Tips

Tips

General
AMC is insanely strong if played well and completely useless if played wrong. Other than most hunters, AMC has no escape other than the movementspeed buff if he's close to a hive. He has no CC immunity or leap. This means that positioning is all the more important. Get beads early and set up hives so they provide you with the movementspeed buff if in the direction you're most likely to escape to. Play him carefully, set yourself up behind teammates / at the edge of battles. In general AMC is a high risk high reward kind of God. Once you get your positioning down you'll be dealing insane ammounts of damage. It's worth warding more than you would with other ADCs, as you really can't afford to be caught out of position.

Hive
A skill that's not very easy to master. Keep in mind that it not only gives you movement- and attackspeed bonuses but also heals you. Set them up at the edge of the lane, preferably behind you so that the enemy has to step way out of position if they wish to destroy them. Have some placed behind you towards your tower if you need to escape. Also remember to place one near the fountain: you wont lose mana if you place it while you're still within the fountain and it'll get you back to lane faster.

Swarm
Not too much to say about this skill, pretty obvious. Keep in mind that the Bees! will also attack nearby enemies, so if you can get someone who's running towards his team you can easily get a DOT onto all of them. You'll also reveal anyone who's in stealth, so if you hear a Serqet or a Loki near by, it might be a good idea to send a Swarm their way and hope to break their stealth that way.
Honey
A wonderful ability and a great source of damage. If you're within range of one of your Hives you'll apply Bees! automatically, if not you can throw your Swarm after them to do the same. It's worth noting that you don't have to stand within the range of your Hives for the whoel duration of the skill; When you use the skill you'll see if you're within range and once you've started throwing out Bees! infected Honey, you can step out of the range of the hives and it'll still apply the effect. It's also a good way to zone, as many people are hesitant when it comes to applying a DOT and slow to themselves.

Stinger
A great ult. The cooldown (if the Stinger is picked up) is miniscule and the damage is great. It does take a second to fire though, so you have to predict your enemies' movement. Unless you expect to get a kill or know that you wont need your ult for some time, I also wouldn't recommend using it when an enemy is under their tower. Due to your lack of CC immunity you probably wont be able to retrieve it, extending your cooldown by quite a lot. This is acually not a bad skill to initiate a 1v1 with. If you can land it successfully you'll deal a lot of damage to them aswel as crippling them, allowing you to follow up with your other skills. Due to the short cooldown, you're likely to have it available again if the fight is drawn out. It's worth noting that the CD reduction isn't a flat reduction but is affected by your overall CDR (although I wouldn't recommend building CDR on AMC).

Useful items

Useful items

Purification Beads: While this is an item that you see on most Gods, it's invaluable on AMC. AMC has no escape and is relatively squishy (as all hunters are). Beads allow you to get out of risky situations that would otherwise get you killed.

First Build

Hey Guys,

This is my first build, I main AMC (rank 10) and this is my favourite build choices to secure wins. I recommend my preferred build to start with :) (build 4)

Thanks

Who's guilty of upvoting this? Personally, I recommend it gets archived due to listing items that are no longer available.

Hi Kydroe,

If you're planning on updating these builds, I do want to point out the base "damage build" has some major issues.

You might be looking for max single-hit damage, due to high power, Qin's, and high crit chance, along with Titan's Bane, but your only pen is TB, and it's built last.

In addition, you're getting Qin's 3rd, and you have no other AS items before it, so you're not getting much out of Qin's passive.

Then you're moving from there straight into crit. Qin's + crit as a base build is not very optimal. If you're going into crit, and you like Rage, you probably want to start that 3rd, or at most 4th, after getting The Executioner online. And you REALLY should be getting Exe.

On the Solo build, you're doing the same thing...but at least you're giving Qin's a solid base to work off of, by getting Ninja and Asi before it. But then you do the same crit thing. Often, you'll just want to get as much out of Qin's as possible...and with your nice AS boost from Hive, you might want to invest in Silverbranch Bow at some point.

No offense, but the "lifesteal" build is horrid. Never ever do this...AND you have Hastened Fatalis listed...you obviously haven't updated this build in a long time.

The "preferred build" is also equally horrid. No decent pen here...why is The Executioner being consistently overlooked?

The "S4 Meta" build is also outdated (obviously). If anything you should probably just delete this whole one (and delete the lifesteal and preferred builds while you're at it).

Hey I love your build 4 I just started using amc. The one thing I dont like though is his mana problem. What item do u recommend to buff the mana pool without losing to much speed or crit

Kriega1 (143) | July 29, 2018 2:03pm
Use this build: Transcendence, Warrior Tabi, The Crusher, The Executioner, Qin’s Sais, Titan’s Bane.

What avout deathbringer instead of titan? I really like having it on hunters especially when I got a lot of attack speed with crushed and executioner. just wondering if it would work

Assume you're not actually using Bluestone Pendant, since it's been removed from the game since the start of season 5. Hunter's Blessing would be the standard starter.

You can consider a pickup of Chalice of Mana to help your mana issues.

