For 6s, Izanami throws her kama sickles even faster and more furiously. While active she gains Attack Speed, and her Basic Attacks no longer return to her, instead applying Bonus Damage in addition to 100% of her Basic Attack power per hit. This Bonus Damage applies to all targets, including Structures.

Introduction+God Overview!

Hello! This is my first God Guide for one of my favorite hunters to play! After my friend made a God Guide for Ratatoskr I decided to try my own. After using this build and having my friends enjoy it, I've decided to make this guide!

Izanami is an ability based hunter with the potential to tear through structures and defenses with ease! As with most hunters, most people would consider building crit on her, however I believe that this is unnecessary as Izanami's main way of doing good damage isn't through basics. Now with this in mind, let's see how this build and her abilities actually work.

Every God has Their Graces and Falls

PROS: Izanami is able to dish out huge amounts of damage to towers, objectives, pheonixes, titans, and the like.
She has the best wave clear out of all of the hunters in the game as her basics go through the wave and back dealing damage. This allows for less manna/ability usage, getting to lane at the beginning faster, and pushing/out-clearing the opposing duo lane.
She can deal great amounts of damage with her 3 damaging abilities all game.


CONS: Like other hunters, Izanami is extremely squishy.
Her escape's invisibility does not scale in the same was as Ao Kuang's or Loki's as it only scales with how you level the ability. She can also be taken out of invisibility when damaged, so she is prone to abilities such as Kukulkan's Whirlwind or Chiron's Masterful Shot.
Her ult can be tricky to hit and doesn't always do enough damage to ensure the kill.
Her escape takes a second to actually dash so she is vulnerable.

About Izanami's Passive and Abilities

Izanami's Passive is called Death Draws Nigh. As Izanami's health drops, he attack increases
for a 4% increase with each 15% of health missing to a max of 20%. This is a nice passive that can save you from certain situations. Say, you are against the opposing hunter and he/she crits you. You run the risk of dying here yet your passive allows you to get that extra burst that saves you while taking the other hunter down. Although this passive is nice, don't get too confident. Always know when to retreat on low health and don't go into fights where you run a great risk of dying due to your low health.

Her first ability is Sickle Storm. This ability is a self buff that always lasts for 6 seconds. THIS ABILITY ALONE ABSOLUTELY DEMOLISHES STRUCTURES! This self buff increases attack speed and doubles the damage from what your basics would do. The sickles also no longer return to Izanami while this is active. This buff is great for cutting through other God's defenses, but this buff also applies to structures! This makes Izanami a valid split pusher and is a great addition to the team to burst down any tower, pheonix, or any objective!

Her second ability is Spectral Projection. This ability is your finisher! Izanami sends forth a demonic visage of herself to strike down her enemies, damaging and slowing all enemies in a line. If an enemy is killed while slowed by this ability the slow will be increased by 6% to a max of 30%. This ability is great for hindering gods as it does a great amount of damage with that added slow. This ability is also for early wave clear as your basics won't completely kill the wave early on.

Her third ability is Fade Away. This ability is your escape. Izanami descends into the underworld, becoming Stealthed, and leaps away from her current position. Like Ao Kuang, attacking of getting attacked during stealth breaks Izanami out of it. This ability takes a second to dash so be careful when using this to escape. The timing means the difference between life or death...or in Izanami's case half-death or more death.

Her ultimate is Dark Portal. This ability is much like Nox's Siphon Darkness as you place it down it explodes. Unlike Nox's Siphon Darkness however, it explodes in less time and silences after it explodes on the Gods it hits. This attack also has a smaller radius as it has a radius of 15, so placement and timing is key with this ability. It's a killer on gods who are trying to run away or when engaging with your other teammates. You don't want to place it directly under the god as that gives them time to move away from its radius. You want to time it right and lead them into it to ensure it hits and combo up with Izanami's 2 and then activate your 1 if the 4+2 combo doesn't finish the job.

Items!

Like I have explained before, I do not favor crit items on Izanami as combo-ing her abilities is more effective than her basics. This is why I believe it is better to build power before any crit.

Starting with Transcendence is better than the other stacking items as you don't really need that early lifesteal or not to get the increase in attack speed as mana is vital to any ability based god and this allows plenty of it along with extra power! Transcendence is also
good to have as with it giving you manna, you no longer need to carry mana potions so now you can pack some wards to give you and your team more map awareness!

Warrior Tabi is also of course an essential item. It gives you that movement speed that every God wants and power. However, I have found that Ninja Tabi can work for you who want a little more to your attack speed, but I would not personally use it over Warrior Tabi.

Asi is a good item to get for your third as it provides life steal, penetration, and attack speed for a low cost! It is nice to have for the early-mid game shredding of towers in your lane.

The fourth item is objective as I have found that building Titan's Bane or Qin's Sais both work in this slot. However, the extra attack speed that comes with Qin's Sais would probably work better for this time in the fight as it gives you that extra shred to guardians or warriors while providing that extra attack speed so you can get more out of your 1.

Titan's bane after Qin's Sais is great to have to just have the maximum penetration so no objective stands in your way. It you build Titan's Bane before Qin's Sais you will have more structural penetration at the cost of attack speed.

The final item being Bloodforge is more of my personal pick. This provides a great increase with the added 75 power along with more life steal. However, some may want to substitute it to fit their own personal tastes. If you still want that crit item to possibly burst with your 1 go ahead!

Team Work Makes Dreams Work!

Team work if vital for any team and God! Izanami is no different! Izanami can work well with most guardians, however she works better with some guardians over others. The best guardians that work with her in the duo lane include: Ymir for his freeze and set up to allow Izanami to easily hit her Ultimate and hit some nice Sickle Storm attacks, Athena for her taunt to draw in enemy attacks while Izanami dashes away or to set up attacks and her ability to teleport back to Izanami whenever she gets caught in a hardspot either it be a gank or Izanami being caught splt pushing, and Khepri for his sweet roots and grabs as well as having the ability to save Izanami from death.

Of course Izanami is squishy and is a hard hitter, so she is likely to be targeted in team fights. It's good to stay close to your teammates and help push and poke out the other team while providing slows with your 2 and the sweet structure damage when pushing a lane or an objective.

You do not want to be caught by a jungler attacking your backline or to not be caught alone! Ganks can be your worst enemy! Positioning and map awareness is important so that is why I recommend buying wards to help you and your team out!

All in all, Izanami is a fun ability hunter that can be devastating to defenses and objectives in the right hands and I hope you enjoy my first ever god guide. It may not be the fanciest, but I hope all this information aids you to mastering a great hunter!
