Introduction

Introduction

Hey guys, vICE here bring you yet another ultimate guide to pure pwnage, this time i'll be looking at Artemis.

Artemis is in my opinion one of the best gods in the game. She has great utility which can be used both offensively and defensively combed with high burst DPS to help you take down your opponents quickly.

In advance, sorry about any typos. Hope this guide helps someone. Upvote if it did. Downvote it if not.

Skills

Art's Abilities

Transgressor's Fate

- The Snare
I recommend you get this at level 2 and leave this as your last priority.

Triple treat ability here. (1) you can use it as a ward, which is vital. It lets you see if your opponents are incoming, if they're setting up ganks, or if they are in key points on the map like Gold Fury or Fire Giant. (2) They can be used defensively. When you being chased place one of these bad boys down as you turn a corner. It's going to make your enemy navigate around it or you'll get them snare them letting you get out of dodge city. If your smart you'll place them down in narrow corridors in the jungle for a guaranteed snare. (3) Later in the game they can be used more often for adding DPS to your burst or trapping you enemy in place after a stun.

Note: An Enemy can get out of your snare with use of a jump or dash.

Vengeful Assault

- The Speed Attack
I recommend you get this at level 4 and make this your priority over (Suppress The Insolent) after you get (Suppress The Insolent to rank 4).

With a barrage of arrows ready to be deployed at any second you'll leave your enemies fearful having them run away at your very sight. This ability is where the majority of your DPS will come from and should be reserved for the right moment during battle. Combined with your snare or stun your attack will almost always result in a kill or at least a retreat back home for your opponent.

Suppress The Insolent

- Rain of Arrows
I recommend you get this at level 1 and make it your priority until rank 4.

This ability is great for a whole lot of reasons. (1) Upgrading this to rank 4 can will one shot the archer creeps which will help you get full XP, gold, and stacks for your items. (2) At any point in the game this ability is and deliverers high DPS. I recommend you only use it to harass your enemy when they are near their archer creeps (in the early game) as it will not kill off the minions until rank 4 as mentioned above. I also reserve this for the right moment during battle, it's usually after battle when the enemy is trying to run away. Launch this attack on them from a far to get the kill. I advise to never chase a runner down for a kill. Usually they're just leading you into an ambush but if you can this ability can also be used to slow them down. (3) If your team mate is being chased you can help them by raining down some arrows on the enemy, you can slow enemies trying to run away from you, or you can just pick up an easy kill if you spot anyone will low health. (4) At rank 4 this ability can be used to jungle effectively.

Kalydonian Boar

- The Boar
I recommend you get this at level 5 and make it your top priority.

This ability can be used both defensively and offensively. Defensively when your being chased and are low on health and are desperate to stay alive or when you want to save an ally from the same thing. But for the most part this ability will set you up for the onslaught. Activate this ability when charging into battle. Stunning your enemies for a few seconds will allow you to burst DPS them down without any retaliation and get the kill. Or if the opponent is low on HP and trying to get away you can active this ability when your in rage to stop them. You can combo this with a almost every god in game to ensure a kill. I recommend to never used this in jungle unless you have direct line of sight.

Note: The Skill Chart above might be off due to me not remembering each level but the descriptions here should give you the idea I was going for.

Items

Art's Items

I recommend you start off with Tier 1 of Warrior's Tabi and Hand of God.

Warrior's Tabi

- Having 10% movement speed is crucial in the early game. It allows you to fall off quickly, dodge incoming attacks more effectively, and if you need to quickly chase an enemy down for a kill. Note that this item becomes less important as the game progresses. Leave it alone at Tier 1 because you'll get your movement speed from other items.

Hand of the Gods

- (1)This activated ability allows you to kill camps as early as level 1 before your creep ever reach the enemy. I strongly recommend to go for the Health Buff first. (2) This item allows you to be a little more aggressive in the early game as well as tanking some damage from your enemy making them waste their mana. Hand of the Gods can also be used to kill off enemy creep quickly this includes in late game taking down Bakasura and Bastet's Ultimate.

The second item I recommend getting is Heartseeker.

Heartseeker

- This item gives you a lot of bang for your gold and not only those it give you great DPS it also increases your movement speed by 10%. The only down side is it will reset your stacks upon death, so play smart. Be defensive for the most part and when you see an opportunity to kill an opponent go for it but don't become over zealous. Be smart and the longer you stay alive the more often you get kills and the more gold you have to buy your next item.

The third item I recommend getting is Qin's Blades.

Qin's Blades

- This item gives you health for survive-ability, it gives you attack speed and physical power for high DPS, but it's passive is what makes this item amazing. Statistically for every 3 shots landed you should land 1 of those shots giving you additional DPS proportionate to the enemies health. So if your enemy has a 2000 health pool and this ability procs you will deliver an additional 200 damage. And this is if it only procs once.

