Introduction

Notice: I'm open to any other opinions that fellow smiters may provide. Other than so, enjoy.

Welcome Fellow Smiters to my first and second guide of Nu Wa since her rework in August 2014. I'd like to start off with Nu Wa; Guardian of Heaven and Earth, and Creator of Humans. Coming from a female, she's smoking hot. Aside from her good looks, she's one hell of a push over. Not as easy as it seems, her skill shots could take some practice and time to get used to. But it's all worth the time and effort. She's a great essential to a team as an initiator, AOE damage/crowd control, pusher, DPS, and global security. Now; don't start *****ing at me if my build doesn't suite you. My play style with her isn't an assassin. I use her as a pusher/dps attack speed hence why I max out certain spells as to maxing out what you'd normally max out. Save your saltiness to the dinner plate.

Skins

What good is a Goddess without a little dash of customizations. What's available to you by spending a little bit of Gems are S K I N S. Be aware also that Nu Wa no longer wields a tail - I know QQ.

Default Skin

This is the default skin provided to everyone of course. As well as an in-game model to how the default skin looks like in game.

Amethyst Skin

This the purchasable skin available to everyone, no matter what level the smiter may be.

Golden Skin

In order to acquire this skin, you must be
ranked as God Rank 1. Also this skin is more costly than the previous skin mentioned.

Water Dance

A regular costing skin, with more of an earth like tone; very much in reference to Tiger Lilly, daughter of an Indian Chief.

Nice and Naughty

A christmas themed skin that does cost as much as a regular skin at 400 Gems; although is only available during the Christmas season.

Nu Horizons

A space themed skin, which does come with an alternative colored skin called "Aurum" in limited edition within the Undying chest. This skin is worth 400 Gems.

Challenger

A latest skin newly released to suite this summer's special event! Who the hell hates volleyball? come on. It comes with a different color alternative which is a part of a bundle at 400 Gems.

"I wish love was like volleyball. You call 'mine!' and everyone backs off." - Challenger Nu Wa

Got Skills?

Nu Wa's Skill Set

1) First off, what I tend to max out would be Nu Wa's Shining Metal spell. It's not only because of the stun duration, but it also helps to harass enemies by using the explosive damage dealt on creeps/minions.
2) My next skill to max out, would be her Clay Soldiers. The more you level up the soldiers, the more effective her soldiers' passive gets; which is magical protection reduction.
3) With the changes to Nu Wa's Mysterious Fog, leveling up the skill will not change the cooldown of the skill, with the exemption for the spell's damage output. To be honest, it'd be wise to max this last.
4) Level her Ultimate the standard way, as shown on the skill guide. Nothing really to change there.

  • Strength of Wood (Passive): After 5 successful basic attacks, Nu Wa's next basic attack will root enemies.
    Root Duration: 1.5 Seconds
Please note that Nu Wa's passive will be spent even if she misses her auto attack

  • Mysterious Fog (1): Fog damages enemies within the fog, dealing damage over time. It stealths allied teammates, including Nu Wa; giving herself movement speed. Please note that attacks will break stealth
Enemies on the other hand take damage, and damage over time as long as they remain within the fog.
Please note that attacks will break stealth

  • Clay Soldiers (2): Summons Clay Soldiers to fight for her. Passive gives a Magical Protection reduction. When this skill is used to summon your clay soldiers to attack an enemy, you may use your third ability Shining Metal to activate an explosive stun which also deals AOE damage.

  • Shining Metal (3): Nu Wa launches a mass of shining metal, damaging all enemies it hits. If it hits one of her Clay Soldiers, it explodes, dealing additional damage and stunning enemies.
Please note that stuns from multiple clay explosions DO NOT stack

  • Fire Shards (4): Nu Wa flies up into the clouds, gaining visibility on all enemy gods, and summoning fire shards from the sky to damage each of them.
Any enemy gods that die while Nu Wa is channeling her ultimate will always give her a kill assist, even if the damage portion of the ability doesn't hit them.

Team Work

Team work is what this game is base of, aside from the individual player skills. Nu Wa on the other hand plays a big role within that part of "team work". Using the kit that she has, she's able to save herself along with her allied teammates with the use of her Mysterious Fog. She's also able to initiate and deal damage with the use of her Clay Soldiers and Shining Metal which provides an AOE damage and Stun, while also providing a supportive kit such as her passive movement speed from Mysterious Fog.
How I play around with Nu Wa's skills is by usually being a pusher using Mysterious Fog. It's a very inevitable skill compared to Clay Soldiers, since the soldiers you summon can be easily destroyed. I tend to use to only stun, which is why I max out clay soldiers last. What I look for with the use of the soldiers, is my damage from Shining Metal and the stun duration. Another amplification and use of my passive Strength of Wood, which is a root, is by means of amplifying my attack speed - which will be further explained within the "items" section of the guide.
Now without further a do, Crowd Control is as useful as it is dependent with Nu Wa. Precision and practice of utilizing Clay Soldiers and Shining Metal will help initiate for your team, or save your behind with one hell of a stun. Use it wisely.

