Introduction

Hi. This is my first guide so please be patient. So... the guide is about Nu Wa (duh) and I thought I should start off by selecting a god(dess) that everyone can play and not that difficult to comprehend.

This is MY build so if you have some other build that is different then mine, and think my build is complete trash, keep your build. Just because I'm doing a guide on how I play my Nu Wa does not mean everything in here is perfect. I suggest you test out my build, and modify your own build to better fit your play style.

This is a work in progress. So, there is not much details currently.

Pros/Cons

Pros
Decent CC (Minion stuns FTW!)
Nice minion clearing
Great damage
Invincible ultimate

Cons
Still pretty squishy
No real escape
After damage output, everything is on cool down, rendering her useless

Skills

Passive - Strength of Wood
After 5 successful basic attacks, Nu Wa's next basic attack will root enemies.
Root Duration: 1.5s

Most of the time, this ability is considered useless, but when timed correctly, it can ensure a kill. You may build attack speed on her like Hasten Fatalis or Demonic Grip to ensure the additional root, but this is totally not recommended due to the fact that she loses a LOT of power!

1st Ability - Mysterious Fog
Nu Wa condenses moisture into fog at her location which then rolls forward away from her. She and all allies are stealthed while inside the fog, and have increased movement speed. Attacking breaks the stealth effect. Enemies that run into the fog take damage, and continue to take 20% of that damage again every second they are in the fog.
Damage: 50/75/100/125/150 (+50% of your magical power) Lifetime: 6s
Movement Speed: 10% Radius: 20
Cooldown: 15 seconds Cost: 70/75/80/85/90 mana

Often used to initiate and as a pathetic attempt to flee, this ability can be used to deal further damage to the enemy (or enemies) while they are stunned or rooted. This can also be used to clear incoming minion from a safe distance though it does little to no damage. Great for stealthing allies into the mist just for them to surprise attack! Initiation guardians like Ares and Ymir are preferred.

2nd Ability - Clay Soldiers
Nu Wa conjures Clay Soldiers from the earth. These soldiers have health equal to 200 plus 20% of Nu Wa's maximum health, and deal damage with basic attacks. Enemies hit by their initial charge will take damage and have their magical protections reduced. Notes:
Damage: 20/30/40/50/60 Per Hit
Magical Protection Reduction: 5/10/15/20/25 for 2s/ max 3 stacks
Soldiers Conjured :1/2/2/2/3 for 10s Cooldown: 18 seconds
Cost: 60/70/80/90/100 mana

This is typically used to deal a ton of damage to enemies when paired with Shining Metal. The radius of the minion explosion is decent and comes with a free stun. Always use this stun period to root your enemy and dump your mist on them. These minions also shreds protections, so a supposedly tanky guardian may not be so anymore. Be warned though, Hi-Rez programmed them to be ******ed to they may abandon you to die while they fight minions. Use them when there are no nearby enemy minions to be more effective.

3rd Ability - Shining Metal
Nu Wa launches a mass of shining metal, damaging all enemies it hits. If it hits one of her Clay Soldiers, it explodes, dealing additional damage and stunning enemies.
Damage: 90/130/170/210/250 (+50% of your magical power)
Minion Explode: 30/60/90/120/150 (+30% of your magical power)
Minion Stun: 1/1.2/1.3/1.4/1.5s Range: 65
Cooldown: 8 seconds Cost: 60 mana

Not only can this be used in a combo, this is typically used to clear minion waves. The problem with this though is that once the metal is on cool down, you can't really do much. Additionally, the Shining Metal is difficult to hit.

Ultimate - Fire Shards
Nu Wa flies up into the clouds, gaining visibility on all enemy gods, and summoning fire shards from the sky to damage each of them.
Damage: 100/175/250/325/400 (+30% of your magical power)
Cooldown: 110 seconds
Cost: 100 mana

This ability is the ability that defines Nu Wa. Although many people consider it to be skill less, you can't really spam the ability or else it's just some random 80 damage for 120 seconds. Use it to ensure a kill if the can't can't be obtain by no one else (be a good sport, don't kill steal for fun).

Items

Warlock Sash
Health, health, health. This item is so good for most mages simply because it makes them (slightly) harder to kill as well as giving them a ton of power. This benefits Nu Wa really well since her minions scale off her health, and tanky minions are always better. The stacks are a bit hard to build, but it pays off at the end.

Shoes of Focus
Shoes of Focus is a wonderful item to get for Nu Wa simply because of the 10% cooldown reduction in its stats. Cooldown reduction is key for Nu Wa due to her abilities having outrageous cooldowns (120s is the longest Ultimate Cooldown in the game right now). Though starting off with the Shoes of Focus may result with a slow start, so, whatever floats your boat.

Chronos' Pendant
A must get. Her cooldowns are really, really long. You can get the Breastplate of Valor if there's a lot of physical on the enemy team, but you are giving up power and MP5.

Rod of Tahuti
Amazing amount of power and incredible passive, a must buy. I suggest buying it as the 3rd or 4th item, as if you are building my build, your power kind of stink. So this will help you scale fast.

Obsidian Shard
Absolutely necessary! Every god has some protection and without Obsidian Shard, a kill might get away because you didn't do 5 more damage due to protections. Also coupled with her minion's tank shredding potentials, you can really hurt a tank.

Pythagorean's Piece
With the nerf of all CDR items, I have been picking up Pythagorean's Piece. Not only does it give decent power, lifesteal, it also grants Nu Wa that 10% CDR. I always buy it last, but you can always buy it earlier for sustain or whatnot.

Relics

Purification
Always buy purification. Smite has way too much CC for you to not buy purification. Especially in Arena where CC literally wins the game.

Frenzy
Great item to use with Nu Wa's Ultimate allowing her ultimate to do more damage. You should buy this item near the end of the match where using Frenzy will scale her power a lot more.

General Gameplay

Nu Wa does not NEED the Mana Camp, it's good if she has it, but she does not necessary need it. Her abilities have long enough cooldown that she uses less mana than mages like Kukulkan or Chang'e.
After the initial skill upgrades (1,2,3) upgrade her minions at level 4. This provides her with an extra minion to hit and terrorize.
After maxing out her Shining Metal, proceed to max out her minions for extra burst damage. If you feel that maxing her Mysterious Fog is better, feel free to do it, but the damage on the Fog is close to nothing.
Try to play safe. Nu Wa has no real escape. Attack when your initiator decides to, and flee on the first command. She is really squishy and can't stay in the fight for long.
Use extreme timing to kill healers and Chang'e.
Grab the damage camp. If no one is taking it, take the camp, it provides you with extra power that can help you do some damage.
Use her Mysterious Fog both offensively and defensively. Use it as an initiation tool for your guardian or warrior as well as using it as a method of getting yourself and your allies away from the fight (Mysterious Fog is a great way to counter Loki seeking low health squishies).
