Odin: Twist and Raven Shout. DPS/Tank builds. (07/09/2016)

#Jumps.
#Has an okay shield.
#Ring is annoying as Hel and slows the enemy's attack speed.
#Just shout jumping in and running away can put a lot of pressure onto a squishy team.
#Amazing beard.
#Can support-tank really well. Having Gungnir's slow and the ring will really help in these kinds of situations.

#*MANA? WHAT IS MANA?
#Learning curve is more than you think it is, trust me. You'll always be improving. This goes for any god, really. You'll need to be able to predict where the enemy will be when you land, not where they are right now.
#Not very high damage with the removal of the old shout, but can still hit hard against hunters or assassins.
#Ring is countered so easily it's not even funny.
#People will want you to tank when you don't want to. But that can go for any warrior class. However, tanking isn't that big of a deal.
#If you are tanking, you need to be careful. Since the defense nerf, he obviously doesn't have as much defense as a guardian would.

Figuring out the items should be pretty easy. Build one is for when you want to mess up some people. Usually best on against a team who doesn't know what they're doing. Sometimes I'll build a little tanky in my DPS build so I can do just enough damage to hurt people and not die within two second of slamming people.

Your item builds will depend greatly on the other teams playstyle, god selection, and skill level. With that in mind, you will need to change things up yourself to get you through a tough match.

Starters:
Watcher's Gift: I personally like this one if I'm doing some tanking and can't get the kills on anything. Probably good if you're DPSing and are having a hard time poking kills.
Bluestone Pendant: Actually seems pretty nice early game, since jump and shield proc the x2 stack. Having the mana and power is great, too.

Blink: Blink and Ring of Spears is a lovely tactic.
Purification: Because who loves Ares? Or Anubis? Nobody, that's who.
Thorns: Against Gods that hit hard, they hit themselves hard. It's cool beans.

Hide of the Urchin:
Max stack of +65 protections and some sick health/mana. Pretty sweet.

Breastplate of Valor:
CDR, Mana, super physical defense.

Bulwark of Hope:
Going from that iffy shield to what this item is now, I'd say get it as soon as you can. If there's more mages, get this before breastplate if you think you'll need it. 20% CC reduction is pretty nice to have now, too. That shield of 450-ish should be enough in a tight situation to stall for Lunge/Raven Shout.

Jotunn's Wrath:
Pretty much a staple item for any warrior, really. Mana, CDR, little bit of pen, and then some power.

Titan's Bane:
Actually, this is pretty good for ignoring defense. At higher levels, it's pretty hard to beat the raw penetration this provides. Makes your derp-jump combo pretty freakin' wombo.

Shifter's Shield:
So, this got a buff. Not much, but enough for me to put it into my normal build. The 20/20 with the passive makes it worth building.

Brawler's Beat Stick:
Due to the changes in the stick, it's really not that bad, since you'll be hitting with your abilities quite a bit.

Heartward Amulet:
Check it, bro. See that MP5? And the protections? Your team will love you forever*(*Void when you mess up).

Bulwark of Hope:
Refer to item guide 1.

Genji's Guard:
Well, here's a new one. And it's not terrible if you're going against an all magic team, as they killed Stone of Gaia. CC reduction is cool, the passive effect I'm not sure how I feel about yet, I'll have to update after more testing.

Jotunn's Wrath and Titan's Bane, refer to guide 1.

Runic Shield:
Because screw you mage, that's why. Shoot me slower and you know what, not as hard, while you're at it. Plus a little power for that extra umph when you smash them with your shield.

Breastplate of Valor:

Hide of the Nemean Lion:
Man, 90 protection? Holy cow. Mana is always nice, and that passive has landed me the kill on low health people that just kept hitting me.

Runeforged Hammer:
Just gaze at this. Remember how your 3, Gungnir's Might slows people? Yeaahhhh.

Spectral Armor:
CC reduction, mana and crazy protection. The passive is great, I think. I was so tired of people just using me for a heal while I was trying to kill them. >:(

Bane and Wrath, I think you know why by now(guide 1).

