Introduction.

Hello, everyone! My IGN is Okami and I mained Fenrir ever since Season 1. Fenrir is a very adaptable god, he can also be built in so many ways. Due note, builds are mostly situational and even the best guide can't compensate for that. Don't get stuck in the mindset of only using the same build over and over. You have to build to counter the enemy team. Learn to use the right build for the right situation. This isn't really taught, it's LEARNED. Fenrir takes tons of Brutalize combat awareness and Brutalize dedication to be considered broken. Though don't let that stop you, let me show you how to use this monster of a god.

*This isn't a jungle guide, if you need help with jungling. I recommend you watch Adapting on Twitch. I will add other roles, in the future. Keep in mind my builds will be in the order that I typically build them. Due note though, at any given time. You might need to change the build order, to fit the match.*

Pros / Cons

Pros

+ Unchained - Great stun, good damage, can jump through walls.

+ Very adaptable

+ Brutalize - You get to piss people off.

+ You do Fentastic damage.

+ Fenrir is easy to pick up and play.

+ You get tons of escapes. Unchained, Brutalize, Ragnarok

Cons

- Very weak to Stuns. Frost Breath, Fear No Evil, Waxing Moon

- Very weak to Cripples. Regurgitate, Shackles, Whirlpool

- Squishy without Defense Items.

- Maxed Unbound Runes is required to have full skill effects.

- Fenrir gets focused a lot late game.

- Very Predictable

Item Builds

Fenrir has good base damage, though his abilities don't scale to well. Even still, there are a few power items that might work, under the right circumstances of course.
Power
Physical defense is a barrier that can be overcome by buying penetration items. Fenrir's natural base damage shines when you buy more penetration. Buying items in this section is usually always the safest bet, when learning the game.
Penetration
If you want to last longer then 2 seconds on the battle field, without retreating or dying. Then I strongly recommend buying some defense items. Fenrir has to get close and personal to do damage, so naturally he is a huge target to the enemy team.
Defense / HP
When Fenrir builds critical chance and life steal items. Fenrir becomes a self sustaining, personal Pokemon Center. If you are aiming to out box ADC gods. Then you will be needing to buy several items in this section.

Gameplay Videos

I plan to do Twitch and Youtube, very soon. I've done both before, though I will be starting off on Fresh channels. Still need to get my gaming computer that's out of state. If you want to follow my channels before I get into doing them, feel free. The channels will be primarily focused on playing Fenrir. I will add a few funny videos here and there to, if that's your cup of tea.

I strongly recommend you watch this, if you got 30 minutes. It's a LONG video but it's very in depth.

Hey Zodiac. I noticed you changed your auto build. For my auto based builds, I started adding Stone Cutting Sword and wind demon recently. With a combination of a fully stacked Rage, I feel like you can get a pseudo fatalis effect from the Stone Cutting Sword's 10% movement speed and wind demon's passive. I like your new build!

Also, can you rate my Arena auto based build? Warrior Tabi-> Jotunn's Wrath-> Mantle of Discord-> Stone Cutting Sword (at this stage for the movement speed)-> Rage (at this stage for the stacks)-> The Executioner->replace Jotunn's Wrath with wind demon

I used to build lifesteal as well, but there's just way too much going on in Arena. I found defense to benefit me much more than extra lifesteal.

TheZodiacWolf (23) | June 27, 2017 9:58am
For arena I honestly just go for ability power, cd and pen. Warrior Tabi, Jotunn's Wrath, Hydra's Lament, Heartseeker, Brawler's Beat Stick, Titan's Bane

Arena ends to quickly to warrant buying to many expensive items.

You don't find a need for at least 1 protection item? I just see myself dying with a glass cannon build. Then again... Here's someone who beat pros with starter items... Lol.

Hey Zodiak,

So I saw that you updated your guide so I decided to check it out. First things first, wow it looks stunning. The pictures and the skills section are very pleasing to the eyes. I like the color scheme of it as well. The design alone warrants an upvote from me.

I am not the biggest Conquest player so I am not sure on the impact of it, but with the recent increase in price of Shifter's Shield, would it be better to flip Hide of the Urchin and Shifter's Shield around or put in a damage item instead like maybe Heartseeker? With Hide you would lose some early power, but be able to gain more protections earlier on with the stacks and cheaper price so it would be online earlier, but you mention that this would really hurt his early game so I would lean towards a damage item. Granted it is only 150 gold more, so could go lean on some potions to make up for the price increase. Just curious on thoughts.

