Introduction

Hello my name is Mastersky30, thank you for taking the time to look at my CHRONOS build I hope it helps you. This will be my first build on SMITEFIRE so bare with me. CHRONOS is the first god on SMITE that I got to diamond rank. When I first started playing SMITE I never would have thought that CHRONOS would become my favorite character out of them all. At first the Hard difficulty on him and the other gods threw me off because I was a new player, but as I tired more gods the difficulty suggestion stopped bothering me, and I noticed (for me anyway) that gods with a hard difficulty were way funner to play as. To Help work your way through the guide I color coded some things.

1. Gods will be listed as Light Blue.
2. Items for this build will be listed in Orange.
3. Skills will be listed as Light Green.
4. God Attack types IE:Magical Melee/Range, and Physical Melee/Range will be listed as Pink.

Items

Items, Items, Items what to buy. Playing as Mage on Smite is were I have the most fun in the game but thats me. Over time and the many, many hours of playing and trying different combos of items this build just feels right to me. I use this build on all the Magical Range Mages in the game, with the exception being Aphrodite witch only one item changes, and the others being the Melee Magical Mages. First off playing as a Mage your abilities are your bread and butter so churning them out faster than your opponent is key. I like to start with Shoes of Focus for the cool down and speed boost to start the game. Next I get the CHRONOS' Pendant because its super cool having an item named after you :D, But really its for the cool down and MPS. Im not 100% sure when this happened but recently its gone from 25% cool down to 20% but its still better than nothing and will give you the same effect. Now that you have your first two items and almost max cool down reduction its time to add all that sweet power. Buy the Book of Thoth next, you can start building stacks and by the time end game roles around you should have it 80% or maxed. Since CHRONOS is mana based he gains a ton of Magical Power from this item with its passive converting 3% of his mana to Magical Power. Next in line is the Obsidian Shard for its 33% Magical Penetration to make sure your moves are supper effective and KO your opponents :D. This next one took a ton of testing to choose, I used to go with Warlock's Sash but over time I came to prefer Bancroft's Talon. It gives a much higher Magical Power boost, has a 12% Magical Lifesteal and its passive is great for longer battles as the more your hurt the stronger your attacks will be. To finish off your shopping list is Rod of Tahuti the mother of all Magical items with a +125 Magical Power and a passive of +25% Magical Power. Its the most expensive item on the list and is at the end because getting it early on would take a ton of time/gold, and would have little affect as you dont have much Magical Power in the lower lvls. Once you buy all these items and reach level 20 your total Magical Power comes out to 680 out of 900.

Skills

CHRONOS has a really nice set of skills and can be very devastating when used in the right order, But they can also be hard to master as his ultimate attack or last skill does no damage and takes key timing. Playing as CHRONOS your most likely going to be in the Middle Lane of a 5 vs 5 match as most Mages do. During a 3 vs 3 and an Arena Match your team will be backing you but this all still applies. Early on I use the least amount of mana possible to clear lanes, let the minions tank the lane and just use your basic attacks to earn gold and kill the wave. If an enemy god tries to start a fight launch your Stop Time ability. It shoots in a strait line and hits two times, the first doing damage and then the second time doing damage but also leaving them stunned for 1 second. This leaves you time to A.(attack them) or B.(Run and get more distance between the two of you). If you should choose A, Follow up with your Time Rift ability. It makes a rift on the ground much like Janus does, but is smaller and blows up. Having the enemy stunned is a great chance to use this ability as they cant run and if cast fast enough will blow up too fast for them to dodge it. As your clearing the lane of those minions and your feeling over run, or an enemy god as killed your minions cast your Accelerate ability. Using this will give you a movement speed and attack speed buff for a short time, on top of that the attacking movement speed DE-buff does not affect you during this time allowing you to pummel the lane. Using Accelerate activates CHRONOS passive ability Wheel of Time. This ability has four options to choose from 1.(Heal 1.5% max health per secound), 2.(100% mana refund on abilities cast), 3.(+20% Magical Power), 4.(+35% Magical Power contribution to basic attacks). If your just clearing a lane choose 1 to heal or 4 to push the lane back faster. If you choose A Cast Accelerate first and make it stop on 2 or 3 then use your other ability's. The way I play I combo Stop Time, Time Rift, and then follow up with Accelerate to finish them off or chase them to get the kill. Now onto CHRONOS ultimate abiliy Rewind. This can be used a few different ways, Use it to heal yourself during a battle, if you find yourself being over run by someone your able to use this and get full health (depending on how fast the fight is going,I say this because Rewind only goes back so far about 5-10 seconds and it only heals you to what you had during that time period) and win the fight most of the time haha. Another way ive used it when fighting to use it if someone is chasing you, cast it and it takes you back behind them and you can either attack or go the other direction. Later on during matches your able to toss out these over and over again because of how fast the cool down will be, use your Stop Time to clear lanes and Accelerate to dodge attacks you'll have enough mana to sustain yourself for a while.

Pros / Cons

Pros to playing as CHRONOS.

1.Fast Movement, able to gain movement speed over and over again used for catching other players, ruining, dodging attacks.
2.Skills give a good combo setup for tons of damage.
3.Controls the field of battle alone or with a team, Keeps enemy on edge moving so fast and tossing out stuns left and right.

Cons to playing as CHRONOS.

1.He is a Mage and squishy
2.Takes time to master ability's, timing/combos.
3.Has trouble with limited range of attack, some gods have a further reach than he does.
4.Slow early game, better end game god.

Hi, I really loved reading this guide, and it has helped me play Chronos (I think I did that right). Chronos is really the only mage that appealed to me and I love that someone experienced with him put up a guide. I agree with LinkNightblade however, on the use of bb coding. It can be useful and makes your guide look much more professional. Thank you for the guide!

Hi there,
Some criticism if I may.
Your guide is good and nicely detailed. However instead of using colors to denote Gods, Abilities, Items and typings, I would suggest using BB Coding to do so. It's fairly easy to use and get the hang of and will make your guide much nicer. BB Coding also provides a way to mouse over said coded word and it will display its details without actually having to go back up on the page to look at something there and losing your place while reading.

To BB Code abilities and gods, put their name or ability name in a double set of square brackets. So putting Serqet in a double set of square brackets will give it coding so it looks like this Serqet and her ability Deathbane. (Quote this to see what I mean as any BB Coding for Skills, Gods and abilities are shown in plain text when you do)

Otherwise, nicely done and written.
