Bluestone Pendant - Helps with early clear, could be substituted with Mark of the Vanguard for more protection.
Warrior Tabi - Gives Herc an early game power spike, could be substituted with Reinforced Greaves (not recommended though). Hercules thrives on early game damage, as well as not dying.
Shifter's Shield - Makes Herc's early game damage last longer, gives decent protections.
Shield of Regrowth - The most BS item in the game. 20% CDR and a miniature Sprint for only 2100 gold. Gives health, HP5, MP5, CDR, an extra escape tool, and an extra chase-down tool. Build on Hercules every game.
Hide of the Urchin - Gives the most effective health of any item in the game, but requires stacks. Only purchase if you are confident that you will get it stacked. Not recommended for extremely slow games. Could be substituted with Spirit Robe for CC Reduction or Mantle Of Discord for CDR.
Mail of Renewal - Allows Herc to walk into a teamfight and heal for the majority of it. Helps with the low amount of mana in this build, also gives him much-needed CDR. Not recommended if other team is buying a lot of anti-heal.
Blackthorn Hammer - Situational slot. Good for when teamfights go bad. If you have gone through most of your health and mana without getting a Mail of Renewal proc, this item gives you a free "Get out of Jail" card. Substitute with Pestilence if the other team has a lot of healing. Substitute with Hide of the Nemean Lion (Solely because he's Hercules) if the other team has a lot of basic-attackers (could also use Midgardian Mail, but not recommended). Substitute with Winged Blade if other team has a lot of slows/CC.
Level 1 - Driving Strike gives the most damage, as well as an escape if things get messy.
Level 2 - Earthbreaker helps with clearing and gives Herc a combo opportunity, but only try to Earthbreaker->Driving Strike this early if the minion wave won't kill you.
Level 3 - Normally, Mitigate Wounds will help you heal any damage you've taken since level 1, but you can also go for driving strike to help clear.
Level 4 - If you took Mitigate Wounds at level 3, take Driving Strike. If you took Driving Strike at level 3, vice versa.
Level 5-20 - Normally, I would prioritize Excavate, Driving Strike, Mitigate Wounds, then Earthbreaker. At level 5 though, if you aren't looking for a kill, take Driving Strike for better clear.