Other than that, I have nothing else for you besides AA build is to risky with him. I feel it would take a seasoned Fenrir player to use so you can utilize his lifesteal properly, but what if you got 1 defensive item for the Auto attack build? It would give some defense along with your lifesteal to be able to box. I just wouldn't know what you would take out since want 2 crit items, Executioner is your penetration. Dev is your lifesteal so I guess Qin's?

TheZodiacWolf (23) | June 19, 2017 4:56pm
Thanks for the reply, it made my day. Yeah qins could be replaced, though 1 def item won't stop a carry. Still a def item could help against late game mages. I think I'll add bulwark to the list later. If i was snow balling, and if the enemy team had a lot of end game gods, I would maybe switch the 2. It would still hurt the early game a bit, though depending on the match, you have to switch it up and adapt.

I'm very glad to hear you like the pictures, it took me a little while to make them. Though I hoped it wound entice people more. Thank you for the feed back, ill look to it later, have a great rest of your day.

Getting comments is the best, isn't it?

@newb, I think the shifters 150 price increase isn't enough to... Shift it from being a good item in that space. In a conquest game, you're maybe talking 1 minute of playtime just in gold/min. If you get a camp or two, significantly less. The fact is it still gives a huge power increase, and significant balanced protections, and the increase just maybe brings it into better balance for the stats it brings... Maybe.

Hey guys, what happened to Zodiac? His youtube channel went down, and he just fell off the radar. Anyone know?

Would a good usual build for conquest be this because this is what I have and it's been working pretty good?
Bumba's Mask(Sell after 4 item ), Warrior Tabi, Jotunn's Wrath, Void Shield, Executioner, Rage, Blood Forge.
I'm kinda new to Fenrir Mastery II and just wanted to make sure i was on the right track.

Hi Animal,

Zodiac hasn't been on for a few months now, so hope you don't mind me commenting, even though I'm not a Fen expert.

I do know that most people focus on maxing CDR, power, and pen, with perhaps 1 or 2 protection items depending on the situation.

Your build starts normally, but ends with items that aren't quite optimal...two or 3 of those items are really basic-attack items, and his effectiveness comes from abilities.

So...this generally means you'd get rid of The Executioner and Rage, and possibly Bloodforge, though that item CAN have some effectiveness due to the shield and the high power.

Core after the Bumba's start is Warrior Tabi, Jotunn's Wrath, and Titan's Bane, but you might delay Titan's until a bit later. If you're facing more physical threats, Void Shield or Breastplate of Valor might be purchased after Jotunn's Wrath...Void will give you more damage, but BoV is nice for the mana pool and, more importantly, maxing CDR.

If you don't get Breastplate of Valor, it opens you up to get Mantle of Discord for the balanced protections and the 15% CDR, and the passive can help when you jump into a fight.

Unfortunately, not sure exactly where the builds are going to go once S4 goes live (end of January for PC, another week or two after for consoles).

Hi! I also play a diamond Fenrir but I play him with heavy damage (I have a guide if you want to see). I have seen you play this awesome god and bro you make it look like an art, I just hope that I can do the same. I do have one question, do you have anything to say on my guide, because I want to know if I did something wrong and I thought why not just ask one of the best Fenrir's that I know of if not thee best. (Not trying to shamlessly plug myself I just really want to see if I can improve something)

Good to hear, Fenrir is easy to pick up once you understand his kit and how to build him.

SidonianTiger | August 26, 2016 7:28am
Void Shield and Mail of Renewal aren't even worth it tbh. They're practically dead items in the game. I don't remember the last time I saw someone use them since the nerf on mail of renewal lol. Mantle of discord is better for Fen since it offers decent protections, cdr, and a helpful stun when you're in a pinch. That and hide of urchin should be enough for you to be tanky. Void shield can easily be replaced with any other damage item that suits best. It's honestly a very mediocre item that hardly does anything.
1
TheZodiacWolf (23) | August 30, 2016 12:09pm
Void Shield actually is a amazing item lol. Mail isn't really worth it I can agree with that. More of a fun item for me. Though I will defend Void Shield

Why do I feel like I'm not doing enough damage though.... I have so much trouble counter building... Help?
1
TheZodiacWolf (23) | August 30, 2016 12:07pm
In smite you have to identify what the enemy team has. If they have for example, Freya in mid and Rama in solo and Hou Yi in ADC. Then you know for a fact that you need to build for dps for the first 3 items to use Fenrir's early game. Down the road they will start deleting everyone, so you'd need to be aggressive and take objectives. Fenrir can be built many ways, honestly the best god for counter building. Just learn how to counter build first. Watching Incon/Weak3n on youtube might be the best bet. Hope any of this helped
