Imagine yourself as a humble Kukulkan, farming a lane for precious xp. Then you hear the sound of birds, and before you know it, a burly Odin has just landed on top of you, evaporating 70% of your health. You have been Bird Bombed. Many squishy gods have felt this before and dread it. Odin is a great tanky warrior who excels at burst damage in the form of the Bird Bomb. He has drawbacks, but overall is a worthwhile god to master. I have him god mastery 10 and have been using him since the beginning so I'm pretty experienced with him.(I play Smite on Xbox so forgive any a b x y/1 2 3 4 errors)
Pros:
+High early game burst damage
+Pretty good mid and late(not as much late game)damage
+Great controlling ult and passive
+awesome skins(samurai Odin is my favorite)
Cons:
- Late game damage falloff
- easily escapable ult
- after Bird Bomb he is somewhat useless
Kind of a silly question "How to use Odin" right? Just Bird Bomb all over the place and you'll be fine. Although that is somewhat true, it takes timing and skill to land the bombs. The takeoff time for Lunge is slow and the landing is also slow. After the bomb usually use Gungnir's Might to slow the enemy and prevent them from escaping. If they survive that, and you have teammates near, use Ring of Spears and kill them in there(don't be mad if a teammate gets the kill in the ring, you still get a +5 power bonus). Use lunge as an escape as well.
Odin's skills are straight forward, Use Raven Shout before lunge and jump in, gungnir's might spins around slowing the enemy, and ring of spears traps them. Upgrade Raven shout first, then lunge, then Gungnir's might, then Ring of Spears.
Breastplate of Valor: Buy this first. it gives lots of physical protection, mana, and cooldown reduction which is needed for constant Bird Bombs
Transcendence:This gives additional mana which Odin is deprived of early game, and gives him physical power and MP5(Work on stacks with this as well)
Hide of the Urchin: This is basic, health, mana, and protections. What could go wrong?
Winged Blade: Good health, added cooldown reduction, movement speed, attack speed, this has it all. Also it slows enemies down.
Titan's Bane: More power for more bombs, and more penetration
Frostbound Hammer: This item can be replaced by anything I guess, but I prefer it because it gives extra health and power late game.
Overall Odin is a great warrior that can tank some hits and Bird Bomb very hard. A common conception about Odin is that he falls off late game into a Ring of Spears machine. Although he can't obliterate enemies as easily late game, he still does a ton of damage. Try being very aggressive with Odin, trapping people in your cage and letting teammates get the kill. I prefer having an assassin with me at all times to kill an enemy quick in my cage and get the passive power. Bird Bomb Odin is one of the most underrated gods out there, but when you get Bird Bombed, you'll regret not using him.
