Introdcution

Hi Fellow Smite Players and Rat enthusiasts! this is my very first build so I am extremely open to criticism and I welcome it. Through this guide i will walk you through the wonderful world of ACORNS! i decided to finally make a build as i have not really seen many builds that in my opinion fully utilize Rat and the damage he can deal so here is my stab at it. hope you enjoy!

P.s. i also couldn't find the Acorn of Yggdrasil on the build so the magic acorn will symbolize the finished acorn in the core and usual build section. Also Can any of you veteran Smitefire builders tell me how to get all the fancy pictures of items and headings and what not? as i have no idea thanks and stay Nutty!

Items

Acorn of Yggdrasil (Yummy):
This item has been vastly improved upon since he was first released with the four separate acorns. I can stress this enough... ITS INSANE FOR A STARTER ITEM! it does 50 physical power and 20% Movement speed! that's better than Warrior tabi and on top of that it heals him when he damages with his abilities on any target meaning camps and minions. The heal has been nerfed as it ended up being a massive heal with a full ability combo instead of a light sustain, i'm talking from 200HP up to just over 1000HP with his 1,2 and 3 combo. so now instead it does 15 plus 30% of your physical power as healing which is still pretty useful but not the insane heals it gave before. This is also Rats passive and it replaces his boots.

Transcendence:
I use this in both joust and conquest as a lot of rats power comes from his abilities and plus acorn gives you healing and the extra damage will increase your healing. not only that but the extra mana you get from killing minions, camps and gods keeps you in a fight longer as it lets you use more of your abilities before you have to back 'nough said.

Jotunn's Wrath:
A Small 10 Penetration item that gives you ad extra 40 physical power, 150 mana and 20% cooldown reduction which Rat sorely needs as the cooldowns will literally get you killed if you push just a little bit too hard.

Heartseeker:
This is the item people generally try to stay away from I've noticed and i don't know why. i think its mainly because he doesn't need attack speed as for some reason at 1.32 attack speed it seems like he attcks at about a 1.7 which is weird but cool. this item brings his attack speed to the spotlight as each basic attack increases you attack speed by 3% for 5 stacks (15% total the same as Qin's sais) and at max stacks you next ability deals an additional 40 physical power which is always nice when used with his ult or his 1. plus the 10% movement speed is always nice.

Hydras lament:
Hydras lament is essentially the Polynomicon of the physical world as it gives you 30% damage for 8s to your next basic attack after you use and ability except hydra has NO cooldown which is awesome and it can change up his combo a little as well.

Masamune:
Masamune is a new item that is perfect against any Warrior or Guardian and is OK against the other 3 classes as it gives you 50 power and 10% movement speed which is similar to Acorn. The difference is Masamune deals 1 extra power per every 10HP extra a god has on top of you with a 50 power limit e.g. with my build Acorn Boy has 1920HP so a god with 2420HP or Higher would end up having an extra 50 physical power being dealt to them with every attack whether it be a basic attack or ability. this is a NUTS *teehee* item but i only use it as a situational and only if the enemy team has either a high enemy that is hurting us or has more than two high health enemies.

Bloodforge:
I LOVE this item and have it on nearly all my assassins as it gives you 75 physical power 15% lifesteal AND a shield made from the blood of the enemy you just killed equal to 200HP plus 10HP per player level (400HP max) it last for 20s AND gives you 10% Movement speed for its duration. how can you say no?

Titans Bane:
Aaahhh the good old Titans Bane a go to item among all physical gods. who doesn't love a bit of penetration? *teehee* it deals 30 physical power and all of your physical attacks gain 33% physical penetration. it does exactly what it says on the tin.

Brawlers Beat Stick:
Now i dont personally use this with my Rat unless I'm against a Hel, Guan Yu or any other god who can heal other than Sol because that heal is garbage in my opinion. it gives 40 physical power, 20 penetration and reduces enemy healing and regen by 40% for 8 seconds. simples.

Hide of the Urchin:
The Jack of all Defensive Trades and Master of None. it gives 35 physical and 35 magical Defense and 250 mana and health. every god kill and kill assist gives you 3 magical and 3 physical defense with a max of 10 stacks leaving you with 65 of both magical and physical defense. i rarely use this item unless me and my team are being spanked. Hard. while Mantle of Discord is just as good it misses out of the health and mana and sometimes that 5 extra defense is the difference between life and a Nut filled Afterlife... with that said The Sly Messenger may actually prefer that.

Mantle of Discord:
This new upstart has been making waves ever since it was released upon the Smite verse. it gives 60 defense to both physical and magical as well as giving a cheeky 15% cooldown reduction which is always good and is perfect if you've got a troublesome team of tearaway mages and assassins... those little whippersnappers! but seriously its a good item if you feel like you still need increased cooldowns and it has a nice passive that sends a 1s stun shock wave and grants you cc immunity if you drop below 30% health. but this can only be triggered once every 90s. oh did i mention its 3100 coins! only use it if you REALLY need the cooldown.

Tier 3 Acorn Heal: 15(+30% of your physical power

Cost: 60
Cooldown: 15s

Through The Cosmos: Ratatoskr charges up then leaps from the ground to a branch above his head. He may jump to 2 more branches before choosing a landing location. Upon landing he deals damage and Knocks up enemies. Through the Cosmos can be canceled or timed out from any of the branches, causing Ratatoskr to strike down at the current target location.

Damage: 200/260/320/380/440 (+70% of your Physical Power)
Cost: 100
Cooldown: 90s

Combo Time!

OK so with Rat his combo is pretty simple. blink in the 2,3 auto (then either 1 toward enemy or away)

combo with ult: 4,2,3 and then 1 (toward or away again)

combo with hydra's lament: 2,auto,3,auto then either 1 into enemy followed by auto or 1 away.

combo with hydra's lament and ult: 4,3,2,auto and then either 1 into enemy followed by auto or 1 away.

That is all i do and typically they are dead... if not just auto until one of you abilities are up. So if you have Hydra's lament just try to follow each ability up with an auto attack and you get that extra damage.
