~Introduction~

Hello everyone, this is ThePerfectPrism and this is my Terra guide! This guide is a continuation of Tlaloc1050's Terra Support guide, and, with his absence from the site, I've decided to continue his work by using his information on my old Terra guide! So all kudos to him for letting me use his information to keep a good Terra support guide on the site!

~Pros/Cons~

Pros
Cons

~Skills~

Passive - Standing Stones

Terra's abilities create Standing Stones. As long as any Standing Stones are on the battleground Terra becomes Knockup immune and her Basic Attacks will Slow enemies and deal bonus Basic Attack damage. This bonus damage will trigger Basic Attack Item Effects, but not Ability ones. If Terra Shatters any stones she will retain this buff for an additional 3s after all of the stones are gone.

Notes and Tactics

Standing Stones is especially useful against gods like Awilix and Geb, whose kits have knockups. In addition, this can be used to aid in poking the enemy with your ADC, because the slow would reduce the chances of them missing. However, it's risky because of how close you have to get to the enemy to deal your basic attacks.

Force of Nature

Terra gains momentum, causing her to dash forward and deal damage to enemies she passes through.
Terra may charge through her own Standing Stones to Shatter them. If she does she may charge one more time within the next 3s.

Notes and Tactics

This is Terra's main source mobility, and her escape. She only moves 35 units, which isn't a lot. However, if used to destroy a wall (or two) from Crushing Earth and/or a Monolith, the dash can be used again. This ability alone is mediocre, but when combined with Crushing Earth and Monolith becomes her bread and butter.

Crushing Earth

Terra raises up two Standing Stone walls on either side of a target location. As long as both stones stand, Terra may activate this ability again to slam the stones together, damaging and Stunning enemies in between for 1.5s.
These stones can be Shattered into a cone of shrapnel with Force of Nature, damaging enemies in the area.

Notes and Tactics

Terra's source of hard CC. Use this to set up enemy gods for more damage. When aiming this, try to predict where the target would be. Most people when hearing the ability audio step backwards. Something to keep in mind is that targets hit in the centre of the ability will take full damage, while others hit on the edges will take half. However, damage shouldn't be your main objective when casting this.

Monolith

Terra summons a Standing Stone monolith surging with natural energy. The monolith heals nearby allied gods every .5s for the duration but can be detroyed early if hit by 3 enemy basic attacks.
Terra can Shatter this stone with Force of Nature to Root enemies in the area for 1s and create a damaging area that lasts 5s.

Notes and Tactics

Monolith is where your sustain comes from. It heals over a slow process of 10 seconds, at a stationary position. Deploy this in a place where you know you'll be staying, near the minion wave when laning for example. This is also your wave clear when used in conjunction with Force of Nature. Shattering this on the minion wave deals a fair amount of damage to help your ADC clear. This is why I recommended that this be leveled up right after Force of Nature, at level 2. Using the root to engage a fight is recommended.

You can say that the same could be done with Crushing Earth for more damage (placing it vertically along the wave). However, prioritising Monolith is better for the sustain and your damage will increase subsequently with it, as opposed to prioritising Crushing Earth where your damage may be higher but your heal undeveloped. As a support, damage is not your main objective.

Earthen Fury

Terra channels her strength into the world around her, buffing her allies and debuffing enemies for 10s.
Allies gain 5% damage mitigation and protective stones that heal the ally if all 4 are activated as well as a Heal over Time.
Enemies receive 5% more damage from all sources and harmful stones that damage the enemy if all 4 are activated.
Stones are activated when an ally or enemy receives damage.

Notes and Tactics

Don't ignore the ability targeter shown when activating this ability. It's there to show the range in which you can activate it on your enemies. Earthen Fury is especially strong when used in a teamfight. You have to be near your teammates for this ability to take place. And this can easily turn the tides of teamfights, since your allies will continuously heal and get a burst heal after some damage, and your enemies will take a burst damage spike after your allies hit them enough.