The fourth item I recommend getting is The Executioner.

The Executioner

- is another great item that boost a number of important stats. You get attack speed and physical power for high DPS but it also gives you up to 60 physical penetration. This item will result in higher damage numbers popping up and more kills faster then ever.

The fifth item I recommend getting is Devourer's Gloves.

Devourer's Gloves

- this item provides you with more physical power which adds to your DPS but more importantly provides you with even more survive-ability because of the life-steal. This item is great to have and the stacks are permanent.

The sixth and final item I recommend getting is Deathbringer

Deathbringer

- is expensive but it will allow you to dominate the Smite Arena. It provides more physical power and with the major critical chance buff and additional damage on critical hits this item will have you seeing red. DPS numbers near the thousands and i'm talking about your basic attacks!

When possible or at any time between items 3-6 try picking up Griddle of Might for even more burst damage. This item now effects your allies so it can be used in team fights as well.

Potion and Elixer when you can afford them this is very late game and if you have tons of gold stock piled I would even recommend buying the 2nd or 3rd Tier of the boots.

Creeping / Jungling

Jungling is key for leveling up and getting an edge over your opponents. With Hand of the Gods, I recommend at level 1 to get Health Regen Buff. If not taken I would recommend grabbing the Mana Regen Buff shortly after.

Early Game Priority
TOP - Health Regen Buff
- Mana Regen Buff
- DPS Buff

Mid Game Priority
TOP - Health Regen Buff
- DPS Buff
- Tank Buff

Late Game Priority
TOP - Tank Buff
- DPS Buff
- Health Regen Buff

NOTE:
-I recommend using Hand of the Gods exclusively for killing Buff Camps until you get Suppress The Insolent rank 4.
-Hand of the Gods can also be used to kill archer creeps when pushing an enemy when picking up a kill or setting up a combo using your ult with an allies ult
-Save Hand of the Gods if possible when facing Bakasura or Bastet as Hand of the Gods can and will help you kill their Ultimate.

-At level 10 Place a Transgressor's Fate to overlook Gold Fury and/or Fire Giant.
-At level 20 Gold Fury and Fire Giant should be killed every chance possible especially when team is down by 1 or 2 players.

Team Work

GOD - COMBO - STRAT

Agni - Decent -
You'll be setting Agni for the kills more often then Agni doing the same for you. With your Ultimate, you can stun an enemy in place allowing Agni to drop bombs. At the same time you can help by using your speed increase ability or running up placing a snare in front of your enemy. This allows Agni more time to drop bombs and you to add more damage.

Anhur - Good -
Anhur and Artemis works well side by side with Anhur's Pillar slowing enemies down allowing you to land more shots or you can slow an emeny down with your rain of arrows allowing Anhur to spear your oppent in any direction. Artemis' Ultimate along with Anhur's calls for total destruction.
Note: it's not beneficial that both Gods are physical damage dealers.

Anubis - Best -
Anubis is the best combo, in my opinion, for Artemis. At level two Anubis can slow and mummify while you place a snare in front of your opponent and/or rains some arrows for a quick and early kill. Later at level 5 you can open up with your boar, have Anubis drop his slow followed by a quick mummify as you lay waste with your speed attack and/or rain of arrows. If all fails Anubis can pick up the kill with his ultimate.

Ao Kuang - Decent -
Using your ultimate will allow Ao Kuang to nail his every time and his storms will allow you get close and personal without the fear of having a melee push you.

Arachne - Decent -
Arachne will benefit a lot more from you than you will from Arachne. She can provide a grab once you boar your enemy which will allow you get get a few free shots. Arachne and Art can provide slows for each other allowing for easy catch up or easy run aways.
Note: it's not beneficial that both Gods are physical damage dealers.

Ares - Good -
Ares can slow enemies for you or pull them back to you or off of you with his Ultimate. If you boar shortly after he pulls them towards you, you can almost guarantee a kill. If he has an enemy shackled you can rain some arrows on the enemy to help Ares catch up or run away. Since Ares is a melee tank he can soak up some damage as you stand behind laying down some DPS.

Bakasura - Decent -
Your slow and Ultimate will allow Baka to get up close and personal. You'll be setting up Baka more often than not but an assist is better than nothing.
Note: it's not beneficial that both Gods are physical damage dealers.

Bastet - Decent -
Each of you have a slow that can be used defensively as well as offensively but Bastet's Ultimate can stand for itself. If Bastet call's her panthers while you have an enemy snared or board it almost always going to result in a kill.
Note: it's not beneficial that both Gods are physical damage dealers.

