Most would say mercury is too squishy for early game, this is very true but it is a good idea to kill early on try to level up as early as you possibly can. The reason I never finished the skills is because it is best to level it based on the situation but i recommend made you look more than the others. Just purchase all the core items as soon as you can.
Buy this point you should have all of your core items (although hydra can wait after death bringer but you must have golden and warrior. Now that you have your crits try to kill but avoid team fights unless the enemy team is low on health.
