Introduction

Chang'e dances around the battlefield inflicting pain on her enemies and healing her allies

Most People Build Chang'e completely wrong.

If you have ever faced a Chang'e in, smite you'll likely notice that they build the Shoes of focus and Chronos Pendant. I want to stress that Chang'es cooldowns are already low so at the most, you just need 10% CDR.

Heal's scale with damage on Chang'e, so it makes sense to build her with lots of damage and heal buffing items. A good player with this build will be able to kill almost anyone with two abilities late game.

all healers received large healing nerfs in season 4, including chang'e. However, she now has one of the best burst heals in the game. They buffed her scaling on her first and third ability to compensate.

Chang'e Needs Mana buff desperately from levels 1-10 after you hit Level 11 you should pursue damage buff. However, if you have an assassin on the team, it's probably better to give it to them and just buy power pots.

If you are playing as chang'e in clash it is paramount that you get the late game mana camp as it gives you good free cooldown and a significant amount of mana.

Pros / Cons

Pro's

-High Damage
-Rediculous team fight presence
-Strong Midgame Lane preassure
-High sustain

Con's
-You die quickly when unable to use abilities.Silences and Stuns are a death sentence
-Can be a kill stealer easy
Very vulnerable to anti-heals and CC

Summary

This Chang'e build will allow chang'e to cut through the extremely high defense and still have utility and healing available to help herself and her team.

Please do not stack as a support as the adc and mid will likely be stacking also. It will just slow down the momentum of your team. It makes the adc cry at night.

Yes, stacking as support is a terrible idea, and your team will hate you.

I do not agree with some of your item choices for the first build. It might be a damage build but I do not think its not cost effective nor helps her early on.

First item choice is generally up to the person playing Chang'e although more people would say Shoes of Focus. Second item Book of the Dead although is not cost effective. 2800 second item (2600 next patch, point still stands) ia not exactly a good idea. Her early game is not good and getting Book of the Dead second does not help her in that. She already has healing for small bits of sustain she can make do to get lifesteal, if you want, later on.

Book of Thoth and Obsidian Shard should never be potential last itmes. You get Book of Thoth early on for the mana sustain, it would be too late by the time you get it to stack it for it to be effective. If you want to stack it should be bought 2nd. Penetration should be in every build, especially in a damage oriented build. Spear of the Magus would be a good choice since she "dances" abilities constantly, making the stacks worth it.

Soul Reaver is eh on her. Considering she weaves her abilities quite alot it does not make too much sense. Rod of Tahuti is standard on mages so no problem on that.

For Grandmaster position it would make more sense to see more of the second build, albeit more CDR than that. And not even support role. Mid, solo, and even Jungle role can use that build quite effectively. Not to be rude in anyway but I dont see the grandmaster expertise in the first build at all. There also would have been more descriptions overall. Like a lot more.

I'm also not overly thrilled with this bill nor the lack of explanation as to why certain items were picked. I know this is an old guide, but it by far from the "only" way to build Chang'e.

Hey there,
How do you recommend building her? I just can't get a good (effective) build.

Thanks

It depends on the mode, but the Book of Thoth is a good starting item. After that, get your boots: either Shoes of Focus or Shoes of the Magi. After those, get the Rod of Asclepius to help with your healing. Then maybe Spear of the Magus, Obsidian Shard and Rod of Tahuti. Throw in a Pythagorem//'s Piece] instead of the rod if your team needs more sustain/healing. As for a starter item, I'd go with [[Sands of Time if you're comfortable with her healing or Vampiric Shroud if not, but the sands will serve you better.

Whats your opinion on shield of regrowth?

It can work on Change, I would use most of my build and just replace obsidian shard or spear of desolation.

It gives her cooldown and movement speed, as well as a bit of defense and sustain. I think it would probably be a good early item to help with survivability, Chang'e is very late game.

Overall it would be pretty good on her depending on your playstyle.

Made an account just to say this is 100% accurate. Chang'e has no need for high CDR, maybe not even RoA. I'd also suggest always getting Sands of Time.
