starting actives can differ from game to game based on your role and enemies, but some all around good actives are Curse, Sprint, and Blink.
Upon your first back, you have to make a decision based on your bank situation. You have to decide how far you want to go into warlocks and if you want to finish shoes and delay stacking. Rule of thumb:If you can buy tier 2 or 3 of warlocks, do.
On your second back, you are either going to finish shoes or finish warlocks. with any leftover money, pool that towards starting obsidian shard.
Third back and afterwards, just go down the build. Picking up Polinomicon>Rod Of Tahuti>Soul Reaver/Spear of Desolation.
Remember to pick up wards during backs when it is convenient, and don't force yourself to stay in lane to pick up an item when you are too low on health
For your skills, you are going to want to Prioritize your abilities in this order
4>2>3>1
This means investing your first 2 points into your 2 and skipping the upgrade at level 8 enable to upgrade your 2 to max a level early.
(At level 8, you can only upgrade the 3 or the 1, and skipping lets you upgrade your ult and your 2 at level 9)
First part of playing this build and god is getting comfortable with the delay on his abilities. every one of Ymir's abilities takes time to actually work, even his ult.
This means that you will have to predict enemy movements, and lead your abilities.
As far as tips for specific abilities go:
Ice Wall: Ice wall takes a moment to erect, and this is a valuable tool to a smart Ymir player. A smart player will use the wall as an escape by walling directly below him while walking forward, allowing only him to get through, and stopping any pursuers.(Note that this is only possible while unslowed, and while wearing your tier 2 or above shoes.
Glacial Strike and Frost Breath: These abilities are your bread and butter. allowing you to do over 2000 damage with full build and a polyslap. all that is really needed to keep in mine is that both these abilities have delays, and you must lead them.
Shards of Ice: Ymir's ult isnt that special, besides the monsterous damage. It does 1100 base at max rank, and it has %150 Scaling. One thing to remember however is that this ability takes time to cast, and you can't instantly pop the ult for quick damage. it takes just a little under a second, but that time is more than enough to be trouble.
This build is strong against any squishy god,and has immense dps, coupled with great cc. However, it is fairly weak to people buying beads, or gods with escapes.
The latter drawback can be negated by escape baiting. To escape bait, simply walk towards whoever you want to use their escape, and chances are they will. If someone believes you will try to freeze them, they will most likely jump, dash or teleport away, allowing you to put a wall behind them, catch up, and pop them.
Other Cons/drawbacks:
Cant jungle
Weak vs certain gods, namely Ravana
If a support chooses to focus you, you are easily shutdown.
Low defense, relies on CC and ability to dodge and kite well to survive.
Hard to learn

First, nice name =)
Second, you indicate that this build should work in most competitive modes. However, if we're talking about Conquest, you might also want to indicate which role. I know Ymir is a mildly popular pick for Solo right now, and with no Watcher's Gift, I see your start being designed more for that than Support, for example. At the same time, you don't suggest ANY starting items, and if you're in Solo, you probably don't need so many Mana Potions...so I'm a bit confused. If you don't mind explaining a bit further, it would be appreciated.
If you just created this guide for the Ymir contest, I'd suggest putting in some time to flesh out the guide with more detail, add some BBcoding for better presentation, etc. If you ask nicely, there are definitely people here that can help you. If you just created the guide for S#!+$ and giggles, don't worry too much, and if you'd like, I can offer more feedback.