~Ability Combos~

Notes and Tactics

This is useful for engaging, or poking and getting out using the second dash.

Notes and Tactics

Use this to target a single god, with your teammates nearby. The stun and root allows sets up the target for a kill. Typically, this would case the target to burn their beads.

Notes and Tactics

I would only ever use this to clear a minion wave late game, if I'm by myself and there isn't a fight going on currently.

~Gameplay~

Early-Mid Stages
  • Start off in the duo lane

  • If wards were purchased, deploy them shortly after the first minion wave

  • Play cautiously and conserve mana. Keep an eye out for ganks

  • At around the 8 minute mark, begin rotating to other lanes and back. Keep warding the duo lane

  • When you have at 3 full items up, you can afford to be more aggressive. Always try to participate in teamfights

  • At the 20 minute mark start warding the fire giant

The Late Game
  • Typically after the 30 minute mark

  • Stick with your teammates

  • Watch your phoenix. If one is down, ward in-front of it to prevent an opportunity for a backdoor

  • Keep in mind that one deicide could be the deciding factor as to whom wins the game

~Honorable Mentions~

DucksRock for making these awesome headers for each section AND more !!! <3
Tlaloc1050 for giving me his Terra guide info to keep an active Terra support guide on the site
This random site I found for some specific BBCoding coloring references.

~Conclusion~

Thank you so much for reading my support guide for Terra ! Know that I'm not (yet) an Earth Bender so there maybe ways to play Terra in which could be better for your playstyle then mine, so, remember, this is just a suggestion ! Don't blindy follow it ! Love you all <3

Very nice guide. Allthough to many spoilers.
It's like you're trying to hide the guide from people. Not only that, the spoilers make the guide look pretty empty and aren't as eye-catching as other approaches to making a guide.

Other than that the guide is well made. You explain Terra very well, and your BB coding is on point. Build is also good. +1.
Perhaps remove the spoilers and use tables, they seem to be liked alot by the community around here.

Uh I didn't mean it like that :P

Well Imean, it looks empty but.. well it's just me, Oki? Like, I haven't scrolled through hundreds of guides and such.

I just like tables etc.
Plus, with the right BB-coding one can turn a wall of text into the guide of the year, without using spoiler, but ehm, s ok.

I still like your guide though! Truly astounding work.

I might look like a douche to you, sorry :(

Also I'll reboot "Prism.exe", hope that helps you? :|

When I joined, it seemed like spoilers were the norm and tables were barely ever seen.

Branmuffin17 (394) | September 2, 2016 10:17am
That's accurate, Techno. Funny how things go. But...how about tables INSIDE OF SPOILERS?!?

Personally, I like spoilers...I can easily open up the section that I want to see, without having to scroll through huge walls of text, pictures, and other fancy shmancy things.

One compromise I made in talking with nanoyam was to put the icons of the items within the spoiler on the outside...brings in some color and breaks up what would otherwise be spoiler after spoiler. I've done this for the majority of my guides.

Either way, I'm fine with how Prism has organized his guide. Maybe a slight bit on the heavy spoiler side, but, again, it's personal preference.

You did join half a year ago though. Plenty of time for change.

Well atleast people liked the tables in my guide.
That may be because I made them really well but I doubt that. Got 3 upvotes for just tables.

Nice guide i will agree that spirit robe is not necessary i would definately exchange it for another item but other than that good job!

Why did this get so many downvotes? The build works great, and all the necessary information is there.
1
ThePerfectPrism (56) | August 24, 2016 4:50pm
From quick math this got 2 downvotes. One thing that happens a lot when you publish a guide on a new god is that you get **** on by the other ppl who never made a guide before, and this was their first one. Happened to my Chiron guide and now to this guide. But it's ok tho, since this will stay strong till I tire of the game, hopefully never #Preach

Been noticing a lot of great guides have been getting negative votes lately. One that comes to mind in particular is PapaMurmz' Anubis joust guide. This is why I dislike the downvote system.

