Introduction

Hey there,

My name is Crushburn and this is my first Guide on this page but I thought with all those new Items, Stats and Focus I could give you a little Feedback on how I play the new god Xbalanque.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Cons

+Ranged God
+Great early game damage
+Global Ultimate
+High Utility God

-Very Squishy
-Hard to Master

.

Skills

Dead of Night is Xbalanque´s passive. It gives you 5 additional physical power for every enemy you kill within the time limit of your ultimate Darkest of Nights and stacks up to 30.

On first sight it is quite a good passive because you can gain 30 additional physical power but it almost never happens that you can kill your enemy within the time frame

Xbalanque´s first skill is Branching Bola it is a toggle skill and consumes mana while you use your autoattacks. It boosts your attacks with up to 50 damage on rank 5 and also hits enemys behind your target for 30% of that damage but doesn´t apply on-hit effects.

This is a really good toggle it gives you some extra power when you need it (Example: Godfights/Tower/Phoenix pushs). The multiple target hit also helps you clearing minion waves very fast or hitting/finishing off enemies hiding behind minions/towers.

His second skill is Poison Darts it hits enemies in a cone in front of you dealing physical damage and enemies hit are poisoned. The poison does extra damage over time and lasts for 3 seconds. Poisoned enemies are also slowed for the duration.

Poison Darts can come in quite handy to finish off or chase fleeing enemies.

The 3rd skill Xbalanque uses is Rising Jaguar. Xbalanque rushes forward and jumps into the air. While in the air all enemies around Xbalanque are hit with darts doing physiscal damage. Enemies poisend by Poison Darts take 50% additional damage.

Rising Jaguar is in my opinion the best skill for Xbalanque´s early game damage combined with poison darts. The 50% additional dmg can lead to a lane being under half life if hit properly.

Xbalanque´s Ultimate is Darkest of Nights it shrouds your enemies in darkness for 3s
and your movement speed and attack range are increased for that time. When enemy gods move at the end of your ulitmate they are stunned.

This is not only the first global ultimate introduced in SMITE but it also is a really good Ultimate because it is so versatile. You can use it for the following:
    - Finish off enemies
    - Stop enemies from fleeing
    - Get back into range of enemies
    - Combine it with other ultimates
    - Initiate Ganks/Teamfights
    - Escape Ganks
    - Help other lanes securing a kill
    - Help other lanes to escape ganks
    - Rescue other peoples lifes

Items and Abilities

I will fill in the Item explanation and Abilities after they are updated here on Smitefire

Stats

With one of the latest patches Stats were introduced into the game. They allow you to purchase additional stats for your champion to increase your power even more.
After the last update you can only buy as many stats as you have levels which makes it 20 stats maximum.
Each stat costs 300g and its price inceases by 10% everytime you purchase this stat.

I recommend buying the following stats after finishing deathbringer:
Lifesteal up to 40 or even 50%
Attackspeed up to 2 attacks per second
CritChance up to 30% or even full
The rest of your stats you can put into physical power

Playstyle

As I mentioned in the Pros and Cons Xbalanque is a very squishy god. That is why you have to be very careful and you should learn when to chase/towerdive an enemy or when to back off.

The next thing to learn is how to put your skills together. I start maxing Rising Jaguar and Poison Darts because of their great synergy. This synergy is what makes your early game damage. Try to master that.

Later you use those two skills to disable/chase/finish of enemies who are retreating.
In teamfights you should try to hit everyone with your Poison Darts and then jump over them with Rising Jaguar. But be carefull not to get caught by stuns or disables while your in the air.

I don´t know if it is intended but if for example Hebo hits you in the moment you beginn to jump your flying like 60km in the direction he hits you. One time i was a bit over the middle over the lane and he punched me into his tower.

Always try to hit them with your normal attacks and finish them off with your skills.

Laning Partners/Bewar of ...

Laning Partners

Xbalanque excells with the following laning partners:

Ares is a really good laning partner because he can slow enemies with his Shackles he can slow and harrass enemies. He can also use his Searing Flesh to harrass them even more.
His ultimate No Escape can be combined in two diffrent ways either you initiate with your ultime Darkest of Nights so Ares can engage with his ultimate and you have a double stun or if Ares gets enemies with his ultimate you can hit your ultimate two seconds after he started his or start it after it has finished to stun enemies with Purification Beads or Aegis Amulet.

Sobek is another well suited laning partner for you. He can grap enemies with his Charge Prey and toss them into your own minions almost guarantuess you a kill. With his Tail Whip he has another good disable and Sickening Strike can help you finish enemies off.

Laning partners you are good with:

Ymir is one of the Gods you are really good with. Because Ymir is really tanky and his 3s Stun with Frost Breath normally should give you enough time to kill the enemy. But do to Ymir not having that much focus in the beginning it perhaps is not enough thats why I put him not in the section above.

All the other gods with stuns and great harrassment are good for you to play with but remember if the other one is a carry too it will hurt your team in the mid/late game.

Beware of...

The one you should fear most is Odin when he has his ultimate Ring of Spears especially when he lanes with a Zeus because you can´t get out of it with your Rising Jaguar.