Optional: Idk, not much to say here...

Typically I'll level Raven Shout first, then Lunge, Gungnir's Might, and finally Ring of Spears.

Lunge: Your get away and/or your initiator. Pop your shield and jump in, or teleport in, pop rings and get out if you're likely to die.
∆∆ Second to max.***

Raven Shout: Pop this before you jump, try not to get hit while you have it up so you can get that 25% bonus damage from its detonation.
It can also save you if you're low on health and trying to get away from some bad people that want to do the hurts to you. If possible, try to jump before you activate this shield, unless it's about to expire or is almost depleted anyway.
∆∆First thing to max***, bonus damage scaling, etc.

Gungnir's Might: Its damage is pretty much awful, but its slow is amazing. Don't underestimate(or overestimate) the range of the spear. It can be the difference between a kill or that god getting away with 100HP. It typically won't hurt to try and cast it if somebody is about to get out of your range. Just judge the situation really quick, but most times it's fine to cast whenever as long as you hit something.
Don't bother clearing waves with this. I mean, you can try it, but you'll find out real fast why it's not that great of an idea.
∆∆"Usually" max this out third, mostly just for that tiny bit more damage. Please refer to Ring of Spears for better understanding of why it's "usually" third.

Ring of Spears:You and your team can run through the spears. It can be jumped over or gone under. Gods like Hades, Neith, Ullr, etc will be able to get out of it if their CD is up.... So, just wait until at least one of them has popped their CD and ring them! (I've seen Neiths just run up and jump back as though it's a normal attack.)
Try not to activate if you don't think you'll live through it. Situations apply. Can you sacrifice yourself to save your team? Will not casting the ring just cost you your life and their's? Probably should use it then. Remember, you're not the only person on your team.
The stacking AP buff is always nice to have, an extra 50 AP after a long time. Or sort if you're lucky.
This spell has a lot of "or"'s in it and is very situational.
∆∆This one usually gets maxed out last, although if you have a lot of physical damage enemies, you can max this out before Gungnir's or as soon as possible if you're tanking. That decreased attack speed can be a life saved.

***You can alternate between putting points in Raven Shout and points in Lunge. Sometimes I'll level Lunge faster for the CDR. Most of the time it's Raven Shout for the damage. Lunge does have better AP scaling, but in the end it doesn't add up to an undamaged Raven Shout. However, do what you feel will work better for your particular situation.

If you don't have a good team, you'll probably have a bad time. Unless the other team is just awful. Then you'll be the MVP. I've gone 18/3/6 on a lose before, their team was bad, but not worse than mine. (The other two players were 5/8/12 and 5/11/9).

Teamwork and comps will be your primary enemy of Odin. If you have friends the compliment Odin well, you'll do great.

I usually do jousts with Odin. Sometimes I'll go into a 5v5 or 4v4 with him, but 3v3 is easiest for me to mess around until I've had enough alcohol to make the other matches more fun.
Please note that Odin shouldn't be the first one to pick(unless premade), in my experience it's best to wait to see what everyone else picks and 'measure' in your head the synergy. Something like Kali/Posieden has been a good combo, or Zeus, Power Hades(Or tank if you're a damage), Ares, Anubis, Kulkukan, Vulcan, Igni, Chaac, and a good Hel, Hou Yi. There's probably more, but I can't think of any off hand.

This is not the best guide by any means, but this should help give you a push in the right direction. Try different items and see how they work. Do a 1v1 with a friend and see what does more damage, etc.

Feel free to tell me what I did wrong. I may or may not fix it, but I'll definitely look into it while in a match.

For every other match, these builds still hold pretty true. I was in the All Out Assault MOTD(pick any god, assault map, no base teleport) and did amazing with the DPS build.

Solo lane really isn't that bad, you can use Lunge to clear waves after a few levels. You should be able to position your jump just right to hit all of them. One or two whacks at low levels should have the wave clear. Or you can Shout/Jump and make sure they all die, but at low levels, you can say good-bye to your mana in a hurry.