Cupid - Good -
Cupid and Art work well together. Cupid can provide a movment speed boost to help catch up or run away from an enemy. Cupid has the potential for stuns like you have the potential for snare and the use of your boar. Used one after another this combo and devastate the Arena.
Note: it's not beneficial that both Gods are physical damage dealers.

Guan Yu - Decent -
Guan Yu's ultimate can really help start the attack in the right direction. If he lands all three and pulls off a stun. Art can boar keeping the enemy there longer allowing both to DPS. If need be Guan can throw a heal for both of you resulting in keeping you in the battle or the tower longer than expected.

Hades - Good -
Hades can tank while you sit back and relax. He has the ability to get out quickly as well as fear. His ultimate provides you with ample time to take down a player. If you weren't able to, release your boar and finish the job. Hades can heal as well so stick close to him.

Hebo - Good -
Hebo and Art really work well together. Hebo can crowd control like no other. His sprout and river slows and harasses enemy gods allowing you to get close. If you snare or boar them Hebo can help finish the job with his high DPS abilities and if all fails Hebo can use his Ultimate to finish the job. His river and your rain of arrows allows for quick catch up or fast evades. The best time for attack is when Hebo sends them into the air.

Hel - Decent -
Hel has high DPS and can heal. You can boar so she can get close to help you take down an opponent and if you guys are struggling she can heal pretty well.

Kali - Decent -
You'll benefit more from Kali than Kali does from you. Kali has speed boost abilities, as well as a heal, and an Ultimate that can't be slowed. If you snare or boar an enemy Kali will help get the kill but that's about it.
Note: it's not beneficial that both Gods are physical damage dealers.

Odin - Decent -
Odin complements Art's attack speed but the two really can't use their ultimate's together. Usually Odin blocks off Art outside the spears or Art boars and then Odin traps everyone together. It best to stick close to Odin and take advantage of his shouts when attacking an enemy or tower.
Note: it's not beneficial that both Gods are physical damage dealers.

Ra - Good -
Ra and Art work well together. Ra can set down his heal ability which boost ally stats while in it. If Art snare or boars Ra can use his ultimate on the enemy. They both have a slow and Ra can hit from a longs way away and attack through walls and jungle.

Sobek - Good -
Sobek main job when partnered with anyone is to launch the enemy back into the heart of battle. If you rain some arrows after both can DPS and get the enemy health pretty slow. Art can boar while Sobek goes for a swim. Sobek has great crowd control with his tail whip ability and he can tank damage while you stay close behind waiting the charge.

Sun Wukong - Good -
Sun Wukong and Art can combo together a few abilities. Of course the main on is Sun Wukong's ultimate with Art's rain of arrows or speed attack. Art can boar and Sun Wukong can leap with a smash and monkey throw to help get the kill. If need be Sun Wukong can jump forward and catch up to a runway or he can use it himself to run away. The two can harass the enemy team pretty well and not letting them get close to the creep.
Note: it's not beneficial that both Gods are physical damage dealers.

Thor - Decent -
Thor can lay down some DPS and if timed right with Art, these two can get kills in the early game. Thor's hammer throw can be devastating early game and with Art's raining arrows it can leave enemies near death. Just followed up with a few basic attacks from either god and they're dead. Thor's ultimate can set things off in the right direction as well. After landing Art can release her boar and the two can have a field day with the opponent.
Note: it's not beneficial that both Gods are physical damage dealers.

Vamana - Decent -
This little baby can take a beating. Vamana can be aggressive and Art can DPS from a far. If Art decides to boar, Vamana can boomerang followed up by a charge which leave the window open for some raining arrows. If Vamana uses his ultimate Art can push up and shoot some arrows quickly and run away if all fails. Vamana's ultimate regens health which takes the pressure off Art to help out.
Note: it's not beneficial that both Gods are physical damage dealers.

Ymir - Decent -
Ymir is a tank which means Art can stick close to him. If an enemy gets to close Ymir can freeze them allowing Art to get some easy shots. If Ymir is doing his ultimate Art can call her boar to help Ymir nail it. Ymir can also wall off incoming attacks and Art can reek havoc on enemies trying to navigate around it.

Zeus - Good -
Zeus gets the better part of this deal. With Art being able to snare, slow, and stun Zeus can get off some bolts and even his ultimate dealing crazy damage to enemies. This combo works even better late game in team battles. Zeus can also tank which leaves Art free to DPS.

Aside from some glaring typos and grammar issues, a very well-written and informative guide. I will be giving it a shot next time I play Artemis. I'll be sure to let you know how I fare :D Also being a new MOBA player I appreciate the tips you give depending on which god she teams up with. Curious to know why you put the "note: it's not beneficial that both Gods are physical damage dealers" on those she pairs up with that are the same type she is?
