Introduction

Hello everyone, and thanks for taking a look at my guide for Thor. This is my first guide, so if there are any alterations that should be made to it, or it's flawed in some way, be sure to voice that!

Anyways, when I first bought Thor I was really bummed out because of how poorly I performed with him, but after long hours of experimenting with a good way to play him, I went from doing horribly to really well.

This build is a damage-oriented build with some a lot of survivability if played correctly.

Bear in mind throughout the guide that you still must be very cautious as Thor early in the game.

Items

This build focuses on a pure powerhouse damage build, lacking tanky aspects. If played correctly, you can be lethal enough and quick enough to avoid being damaged too much, and still get a kill or two off.

The items will maximize the Physical power aspects of Thor, dealing tons of damage in conjunction with life-steal and ridiculous critical hits and critical hit chance.

Refer to the build purchase order for the items.

Warriors Tabi -> Speed and damage
Frostbound Hammer -> Slows the enemy, allowing your auto attacks to be used for maximum efficiency (You'll end up relying on your auto attacks later in the game, don't worry, you'll do ridiculous amounts of damage with them.
Devourer's Gloves -> Life steal and damage, also with the stacks, will max out your physical power bar. Even without stacks with all the maxed out items, your physical power bar will almost be max. With stacks you will be amazing.
Brawler's Beatstick - Crit, health steal, and attack speed. The healing debuff is great for dealing with those with healing capabilities too.
Deathbringer - Even more crit, you will crit a ridiculous amount and for upwards of 600 per hit, it's amazing.
The Executioner - Physical power, and attack speed.

Again, to play Thor effectively you must rely on your auto attacks as well as your skills to play optimally. You will be so powerful with your autoattacks in this build alongside the slows, they won't be able to escape you.

Skills

Thor's skills are really preferential, with a major focus on Mjolnir's Hammer. This ability is Thor's bread and butter, as it is capable of dealing SO MUCH damage in a fight, especially if you get really accurate with it.

Let's go over his abilities.

Passive: Warrior's Madness - This passive ability grants Thor with an additional 20 Physical Power for every enemy god within 30 feet, with a maximum of 3 stacks. This makes Thor achieve even higher heights of damage in team fights, a true monster. It's ridiculous how powerful Thor can be with this build even out of team fights, but in them, he's just a monster.

#1: Mjolnir's Hammer - Thor throws Mjolnir forward, doing 50 / 90 / 130 / 170 / 210 (+30% of your physical power) physical damage to all enemies in its path outward and half that damage on its way back. Enemy gods hit by the throw take double damage if hit on the return as well.

Cost: 70 / 75 / 80 / 85 / 90 mana.

Cooldown: 14s.

As I said before, this is Thor's bread and butter, especially in the early game when you have to fight the enemy god or you decide to gank. Make sure you hit them at least on the hammers return (You can aim it a little if you move around)

#2: Tectonic Rift - Thor slams his hammer on the ground, causing a fissure to appear in front of him, instantly slowing enemies by 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40% for 3s. One second after the slam, spikes erupt from the fissure causing blocking movement for 4s.

Cost: 75 mana.

Cooldown: 17 / 16 / 15 / 14 / 13s.

This is also an amazing ability for trapping an enemy god in a lane or a jungle and aiming your Mjolnir's hammer for maximum effectiveness. This ability can also stop enemies from chasing you or your teammates in jungles.

#3: Berserker Barrage - Thor spins his hammer around him, doing 20 / 40 / 60 / 80 / 100 (+25% of your physical power) physical damage every .4s for 2s. Thor is immune to knockup and slows for the duration.

Cost: 70 / 75 / 80 / 85 / 90 mana.

Cooldown: 13s.

This is a great ability for escaping slows and and finishing off an enemy after trapping, mjolnir's hammering. Save it as an escape if necessary as Thor's ult isn't a reliable escape tool.

#4: Anvil of Dawn - After a short buildup, Thor leaps into the air. While in the air, Thor can target a great distance away to come crashing down in the area, dealing 150 / 200 / 250 / 300 / 350 (+120% of your physical power) physical damage and stunning all enemies in the radius for 1.5s.

Cost: 80 / 90 / 100 / 110 / 120 mana.

Cooldown: 90s.

This ability is beautiful for ambushing and sometimes escaping. Head on attacks with it aren't optimal and this ability is kind of lack luster. Use with caution.

Creeping / Jungling

Jungling and Creeping isn't a problem with Thor as he'll be so powerful with such high amounts of health steal that you'll creep farm or jungle incredibly fast and you won't lose health really. (especially at later levels)

Summary

All in all, this guide is aimed at being a complete destroyer for Thor, and if you play smart, you won't need to rely on tanky items. This is for a player that can use caution and self restraint, as Thor gets readily ganked if you get too greedy. If you use this guide well, you'll have no problem dominating on the battlefield.

As time goes on and I'm not so tired, I'll probably end up adding onto it, be sure to offer suggestions if you have any or criticism, but this build is what I feel Thor was meant for.

If you play Thor to the best of his ability, he's one of the best, most underrated gods out there. Be sure to play carefully early on so you can get your items sooner.

Please refer to each chapter of the guide for greater understanding of how to play Thor, I will continue to add onto it and make it easier to understand as time goes on.

You should use icons in each of your individual chapters that have skills or items involved. Other then that, it is a well put together guide, but I don't agree with frostbound. Frostbound is just not worth it.
