Introduction

Hey everyone! I'm OMGASIA, casual Smite addict. While I know how to enjoy all casual game modes, I mostly play Joust and Arena. I’ve decided to start getting basic guides up for new Gods as they are released so there is a starting point for players who weren’t able to test them on the PTS. This isn't meant to be a definitive end all be all on Medusa. This is the way I've enjoyed playing her so far, and possibly others will enjoy as well!

Introducing Medusa !

I wonder how her hair feels about conditioner...

Disclaimer

This guide is out of date, and I will not be updating it further. For further explanation check my blog (Click here!)

I'm keeping this guide up for the time being for reference. Please check out the other wonderful Medusa guides for the most up to date information.

Pros and Cons

Pros:
  • She strafes without penalty.

  • She can reduce enemy healing.

  • Her ultimate can turn a teamfight around.

  • She turns people into statues. With her face. Holy ****.
Cons:
  • Compared to other hunters her steroid isn't as efficient at taking objectives.

  • Her best utility skill is also her only reliable escape.

  • Her ultimate is easy to negate with actives.

  • She probably can't brush her hair without getting bit.

Conclusion

Aww, she even matches her arrows to her snakes!

Thanks for taking the time to read my guide. This guide is a release guide only, meaning after her release it will not be updated beyond balancing. Please feel free to leave feedback! Healthy discussion in the comments section can help all players. :)

Updates

4/29/15

  • Updated Other Guides section

  • Added the builds and skill purchase order to the top
  • Added the S2 Standard Builds to the Build section. (Thanks MoonTiger!)
  • Removed "Pardon Our Appearance" disclaimer as Medusa is now supported :D
  • Resized icons in Build section so they weren't so overwhelming.

It's nice to see that you're still on SMITEFIRE making guides!! I took a break from SMITE, but i'm considering starting up again. I played hou yi a couple of weeks ago, and I wrecked, but maybe we could play sometime. Hit me up on skype ([email protected], or shamrockninja), steam ([Spaceweed]Shamrockninja) or bnewell7381, and SMITE (Quaerenti). Thanks!

Yeah, You should put Viper Shot between the Petrify and acid spray combo.

Hastened Fatalis is a good idea??

I have found it good to focus a bit more one her abilities compared to other hunters. I get most of my kills from her 1, especially once i get crit items, and since her 1 gives +100% attack speed there isn't much need for attack speed items, just power to get a strong 1 AND crits.
Her 2 is also great for dealing dmg (also the poke), so once again I want more power. And then there is her ult, which scales great with her power.

I end up only having 1 attack speed item, executioner, otherwise it's power, crits, lifesteal, mana and cdr.

Nice builds :) personnaly i love ataraxia build when i'm adc with medusa, but when i build it i play very close to my tower or at range for Medusa 3 in case of gank. I'm beginning to be aggressive when i build Devourer's Gauntlet, Heartseeker and Hastened Fatalis or when i'm sure i'm alone against the other adc. After that, i had quite the success with Transcendence on solo lane but i'm building Devourer's Gauntlet on her not Asi since Medusa is better with raw power in my opinion.

I've been seeing lots of Medusa players kicking butt with Hastened Fatalis for sure. I'm also a fan of Devourer's Gauntlet on my own. I personally don't play Conquest so I don't work my personal builds for it at all. It's good to know alternate builds are working great too though!

Just a very small correction; Witchblade does not give movement speed any more. Other than that, it was a great guide, thank you!

Oh, yes! Thank you! I totally just copy/pasted the Witchblade info from my outdated guide lol. Oops! Fixed it, thanks again!

wait the other accepted build for competitive is ataraxias "k" build which is devs, hs, hf, exec, rage, db. although replacing devs for asi gives more dps, for medusa her one scales with pwr so she is one of the few characters u would rather have devs on

I haven't actually tried the Ataraxia ADC build on her yet. I'm personally not a huge fan of using Heartseeker because I hate that the stacks are halved when you die. It is a great snowball piece but unless my deaths are minimal I feel like it tends to bite me in the tush.

I've seen lots of critique on the actual damage output of the Ataraxia build as well. Yes there is more movement utility with the build, but I feel Medusa does fine with just boots and doesn't need Hastened Fatalis. That being said it's not a bad build, just not one I personally would use.
