And before I start, I am DIMOND on Thanatos, at least try the build

Build

All items here I have tested and been successful with
[*] Only get Greater Providence if your out in the jungle for EXTENDED periods of time
[*] Try to start off Devourer's Gauntlet as early as possible
[*] Hasten Fatalis is only if you have a hard time with basic attack
[*] Jotunn's Wrath is a 2nd to 3rd item for me, get it early
[*] Warrior's Tabi are also a 2nd to 3rd item(choose wisely)
[*] Heart Seeker is only for the uncontrollable
[*] All items after greater providence are for if you are looking for counters to health/tank gods
[*] Brawlers Beatstick is really good for slowing down Hercules health regen.

Teamwork and reasons to try the build

Hey guys, CoolestAtm(also IGN) here. I am going to give you a build that doesn't require crits, HOG or any other item that, on Thanatos, it a bit silly. Crits can be counter by gods passives and items like celestial legions helm for mages, and with Geb's passive, crits can make you a bit useless; even by just buying quins asi. If you do the true damage instead of critical, then you become a more deadly Thanatos just by not relying on crit chance/damage. Plus buying wards for your team if you have the money also makes it to where they (your team) can't get ganked if you place the ward in a spot dependent to where they have been the most. Such as to the right and left of middle lane's enemy towers to prevent mid laner from a fatal gank during tower push. This can also be done for solo lane if they are also on a tower push as well as duo. And if a teammate is leaving lane with low health, for the love of ZEUS, GUARD THAT LANE.

Common Sense for the Common Sense Impaired

[*] Move around, don't just help one singular lane
[*] Slow down enough to land your abilities
[*] PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR HEALTH
[*] Gank from behind, not the front or side(if possible)
[*] Check your health before you tower dive
[*] Make sure to keep track of minions on your team and the enemy minions as well

Teamwork Ganking

If you decide to help solo lane and your on your way, call it out with "vsg" and number of lane that your ganking. Also, be sure to go completely behind the enemy. You would not believe how many people go after a kill when the target can see them. What I am trying to say is try to at least be sneaky, and remember that they can see you when you get close to minions; so combo your 3 and your 1. Or just hit them with your 1 early game. And be sure that you don't try to hit them with your 1 when they are using minion meat shields. I have seen it done, he is not Apollo .

Pros / Cons

Pros

Amazing sustain (if you land your 1)
3 is a silence and slow
ultimate is an instant kill if marked with passive

Cons
    Hard to play as
1 requires anticipating your target's movement
    combo's require patients.

Skills

Thanatos
needs his abilities focused on his

    4
    1
    3
    2
In that order
The 3 and the 2 are interchangeable and both are very crucial to how you play
The 3 is a slow that WILL slow you for a second but do high-ish damage and silence
His 2 is a chase (I use it on jungle fails, such as Ao Kuang early game)
The 2 also gives you huge movement speed boost chasing your passive
The 2 is also an amazing thing to upgrade at the end of the penetration and movement speed

Closing

If you read all the way through, nice job, your now on your way to becoming Thanatos.
Drop a Flavorite on the guide/build
And have fun

Also, I am a diamond Thanatos as well, you do not need pen with Thanatos...how many times I have said that on new Thanatos guides? A LOT. His 2 gives enough pen...also Dev Gloves? On Thanatos? That's not even viable, more like Arena, not Conquest. Bloodforge is enough. My Than build is Death's Toll early game with HoG 2 and 2 hp and 2 mana pots. After I get enough gold, I buy Ninja Tabi and probably Bloodforge if I have enough gold, or I'll just buy the gloves below it (Forgot the name). By mid game, I have Ninja Tabi, Bloodforge, *since Qin's is dead now* Asi possibly. Then Deathbringer and Malice and then any item you want. That's my Than build in a nutshell...

lol this is not a lot of reading. Show teamfight section, jungling routes, since thana basically always invades, situational items, and alternate builds since yours isnt the only viable one. The build itself looks fine, but you dont need lifesteal on thana; his passive gives him godly sustain. Also, EoP is basically useless active slot as wards and sentries are super cheap. Hastened fatalis is also pretty bad on many characters in the game, except maybe freya, baka, and a few other exceptions. Instead of lifesteal, since thana focuses on abilities rather than basic attacks, a better build might be warrior tabi, jotunns wrath, hydras lament (they buffed it), magis blessing (to steal objectives without being interrupted), and two situationals (prolly titans bane as one and maybe defense for the other). He gets pen from his 2 so no need to overcap flat pen. Also use bccoding in your guide https://www.smitefire.com/smite/guide/code-blue-bbcoding-for-beginners-4537
Work on the guide a little, we have kind mods who are willing to help newcomers get used to the website.

What the **** are you smoking kid? Thanatos NEEDS lifesteal mid to late to help him survive!

Eye is bad right now. Your better off buying sentry wards. Needs a bit more work on the guide writing but its understandable. The build needs more work too

Check out other guides here for some examples.

I really enjoyed reading through this guide. Although I can't say I approve of getting Greater Providence Also for your purchase order. It seems to be a bit wacky. Perhaps add some different purchase order tabs to elaborate on what each thing means and where it should be purchased.

Quoted:
It's a good guide/build, but maybe some pictures (for the skills and items[?]) may help those who learn better by seeing pictures, much rather than words. I would also note to check on some grammar/spelling errors, but it seems to me that English isn't your native language (no offense intended). Also, maybe add some optional items for specific encounters. All in all, this is my opinion, and I hope to see this guide to turn out pretty well! It seems fresh, so I may as well hope to see a large amount of improvement ^_^. I can't say much about items though that I haven't spent too much time playing Thanatos >->...

I am actually a high school student in the US, and not an foreign exchange student. I just had nothing better to do in class and made this when I was done with my assignments. I will fix the errors, and see if I can find clear bbc coding guides to enhance it. Thanks for the comment