Items

Core Items

Vampiric Shroud is a helpful starting item. Depending on how you would like to start out, you can start with Vampiric Shroud as a standard item. It's not crucial, and the item itself is optional. A "benefact" (Benefit + Fact) to this item is that it gives the early health and ability power stats that can aid your survivability in the laning phase. A unique passive to this is that it restores 10 mana and health for every enemy you kill. Psst psst, creeps count as an "enemy killed".

I personally prefer these boots on Nu Wa. Benefact it gives Mana, an extra boost of Magical Power, as well as Magical Penetration.

One of my favorite items on Nu Wa. This item helps accentuate her auto attack, enabling her to activate her Root Passive . Telkhines Ring gives her the necessary attack speed and magical power. With the unique passive the item has, it helps emphasize her basic attacks of an extra 35 Magical Damage.

Aside from giving you more magical boost, this item also gives you Magical Lifesteal. It's a good sustain item if you want to keep your butt in the game. This item is usually, USUALLY bought as a third or fourth item although I buy this early enough to keep my butt in the game - Purchased after Telkhines Ring , since I'm usually bullied out of lane against physical damage bruisers in offlane such as Odin. I don't know about you but I like staying alive. But that's not all it does! It also gives your basic attack an extra magical damage of 75% of your Magical Power. Now a life stealing item such as this or Divine Ruin can be purchased as a secondary item depending whether or not you are being bullied during fights.

A worthy investment for Nu Wa. This item gives a huge boost of Magical Power. It's passive? It gives 25% more Magical Power! I mean literally... steroids anyone?

I don't know about you guys, but I like the consistency of Crowd Control and having my Clay Soldiers sticking on my enemies, ya know what I mean? With this bad boy, it's easier for you to keep a close grip on your enemies with Clay Soldiers, following a stun by Shining Metal, and finishing the combo with Mysterious Fog as it slows their mobility to run off, and just auto attack the **** out of them until you your Passive roots them. Sweet succulent kills <3

Last Items/Working Around The Standard

Late game is always a big deal, and the last item I tend to build is usually the item that benefits my late game, or counter the opponents' late game. These items are pretty much optional to replace the standard build that I normally use on Nu Wa. Changes among the standard as well is to replace the item Obsidian Shard due to a recent fact that I have received all thanks to Jordenito. Thank you babycakes LOL. So according to both him and the item effects of the shard, the granted penetration would be as effective based upon the opponents' defensive stats in magical defenses. Knowing my core items already consist of both Telkhines Ring, and Shoes of the Magi, it already gives enough penetration which is effective enough from mid game to late game.
Moving onto the optional items:

Chronos' Pendant, I learned from experience was a great late game item on Nu Wa. The cooldown reductions it gave me was amazing, knowing the cooldown on my ultimate was only 30 seconds because of this item! fapfapfapfapfap. Personally this item is the cherry on top of every ******* icecream <3

Soul Reaver in my opinion, is a very situational item. When one considers a team full of chunky tanks, you'll need this bad boy to deal damage based on the enemy's max health.

Divine Ruin, an item I know that would shut down life stealing or self healing pricks. Take this item if you wanna give that vampire his daily dosage of garlic.

Defensive Items

Magi's Blessing

Desperate times call for desperate measures when being one of the squishies in the game and, being constantly demolished to smithereens from Crowd Control. I personally would take one of these items against a team that has an assassin or two, or a team that has a butt ton of Crowd Control.

A complimentary item to Gem of Isolation ; as it converts health into ability power. It helps boosts your survivability by the use of increasing your health.

Nothing wrong with a little cooldown, also nothing wrong with being a bit more defensive either. This is one of the new items I encountered which I use in Arena; As you would know, Arena is well known for a lot of Area of Effect.

Warlock's Sash My all time favorite item. Since Nu Wa's very squishy, Warlock's Sash can give her the extra health boost while increasing alot of her magical power. I personally would carry this as a late game item, knowing her wave clear is easier in the late game.

Now I normally do not build this item, but when my arse is getting handed to me, this is an early item necessity. I advise that you take this item if you're laning against heavy pushers like Ra for the early defensive stats against him.

Actives

SprintCurseSanctuaryPurificationBlink
Actives are always situational in my opinion. Not ever game is the same. If it was, using your brain wouldn't be an issue. You may use certain actives to save your butt, or save a whole lot of you and your teammates.

Explanation
Sprint Sprint: One of the items that never fails to save my butt in tight situations. This item helps you to escape from marksmen that tends to chase from days on end.

Curse Curse: A situational active I tend to use against a healing/lifestealing dependent team. To top the healing reduction, it is also a movement speed reduction.

Sanctuary Sanctuary: I tend to use this to avoid being assassinated from any damage output from the opposing team. It's great to use if you wanna avoid Gods such as Loki.

