Disclaimer

This is very off-meta, and may not work for you. It works for me, so I wanted to share. Let me know what you think of my Chaac playstyle in the comments. If you play him right, you should be laughing hysterically the whole game. Thanks! Good luck! Have fun!

Chaac is a Mage

If you think of Chaac as a mage, this build works extremely well. If you think of Chaac as a warrior, you'll have a hard time understanding why I build two stacking items on him. Now shut up and get in the Chaaca.

Introduction

Since you'll be playing a physical melee god in mid lane, you have to be absolutely sure you watch your positioning at all times. Your jungler will be your best friend. This works best when paired with someone playing a god like Awilix, Athena, Cabrakan, or Ratatoskr in the jungle and a magical god playing Solo or Carry. Playing Chaac in the mid lane is highly dependent on team composition, meaning you should (ideally) only use it when you have a magical Carry, Solo, or Jungle, or a combination of the three. Your whole team is going to be off-meta. This is meant to offset the damage types when there is already too much magical damage, or provide the possibility of a tanky damage dealer when the Solo Laner is playing a squishy mage. The key to this build is to work together with your Jungler to get ahead of the enemy mid laner.

Core Items

Transcendence

:
Transcendence gives you a ton of Mana and Physical Power, which you're going to need to be effective early game. It'll be your equivalent to Book of Thoth. Build it early to really harass the enemy mid laner.

Warrior Tabi

:
A staple. Doesn't Need any explanation.

Jotunn's Wrath

:
CDR, Physical Power, Physical Penetration, and Mana. Why would you not build this? More pain, more often.

Runeforged Hammer

:
Chaac loves this item. It pairs so well with his Rain Dance. This should be a late game item. It is meant for team fights, as it has a passive that is essential to getting those diecides.

Situational Items:

Bloodforge

:
I don't do this often, but when I do, I'm usually VERY far ahead. Gives sustain in Lifesteal as well as a Sheild and Movement Speed when you get a kill. I build this with Devourer's Gauntlet or Shield of Regrowth to make the enemy team very mad when I backline dive. Also, because it's just plain hilarious.

Brawler's Beat Stick

:
A standard Anti-Heal item. Use only as such.

Runic Shield

:
Counter's the mid laner who's probably a mage, as well as the carry, and any attack speed based assassins with it's passive. Also gives Physical Power (YAY) and a small bonus of Magical Protection. A very solid pick.

Sheild of Regrowth

:
Physical Power, Physical Protection, CDR, and a Movement Speed buff to help you get out of sticky situations, or get away after backline diving. Yes, you're going to backline dive. Hard. Even harder if there's a friendly Khepri. Twice as hard if you build Bloodforge.

Titan's Bane

:
Needs no explanation. It makes you hurt.

Void Sheild

:
Surprise, it makes you hurt. BUT WAIT! It makes your teammates hurt more too! AND it gives you Physical Protections. With passive AOE Physical Protection Reductions, this item synergizes SO WELL with Runeforged Hammer. I recommend building the two together when you have a physical carry. These two items paired together will make your team fight capability devastating (if you have a physical carry). It'll also help you secure the kill, and absolutely punish with Storm Call.

Witchblade

:
I don't build this often. It's really my only way to hard counter an Arachne, which I have a hard time dealing with.

Laning Phase

1. Be Careful - use your heal often early game
2. WARDS - avoid getting ganked
3. Work with the Jungler to get ahead
4. GANKS - there are no breaks on the Chaac Train
5. USE CHAAC'S PASSIVE!!!!

Late Game and Team Fight Phase

I can't really explain how I play late game. I've just gotten into a flow with Chaac. I guess the best way to put it is that you're going to be a primary source of damage and disruption. I try to hit my ult on as many people as possible to mess up their positioning, and possibly feed an Awilix a kill. Otherwise, I backline dive, act as an off-tank (when my Rain Dance is up), and try to harass the enemy team as much as possible. You'll figure it out if you try it. Just act like a frontline mage. Now get in the Chaaca!

Remember your combo: Thunder Strike, Rain Dance BEFORE THE AXE HITS, Torrent, and then Storm Call. You're going to hurt. A lot.
