Introduction

This is my guide over the primary build I use when playing support Ymir in conquest. Please do remember that this is completely my opinion and preference. It is a slightly more passive version of what most players would consider a well made build. Give it a chance and see if this strategy works as well with you as it does with me.

Items

Remember that when playing conquest or any game mode in smite for that matter, all items are situational. Some more than others obviously but you see my point. The only real unchangeable items in this build is the breastplate of valor, bulwark of hope/void stone, and
winged blade. Don't go wild with your build changes but making subtle changes such as replacing your Shoes of Focus for a more aggressive Shoes of the Magi is perfectly fine.
Just be careful with your changes and be smart.

Pros / Cons

Pros-
1.Health and protections
2.Setup potential
3.Cooldown
4.Zoning

Cons-
1.Player Damage
2.Laning phase
3.Objective Damage
4.Penetration

Ranked Play

First off, I would advice you not play any form of Ymir in Ranked Conquest. But if you do decide to play him in the support role with my build then there are three things to remember

1.You should be focusing on the late game

2.You should be aware that you will more than likely not do a ton of damage. You are basically walking cc/ultimate

3.You will be rotating rather late due to your low farm potential

Hi alsome22,

Build order is interesting, but I think I understand it, if you have put that thought into it.

Mark is definitely passive, and it makes a lot of sense with your comment at the bottom about not using this for ranked.

I'm guessing that you're using Mark as your only physical defense early, with Winged Blade giving you the ability for quicker rotations between the 5-10 minute mark. Makes sense that you'd want some magical defense, since you didn't get any to that point, but people usually prioritize physical D (besides Mark) before magical, as it helps with tower and minion damage as well. Only time magical would probably be prioritized would be against 3 magical enemies and 1 of them is the ADC. I guess the health from Winged Blade and Bulwark of Hope sort of make up for that.

I'm not convinced that Gem of Isolation is key on him...sure, it adds some slow top of his Glacial Strike, but it usually won't really help that much on his ult (because it activates on damage and his ult charges before it hits...and his Frost Breath at higher ranks will freeze the enemy for the entire duration of Gem's slow, making the passive worthless. The only combo I see this really helping on is keeping the enemy locked down from a Frost Breath to Glacial Strike to maybe Ice Wall to Shards of Ice, helping a bit more to keep the enemy in the AOE range. Pretty sure you could get more functional items instead of Gem, but you don't really offer any alternative item suggestions.

Void Stone last is a bit weaker at that point...the 20 protection reduction would generally be more helpful earlier in the game.

If you're considering this as an entry to the Ymir contest, would definitely want to see the guide fleshed out quite a bit.

This guide was created late at night on the 4th, as far as I can tell, with the guide maker commenting (per below) at 12:01am. Interesting that you tried this out on one or two conquest matches, created an account (at 12:00am or later on the 5th) and also posted at 12:38am. Could be you'd already tried the build out yourself without the help of this guide, but could also be that I'm smelling something fishy.
