S4 Kali Joust - Let us Hunt

Hello and thank you for taking a look at my Kali Build. I've recently gotten Kali to 2k worshipers and earned that first star playing exclusively joust, here is my Guide.

Nimble Strike: First thing about Kali, her nimble strike and placing/timing correctly is probably THE most important factor when it comes to securing kills/not dying. I see a lot of people use it to enter combat, you should try to avoid this at all costs unless your target has already used their escape/is about to die. An important detail I also see commonly overlooked is that landing on someone gives you 20% of their missing health! This makes it ideal for chasing down and killing enemies even when you have a fraction of health left...It also has several 'invulnerable frames' can also be used to avoid damage outright. A properly timed flip can negate odin's bird bomb damage entirely, then heal you when you land on him in response :).

Incense: This is Kali's AOE stun which also increases her attack power....should be your go to opener followed up with lash.

Lash: This is your big time damage, ranged minion clear/poke, oh and it gives you lifesteal on effected targets. At point blank it fires out in a shotgun like cone, at long range the swords spin outward and converge on a single point. Goes through walls, causes a bleed....whats not to like

Destruction: Kali creates an aura of spinning blades that do damage to anyone near you, while it is active you can only be reduced to 1 hp and then heal to 10% when it ends. Knowing when to pop this is the second biggest factor to securing kills/staying alive. It has a couple of use cases

-Alpha Strike aka go all in: incense + lash + ultimate.....at full build can kill a squishy before they can even react. your wasting the invincibility in order to dish out unholy damage

-Escape Death: Neith Janus or Nu Wa about to ult you with 100 hp left? pop ult for a poor mans aegis amulet

-Queen of Sustain: Fighting a Ymir or a Chaac who wants to go 10 rounds? stun + lash, dish out damage, leap onto them to heal more....when your about to fall, drop ult and go to town

Passive: This is what separates the men from the boys and the deicides from the wipes. Pick a target, kill them get 80% health back. Target dies, next closest god is now your target. I generally will choose the squishiest least able to run away gods. prime examples of food for Kali are Zues, and Ah Puch. The quinessential way to ruin an enemy team is sneak up on gank, kill your squishy target without using ult(fully built vs enemy without aegis will take less than 3 seconds)....it is now 2v3 your fully healed and you can still turn invincible. If you manage to get your second target with ult, you now have one scared manaless outnumbered god between you and a triple.

Ninja tabi over warrior because you want the attack speed
Fatalis because being slow is bad, you get pen, and attack speed
Blood forge because you get even more lifesteal, and when you kill your target you will gain 90+% health plus a shield plus movement speed buffs
Wind Demon because you want to move fast and attack even faster
Poison Star because little piggies have a tendency of trying to run away
death bringer because you will have 55% crit and spit out 500 - 800 damage crits so fast the person will be death before malice has time to tick.

I will use blackthorn hammer instead of blood forge for really slippery gods such as Thoth or apollo....This will allow you to potentially get a second round of leap/stun in which is usually the difference between killing or dying if they slip your melee range with aegis or whatever

Mana Chalice makes mana woes a distant memory

Blink rune is an amazing way to enter combat because it forces the other person to use their escape to get out of your melee range, which then is the perfect setup to leap onto them for the kill

Curse plus blink plus poison star = good luck running anywhere except back from respawn

flickering ritual must have late game item. shenanigans abound....use it to double blink.....use it to escape botched ganks....the BS is limitless

Your Dream teammate is a guardian with a stun. Ares is amazing, so is Xian Tian and Ymir. hide behind them and Chain your CCs together for maximum cheese convince them to buy shoguns kusari if you don't want to make any friends ever.
