Introduction

Hey everybody! Today I'm here to break the meta. I know some of you maybe skeptical about Medusa jungling but fear not, she is very viable thanks to her amazing burst damage (pre-nerf) and basic attack strength that she inherited from being a hunter. So without further ado, let's begin.

Items

This one is pretty straight foward. Start Bumba's Mask, Boots, Hand of the Gods, and two Healing Potions. It is the standard jungler's start.

On your first back, you should have enough gold to pick up Warrior Tabi and maybe a Spiked Gauntlet that you can build into a Devourer's Gauntlet later on. Next up, is the mandatory Deathbringer and Rage combo. This will allow you have a much more viable basic attack and it will be able to shred through most opponents.

I decided to throw on Jotunn's Wrath in her build because her burst damage is amazing through her Acid Spray and Petrify. It will also allow her to gain access to her Viper Shot and Lacerate a lot faster. Now we have The Executioner. It is an item that is more of a fill but will still work very well. Other options are Transcendence and magi's blessing. Transcendence works very well with Medusa because she often has low mana due to ability spamming (though only get this if you are sure you can fully stack early on in the game). Magi's Blessing is only needed if there is a lot of hard CC being thrown around and you aren't fed enough to deal with it.

Actives are pretty straightforward. I get Wrath of the Gods so my team has an extra one (the other being on the support) in case the enemy team tries to steal the Fire Giant or the Gold Fury. Next is a toss up between many candidates. The first is Greater Purification to null CC, then Greater Aegis to gain damage immunity and finally, Weakening Curse to prevent enemies from escaping. In most situations, I would pick either the Beads or the Weakening Curse. Beads is for the annoying Ares, Ymir or just any god with an obnoxious stun or slow. Weakening Curse is obviously used for punishing enemy gods that are overextended or are really weak and would escape otherwise.

Strategy

Now here is what you guys have all been waiting for - how the hell Medusa works in the jungle. It's quite easy really. When you goes to gank from the jungle, you should IMMEDIATELY start basic attacking. Their initial reaction is to turn toward you to see exactly where you are. This is the perfect time to use Petrify. Follow up quickly with Acid Spray to deal AOE damage due to its explosive property. Proceed to kill with Lacerate (even if this doesn't kill it will prevent most healing). If for some reason the enemy god still lives, shoot them with Viper Shot so that the poison damage, if not the basic attack damage, will kill.

Who works well with Medusa?

The best god by far to work with Medusa is ironically Athena. This is due Confound drawing her target toward her allowing for a well placed Petrify to finish off the enemy.

Other good team match-ups are Ymir with his crazy amount of stun time on Frost Breath and Sylvanus due to his multiple forms of CC.

Who beats out Medusa?

I haven't found a counter yet to Medusa but please post in the comments who is. If I had to say someone it would probably be anyone with a strong CC or Aphrodite if she can dodge the Lacerate and heal off a lot of damage quickly.

umm...missing teamfight section, jungling route, situational items,

ok so time for the real criticism

there is a reason ppl will be skeptical about medusa jungle. she is squishy and, while innately gifted with the uncanny ability to juke, a stun or slow will keep her locked down. also, her dash roots her in place for a split second after making contact, making both cc and damage easy to land on her. her dash is the only we she can initiate during a gank, because you dont have a frostbound or hastened in your build for a basic attack to stick to someone. if u basic attack and they see you, they leap away. she has no cc to lock down targets with except her ult, which is already a problem. while her jungle clear is fine due to acid spray and the dot from her one, your build completely destroys her ability to box.

ive been working on a guide for every adc in the game for months now, and so obv ive calced dpses and stuff. medusa can outbox a hou yi even if mark of golden crow is applied on her the whole duration. your build doesnt take advantage of her powerful basic attack. first of all, ninja tabi over warrior, sonce her attack speed doesnt cap with just ninja tabi and executioner. secondly, jotunns wrath is unviable on medusa since her mana consumption is fine early on and cdr doesnt benefit her that late as much as raw power will. transcendence is good for thisraw power, and magis simply gives up too much potential damage (such as executioner or db).

also there is the innate problem of lack of cc during a teamfight. a junglers job in the lategame is to be able to steal objectives with hog 3 and provide cc support for the team to help lock down weak targets like the enemy adc and mage. characters like thor are good junglers bc of their ability to stun or peovide constant aoe damage. medusa has only one true cc and her healin reduction is single target. herult isnt even that wide of a cone. she also has to run hog to be able to steal, and not taking bluestone early will really impede her sustain. this means she has to back more often, and she will not be able to get both beads and sprint late game.

so overall, she is just not a good jungler, and btw the standrad start of jungler now is bumbas, hog TWO and one of each potion. keep up wit the spl from time to time :P

but add missing sections

It is a very detailed guide but I must say it is missing a few sections, eg. Teamwork, Abilities.
Other then that It is a good guide, just needs a bit more work.