I have a nagging feeling there are trolls here that are downvoting just because...or maybe some newer member that didn't get a response he/she wanted and started taking it out on others. Just a guess, no official proof.

I guess a 3rd option would be, people have their own "rating" systems. They may be fine with the content, or they may not even read the content, but they see the build, and don't agree with it for whatever reason...e.g. "that's not how I like to build" or whatever...and so they downvote because they don't agree with it or don't prefer it.

First I reply with a very lengthy response, now a review? I've gone mad!

Let's start by saying excellent guide PerfectPrism, keep up the good work. You truly explained how the goddess' abilities work and the math for the monolith was also a nice detail to add as well.

However one criticism, I do have is the lack of proper explanation of a actual laning phase. Yes, yours was short and sweet, but how does one properly handle a laning phase? A few quick pointers scattered in the early game section would've been nice. And Ritual Dagger honestly. I don't like the item in my opinion, not that useful. Could be swapped out for something better. However this is my opinion!

Excellent guide and I be hoping to read some of your other works later down the line. Keep it up Prism!

This was more of a release guide. I still didn't have a close up experience with her. I'm waitin till next patch to update all of my guides, so wait around that time for this guides update :3

Can we get a combo guide in as well? Trying to learn terra, and I've seen people pull crazy **** with some combos. I would just like a list if you have it.

I'll do it just for you, darling.

Cyberhawk94 (4) | August 5, 2016 7:40am
Why not drop Spirit Robe for Hide of the Urchin? Urchin is WAY tankier, and doesn't overcap your CDR.

Another options could be Swapping Ritual dagger for Telkhines, but I like the Urchin swap better.

Terra doesnt even really need full CDR, just 20%+, so hitting 50% is just wasting a lot of potential
1
ThePerfectPrism (56) | August 5, 2016 7:02pm
Not in all cases.

Spirit Robe has it mitigates damage, it means that damage mitigated is just plain out NON EXISTANT, meaning that I'm a Monster, Release The Kraken! so on so forth, doesn't do as much damage to you, and that's IMPORTANT for Terra. No the tankiest, base health/protection wise.
1
Aaronsharkgo2 (2) | August 21, 2016 9:55pm
While I do agree that Spirit Robe is a highly overlooked item, we have to see the scenarios in which this item will be useful. Mainly high CC teams. Someone like Ymir or Kumbhakarna can use up your passive almost immediately, and if the team is smart can wait out like 2 seconds before going on the offense.

However PerfectPrism I do agree Spirit Robe is a fantastic item when it comes to taking hits through hard CC, but most people won't use it due to the protections bonus. +40 protections? Why would I get this for a item that can give me more protections in the late game? H.O.U (Hide of the Urchin) is often one of the most useful items for protections out there. While 15% Mitigation is nice. I feel that unless the enemy team consist of almost all opponents having hard CC there is not much use of here.

Sorry, for this lengthy response. I just want to give my opinion on the matter of Spirit Robe. While highly overlooked with good reasons sometimes. It's not a bad item by any means. It's just in a pretty weird spot right now with the tree it's in offering more protections in general than this item. As I have mentioned yes! Yes! Yes! This item is good for heavy CC teams. Perfect the guide you have is honestly amazing. Better formatting than my guide. However, one criticism I must give is the fact, that this guide is better than mine. Ha! But in all seriousness you have really good intentional in becoming a very well-known member with guides like these. Keep up the good work!
1
Arvorus (10) | August 5, 2016 8:56pm
You actually are overcapping CDR, though, even without her ultimate.

Also, I think that Midgardian Mail outclasses Witchblade. The 15% attack speed doesn't matter much on supports, and the aura, while nice, is not as strong as Midgardian's passive, especially when you should be taking autos for your team anyways.