I don't think boots are needed since our hives give us about 100 movement speed when fully upgraded.
1
Branmuffin17 (394) | May 27, 2018 10:30pm
Boots serve a few different purposes.
  • For the price, it's one of the most efficient items for a damage boost, if you go with Warrior Tabi (which is probably the best bet for him). Ninja Tabi is okay too, though, because the AS boost is very strong (again for the price). The slight mana boost you get is also a bit helpful, since he's pretty mana hungry early.

  • At max rank, Hive gives 25% MS within its radius. Thing is, what do you do when your hive is down??? You get a max 6 hives, and no offense, but they're extremely vulnerable to destruction by a SINGLE basic attack, and your hives don't cover nearly the whole map unless you're playing an extremely small map like Arena or Joust. 0 MS when you're not in the area of effect = easy hunting. You'll just hope at that point that the enemy doesn't have any hard CC or disarms and you can outbox them.

  • Hive is NOT the first skill you max. Kydroe's skill leveling is pretty accurate. You'll get max rank of Hive between level 12 and 14, because you need the clear from Swarm if you're playing Conquest or you're the main wave-clear on your team in a teamfight mode. Basically, your MS boost is just not reliable enough to NOT get boots of some sort.

Im surprised to see the build is supposed to be updated but still have Soul Eater, I know its a lot of possible Lifesteal, but you gain nothing much from this item beside that. Since it dont have Attack Speed anymore I find it lacklusting. So could you provide more info about that ?

I think i can add a few tips instead of making an own guide. Perhaps you can use them. 1. Alternative Items: Sometime i change soul eater for Brawlers against teams with more than just a little bit heal. I would have done this in the (foto) game, if nox didnt buy divine ruin (brawlers and divine does not stack together). Sometimes i change it for Titans against high-def teams. I had a weird Odin, Ymir, Scylla team a few days ago. 2. I dont buy bluestones, instead i got ichivail lvl 2 and shoes lvl 1, if there is a mage with a good clear. And i mostely use basics then and buy some mana potions. 3. I normally buy Asi as fourth item, before Qins. Its cheaper and gives me a lot of sustain. I only change that, if im ahead so far that i want to shred the tank in the midgame. Sometimes they are stupid enough not to attack me (the carry) and then its Qins-Time early ;) 4. I'm going the second im in the game to the lane without items and put a hive at the tower. Then i teleport back, buy stuff and put second hive at phoenix. Then back and im in lane on time with full mana and two well placed and usefull hives. 5. Im not really sure about that one: Im levelling Honey at first, than hives, than swarm. That gives me much better laneclear early and again, the most dmg comes from basics. But i didnt do the math so thats just a personal thing. Edit: I was curious, so i checked. I got in to jungle practice, bought Warrior Tabi, Ichivail and Rage lvl 2. Than i got to lvl 6, put on a hive and attacked the NPC-Odin: 1. Try with Honey lvl 3 and swarm and hive lvl 1, second try with Swarm lvl 1 and honey lvl 3. Here it is: If the enemy is in the honey the whole time its ticking, its way stronger! Odin got 42 dmg for 8 ticks, thats 336 dmg at all. From Swarm lvl 3 he only got 200 dmg! In both cases he gets 48dmg from infection on top. For my Playstyle, honey is better. It costs 10 Mana more.

Im looking forward on ur Oppinion to that suggestions, Kydroe.

I think that every build should have some leeway due to matchups and situations. Everything here must me taken with a pinch of salt and if the situation demands for a change then you must build around it. I think that some of your ideas have potential but in the long run I stick to my build. Thank you for your time :)

Dude, your #4 build just brought me into joust ranked gold league. Here is a Foto of Match-Stats. This is totally shredding. And the best is - it is shredding early, mid and lategame. All the Trans-Builds are weak early. I love it! Thx!

Just tested your #4 build in joust. WOW, just wow. They were being so agressive yet this build pulled it off. My first time using AMC!! http://smite.guru/match/hr/267041320

What do you think about Teleport instead of Sanctuary ?
1
Kydroe (2) | July 13, 2016 2:16am
Teleport was in my solo lane build and that is the only place I would include it. It will reduce your survivability if you used it in duo lane or in joust. (sry if you did not mean blink for the last reply I gave) mb
1
Kydroe (2) | June 24, 2016 9:33am
If you were talking abuot blink I would advise against it. Sanctuary or Beads gives you the reliable ability to avoid burst mages or ultimate's which as AMC you do not have a great way of avoiding apart from his increased move speed. Blink (teleport) only allows you to use it after 5 seconds out of combat, that is no being hit or hitting. As a hunter this will be your priority whether it is in the form of poke or an all in. Blink would be useful for a small amount of positioning and maybe an escape if you are lucky but the power or sanctuary far out-ways that of Blink in my view for AMC (Ah Muzen Cab). If you are asking this because you are finding AMC very hard not to be killed I would say you need to work on your positioning. Try to work out the ideal distance in which your move speed allows you to poke the enemy's but not being too close to be hit yourself. When you have mastered not being too close you can then work on using the honey (1) to slow them to advance and, still using his move speed to dodge, start advancing on them with your Swarm (2). I hope that helped you :) If you have anything else you want to ask feel free.

OMG, on my first try with AMC I decided to use your persona build and I went 18 and 1 in joust! Thank You

Thanks :) I put a lot of work refining that build and i find it works best in joust yes.

Thanks for the comment :)