Purification Purification: This Relic is what I like to call, my "anti-*******" active. Sometimes, you're always faced against a team with that one douche bag who wastes his crowd control on you, and usually the rest of the team follows with their method of crowd control as well. It's never the best thing to be in. An example of an ******* move, Hades and his (4)

Blink Blink: Another one of my personal favorites, when it comes to adding more mobility on myself. Sometimes the speed boost of isn't enough; therefore, I introduce you to Blink. This Relic enables you to teleport in short distances. Something like a flash. It helps if you like juking people or avoiding closed damages such as Kukulkan and his ultimate .

Wombo Combo Anyone?

I'd like to introduce everyone to the Wombo Combo section of this guide. This particular section pretty much explains or points out who Nu Wa can duo with or initiate with. By definition of Wombo Combo, it means the biggest initiation you can do for your team, giving the opponents a beautiful Genocide. This section is rated in simplicity as Easy, Average, and Hard. Each of the ratings is defined by the difficulty of the performed wombo combo. In other words, how hard was it to do the wombo combo. Let alone, COMMMUNICATION with your wombo combo partner(s) is the key.
Now, let's get *** kickin' shall we?

Please note, the following Gods and or Goddesses are the ones I have already worked with before. And if there are any addition to the wombo combos that you would like me to add, please let me know.

EASY
Hades

AVERAGE
Ao Kuang

HARD
Anuscylla; Anubis and Scylla

Pros / Cons

Pros

+ AOE; Also known as Area of Effect Damage Dealer
+ Pusher; (2) and
+ Disabler; Stun from her Clay Soldiers with Shining Metal
+ Able to Stealth Herself and Allied Teammates
+ Good addition to any team fight
+ Global Ultimate
Cons
- Easily targeted by Crowd Control(CC) and Assassins
- Low in defensive stats; in other words she's Squishy
- Play Smart; use her stealth kit properly or you're screwed
- Check your underwear after every game play

Will you be updating any time soon? Love this guide. <3 Just wondering if your opinion of anything on it has changed.

Great looking guide! I mainly play Arena, so i'm not quite sure how well these items would work in Conquest, but when I play her in Arena, i've found Bancroft's Talon and Breastplate of Valor work quite well. Maybe you could add BoV as a substitute for Chronos' Pendant if the enemy team is heavy on Physical damage? Also I would make the text in the teamwork section a bit bigger. Other than that though, great guide!

Great guide, everything from your build to your BBC Coding is spot-on. The only possible "problem" with your guide is a lack of laning and teamfighting tips. And,, this is a personal preferance but in my opinion Polynomicon should be gotten third or fourth. Regardless, of these insignificant nitpicks you did a fantastic job. +1 :3

The build is good. I would say though, you might not know this, but penetration is additive in SMITE. Meaning that if you have both Obsidian Shard and demon grip, you won't get 33% penetration + 21% penetration + 15 penetration from both their passives. Because Demonic Grip reduces the protections of the enemy, Obsidian Shard affects according to the enemies' current protections, so you'll get much less effectiveness from it. I'd recommend dropping Obsidian Shard - Shoes of the Magi and demon grip is enough penetration.
Other than that, everything is fine. Sometimes I like to rush telekhines ring on her, especially if I happen to fight against a mgical god in lane, but that's just personal preference. I do think that Void Stone has a place in the build, as a situational item.

The items explanations are good. Nothing more to say, really.

The skill order and section are... meh. Maxing flame strike first is the right choice, but I don't think that Clay Soldiers should be maxed before fog. The movement bonus from the latter, as I found it to be, much more useful than an extra Chinese man. Also, your skill explanations aren't satisfying. First up, you shouldn't copy the description from the ability to the guide itself (you did this with the passive). Instead you can explain how the passive works for each skill and perhaps tips for it. You could also expand more about the other skills.

There is no team fight section whatsoever. You lack gameplay in this guide.

This guide is very beautiful. It's aesthetic and the BBCoding is spot on. You do seem to not know the use of . If you put in the beginning of an item/god from the database, and then at the end of it, you'll end up with something like this:
Nu Wa
Code:
[[nu wa]]
Rod of Tahuti
Code:
[[rod of tahuti]]

This guide is... meh. It looks good and appealing, the items and build are fine, but the rest, aside from the aesthetics of the guide, aren't good. I... I'm not sure if I want to downvote this or not... It could be a great guide, but as of now, it's below mediocre. I won't vote. If you expand it, P.M me and I'll decide what to vote.

Very solid build, glad to see a decent maker! I'd suggest the possibility of adding alternative items outside of just defensives, such as Chronos' Pendant for CDR, Doom Orb/Warlock's Sash as a decent farming laner (she doesn't have much kill potential early, let's be honest), etc.

Your guide is RIDICULOUSLY aesthetically pleasing (almost as much as nu wa ;D) and I hope you make more guides! I can't even give too much of a decent critique because it's overall solid. Even if it isn't the best build or best whatever, you have solid logic, you put time into it, and you are straightforward. +1 from me :)

Not a bad guide at all! Build is solid, only thing I can suggest is to remove the Warlock's Sash from the stepbystep build order, not because it's a bad item, just that you already have 6 there and it's not great building it last.

Other than that, good job! ^^