Another one is Ares because he can slow you with his Shackles and harrass you with Searing Flesh which is extremly dangerous.

The last one of the three most dangerous enemy gods for you is Ymir. When he goes for focus you wil be frozen for 3s from Frost Breath almost guarantees your death.

Other gods you should be aware of are:

Anubis he can kill you in one combo with is Mummify and Death Gaze

Loki is extreamly dangerous to almost every squishy god if you are not aware of him and let him get kills early game.

Kali is a real thread early on because of her massive early game damage with her abilities and her massive regen with Siphon Blood

You should also be aware of any other champ with stuns or disables.

Last but not least never underestimate your enemy!

Arena

Everything I told you up to now is also true in arena. You should try to get most kills early on and not to die so you can snowball into lategame.

Before minions are spawned try to harrass almost every enemey with your Poison Dart and Rising Jaguar combo. So they either have to back of or are all half life. Giving you an advantage to be level 5 earlier and kill them off once you reach it.

Proof

As you can see above I think my build is viable. I wasn´t able to play all my rounds in conclusion to another because sometimes Xbalanque got banned or picked by another player. So I put my games together. I also included an Arena match.

Summary

Xbalanque is a very squishy but fun to play god. You really have to learn what you can do and what you can´t. His utility is amazing and if played right you really can excell with him and carry your team.

I hope I gave you a good insight on Xbalanque and I would like you to comment and rate my guide.

Since it is my first one and I am not a native speaker I welcome every constructive feedback.

See you ingame

A very nice build, I especially liked the Frostbound hammer and Qin's for getting bonus health early, but why don't you build Frostbound and Qin's first and then Fatalis?

Alright, keep thinking Fatalis is good. Just don't come crying when you get owned vs. an Xbalanque with a proper build.

Tell me what is wrong with the fatalis, and ive played a few good xbalanques and I have done better than all of them with this build. Until you can show why the fatalis is so bad, which i honestly would like a reason, Im sticking with it.

I have played this build a few times, and the fatalis is amazing in this build. The early attack and movement speed is great noting how you use your escape to initiate. And since his starting attack speed is .91 he desperately needs the 35% attack speed. Other than that for team fights, the guide is not finished, as has been said multiple times, and as should be common smite knowledge, a carry shouldn't initiate, he goes in after initiation with a poison darts and crouching jaguar to damage the whole enemy team.

If the build is not finished it shouldn't be published. Work on it until it is done then publish it.

Lost a 24-4 game. team fight, your kills mean absolutely nothing if you don't know how to team fight. You getting fed is not telling us the build is good, it is showing us that your test is biased.

Weill I don't know, did you use it when it was in the game? I tried it a bit and believe me.. There were moments I'd kill players in 2-3 shots, because all of them were crits that would do ~400-500 dmg, so yeah, sometimes rage helps so much, because it sometimes can launch so many crits in a row.. Unless they nerf/change it, so yaah.

While it is very useful early game, if you plan on pumping crit chance during end game, it becomes a useless item. With this build, you'll end up with 26% crit rate. Every stat you buy adds 5% crit rate.

And also don't downvote a build just because of your own taste.... downvote it if it's not helpful/bad, if it's good, but you don't like the style of the build, just leave it alone. How many people did try it out and like it, get good score? If it was bad, this would'nt have gotten upvotes at all....

It isn't according to my taste, it's according to facts. Fatalis is bad advice, period.

Your score means nothing, its what you bring to the table in terms of teamfights. Fatalis is NOT helping your team.

Quoted:

In solo queue, teamfights don't mean much. But in high level play a teamfight decides the game.

Anway, most guides get upvotes based solely on the build. The upvoter will hop on their account and play a game vs. bad players. They'll get a good score and come back here ti upvote it. That's why I only read guides if the teamfight section of the guide is packed with info. Based on this guide alone, I would get crushed in teamfights.

This fact alone is what makes the textless builds and the guides so similar. Nobody even reads the guide, so why even include a guide? The people who benefit most and the people willing to teach read the guides, and they read multiple guides to get the best advice.

Actually, if you're having more fun in teamfights then yeah, but it can also help carry the team to victory, for example: if the whole enemy team is in right lane destroying the tower and you're the only one alive, you can go to left lane and destroy everything, thus pushing them back, you can destroy a tower in about 10 secoonds when you finish the build.

I don't believe it is necessary to add that into the build. By the time you have all of your items, you have a base of 30% critical chance. That's at least one in every three regular attacks making crit. 5% really won't help that much, since you'll already be critting a lot.

Looks like a promsing build, tried it out abit in solo practice, will try it in conquest tomorrow.. Will see how it goes. I wonder how would it work if we change something to rage (which is temporarily removed from the game), but when it returns though and if they won't change the stats to the item. If you happen to not know the stats of rage.. here they are :

+20 Physical Power
+30% Critical Strike Chance
+15% Attack Speed
PASSIVE - If your in hand does not crit, your critical strike chance increases by 5% (max. 10 stacks). Resets on successful crit.

Total Cost: 2755

Tell me if you think it would be still possible to put this in and not ruin the build
