Hello everyone,
This is my first guide ever, so it will probably be rubbish, but I created it also for myself as I like to play Nox this way.
Please leave comments how I can improve my guides in the future!
The first thing you should do is max out your Siphon Darkness as fast as you can. Your second priority is maxing out your Nightfall Raven. In my opinion you can max those out before you put a single point into your Shadow Barrier, but to be save against bursty gods you could put one point into this ability.
You should most likely try to set up good teamfights and dominate them by taunting and poking enemies whenever you can. Your ult goes through everything except for walls, so try to hit more gods if you can! Also be sure you remember there's a stun at the end of your ult. Use this to set up your other abilities. And at last: please dont cast your Night Terror, when an enemy has just used almost every ability they have. It is a waste of such a powerfull zoningtool.
Mid: Just take the standard mid build; Vampiric Shroud is really powerful on Nox and Tiny Trinket keeps her alive. As backup you have your healing potion.
[*] For the late game you should make sure you buy Shoes of Focus as soon as you can, for it gives you the speed a mage misses and a nice cooldown.
[*] Next finish your Bancroft's Talon to make sure you can stay in the lane.
[*] After finishing Bancroft's Talon, you should start stacking; When you are defeating your lane opponent with easy, without getting shredded, you should probably go for Book of Thot. When you are getting outpushed and ganked often, go for Warlock's Sash. When you do not start building stacking items for your third or fourth item, it will be too late to do so late game!
[*] Now you have two options: 1. Get Obsidian Shard to shred all enemies in your path, or 2. get Chronos' Pendant for the cooldown. Even tho She has Shoes of Focus, Chronos' Pendant will allow you to poke your enemies with Siphon Darknesss every 1.8 seconds!
[*] You ahould always go for physical protection if you face a physical enemy in solo lane. Silver Breastplate is in my opinion the best item and provides you enough protections and mana to stay in lane. The pretty low cost also allows you to buy some wards or mana potion of which the last option is my favorite choice. Healing potion are almost a must-have for Nox as she is slow and squishy.
[*] At the first time you back try to make sure you can buy full Breastplate of Valor and some new potions and wards. If you can stay longer and have a nice time defending your lane. Stay a bit longer and wait untill you can also buy Magic Shoes. This provides you the speed a mage lacks and also gives you some power.
[*] Next you will prefer lifesteal over power or any more protection. Bancroft's Talon is nice and gives you advantage if you are low and trying to poke down enemies. It gives you a good chance of escaping.
[*] Hide of the Urchin can also be replaced by Magi's Blessing if enemies have hard CC and you get wrecked. You will need the protections and passives when facing a physical team.
[*] Right now, Rod of Tahuti is a very good choice for Nox, as it gives her insane power. Chronos'Pendant is not prefered, as you already have full cooldown reduction. You could go for Shoes of the Magi and buy Chronos Pendant instead of Bancroft's Talon as third item.
[*] As you will have enough sustain and it is too alte for stacking, you will prefer Gem of Isolation above Warlocks Sash. You rarely see a Nox with Gem of Isoltaion or Aetherial Staff, but it suites her well.
[*] Start with Golden Sash and a healing potion, as you will get blue buff you will not immediately need the mana potion. If you do not like this start I recommend to start Vampiric Shroud with Lost Artifact. For real try-hards; you CAN buy Radient Orb, tho you will have no sustain and will have to get an aerly kill to keep up and not to get outpushed! You fall behind and get killed early in the game, you might as well surrender!
[*] Finisheing Warlock's Sash as early as you can provides you early stacking, which is pretty good, but you could also first get Shoes of Focus and after that Warlock's Sash.
[*] In this case I prefer Polynomicon above Bancroft's Talon, for the passive effect and the lower cost. You are going to have a hard time in lane, so you might not have much gold to spend.
[*] Next Telkhines Ring provides you attack speed, which works fine with Polymonicon and Magical Protections. If you like to have more power and no protections, buy Demonic Grip. Though I do not recommend to get this item instead of protections, you could swap it for Magi's Blessing or Chronos' Pendant(not recommended).
[*] Magi's Blessing is a must-have for a squishy mage god. It provides you CC-reduction AND immunity every 45 seconds. If you do not face enemy gods with hard CC, buy Hide f the Urchin instead. When you don't have trouble holding your lane and staying alive in teamfights. Buy Demonic Grip instead for extra damage.
[*] Last but not least is Chronos' Pendant. This is the first item you will erase from your build and switch for Demonic grip or Rod of Tahuti. As it is just the cooldown reduction and power you want it for, it is not so good late game. When needed, buy Obsidian Shard or Spear of the Magus.
As Nox you have some pros and cons.
Pros: insane damage and very good poke potential, pretty solide laning face, insane late game if you can keep up early game and mid game.
Cons: VERY squishy, easily outpushed, just poke early game, Nox will easily fall behind early game and NEVER catch up late game. Without a solide early game you are screwed.
I think Nox is a very nice mage and is best played in Mid lane, but could also deal with solo lane and even jungling, though I did not include such a guide in here.
There is lots of builds for Nox, one by one good!
