As simple as a god like Odin can seem, this guide shows how one would perfect him in joust, and allow you to be more aggressive. This build is solid for both ranked and unranked.
First off, the item set. It's a tank set for the first half, then focuses entirely on cage fighting, hence the name of the build. Reinforced grieves give you that start of game survivability that is crucial for this build. Next, Breastplate of Valor and Bulwark of Hope. High defenses are the main purpose, but the increased mana, cdr, and health are a plus, not to mention Bulwark's oh **** bubble. Next, Jotunn's Wrath. More cdr (40% in total now) and mana, with a little penn. Qin's Sais are where you drop the bomb on your prisoners. With all that power and 4% damage for each basic attack, you can pretty much melt anyone now. Bloodforge is the icing on the cake, and the salt in the wound. At this point, they may have built some penn, but oh well for them when you get the final shot and escape with 2 bubbles...and having +75 attack doesnt hurt.
Next, the strategy. Sanctuary or Purification. All that matters is "do they have a ****ton of cc? Then beads, otherwise, Sanctuary. Curse second, as the longer the game goes, the more chances your opponents have to escape. With the build i gave you, you will have enough for 2 wards, which you ward the jungle bridge with, on each side. Next, head to damage camp. 4 times out of 5 you will be contested, but i find that no matter who your teamates are you will have a good chance here (assuming they arent completely braindead). Next, stay in lane till you hit lv4. Odin is very mana hungry until you get about halfway through the build, but dont leave lane without leveling at least once. Once you have the cage, its as simple as hop the wall or the mana camp with a charged shield and cage them in. The build i use allows me to take a beating but still make it out alive, for the first half, and the second half i spend beating the **** out of them myself. As Odin's cage is able to combo with most ultimates, you will find that your cage stacks will build quick. Rinse and repeat for the remainder of the match, and chances are, they will quit from being too aggrivated.
Communication is key to this guide. Even if all you have are the emotes, always convey what your actions will be. Keep wards up, be aggressive, and don't be afraid to tower dive a few times. I had 9 surrenders in a row with this build, and a bastet/hades comp, so i hope it will work for everyone.
