Introduction

You ever see something for the first time, and just weep at the sight of its immense beauty? For some, they weep at the sight of a girl's immense booty. When I first saw Cupid's kit, I immediately spent 3000 favor, because he was just so balanced. Now, his kit... GOT BUFFED! IceColdPappsi back here to bring you a Cupid guide.

Pros / Cons

Cupid is so easy to use, I might have to remove the "For Dummies" part of the title.

Pros
- So much CC
- Fast and safe Dash
- Team Heal
- OK Clear
- Great Team Fight Potential
- Utility for days

Cons
- Squishy
- Mid to Late Game
- Only 2 Damaging Abilities
- Hard Combo

Abilities

Get ready.

Passive: Lovestruck
This is a buff that stacks. Each basic attack gives you a stack, and when at 8 stacks, your 1 and ult have added effects. Each stack increases your 1 and ult's damage and your 2's healing by 2%. DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THIS BOOST!

Ability 1: Heart Bomb
This is a line ability. If you hit any enemy, it deals damage and slows. After a few seconds, it explodes, dealing damage again to that target and damaging enemies around that target. Do take note that it now gives away the area of the explosion, so enemies can walk out of it. Also, if an enemy were to die to the first hit of damage, it will explode. At max stacks, this ability will do 16% more damage, and stun the target that got hit with the initial heart when it explodes.

Ability 2: Share The Love
You select an area, and three hearts pop up out of that area. Anyone on your team can pick up these hearts to restore health, including you. If an ally picks up these hearts, you will restore 30 mana, which early game, can mean life or death. At max stacks of your passive, this will heal for an extra 16%.

Ability 3: Flutter
This is a super fast dash. It passively increases your attack speed as you level it up. It also leaves behind a trail that increases allies' movement speeds.

Ability 4: Fields Of Love
This is a huge AOE that slows AND cripples enemies in the field, meaning that they can't jump, dash, or teleport out of it. After a few seconds, it mesmerizes all enemies in the area, which is a stun that is broken when damage is taken, for 1.5 seconds. At full stacks, it does 16% more damage, and mesmerizes for 3 SECONDS! Quick combo: throw down you ult, dash towards them for a Heart Bomb and a few basics, then your ult will mesmerize them, then you 1 will stun them, meaning that they aren't mesmerized anymore, allowing you to kill them with basics. Its optimal that you don't have full stacks when you throw your ult, but that you do have full stacks when you fire your 1.

Items

Now, after reading the above abilities, it may seem like Cupid is a support in disguise. I mean, that kit tho. Time to do him his hunter justice.

Build 1: Parasitic Marriage
It is time to reveal the inevitable truth: people get married and have kids. That's why you're here reading, and why I'm here making this guide. But it is no easy task. It drains you of your mental, physical, and financial stability. This build is here to hopefully get you back and running. If you are true to the ADC name, then this build is perfect. Jotunn's Wrath is there for the basic cooldown reduction and flat penetration. Brawler's Beat Stick is there to reduce the healing of the enemies. The Executioner will help you in the penetration department. Qin's Sais will be your last item to help with your damage against more tankier opponents that are standing between you and your deicide. Lastly, Devourer's Gauntlets is there to increase you lifesteal. However, if you don't know what ADC means, and therefore can't be one, then Asi is there to give more benefits to keep you alive long enough to get another kill. Asi will give you 40% lifesteal when you reach low health. Titan's Bane is a great alternative to The Executioner, as you do not need to stack on the penetration.

Build 2: Tough Love
This is your standard hunter build. Warrior Tabi for power, Transcendence for early game mana and power lead, Jotunn's Wrath for cooldown, Titan's Bane for penetration, and Malice and Deathbringer for that massive crit damage. It is essential to build stacks as early as possible to really boost your damage. Not much changes in the Feeding except for two items. Rage to give you more crit chance, and Wind Demon can replace Deathbringer if you are having trouble catching up with your enemies.

Build 3: Drunken Booty Call
I don't drink, but it is said that drunk people think and see things at a slower pace, meaning they make more irrational choices. Like booty calls. If you've been drinking responsibly, then the Fed build can help you reach 2.5 attack speed as your mind hasn't numbed yet. Odysseus' Bow chains lightning, Qin's Sais will help shred those health points on tanks and beefy warriors. Lastly, with full attack speed, you can hit more basics with less penalty, proccing The Executioner a lot more. But then you start drinking more. Right now, you're drunk outta your mind, so you really need help with kills. Hastened Fatalis will increase your movement speed for hitting basics, almost making it seem as if you're moving twice as fast as them.

Final Words

Thank you for reading through this guide. Hopefully, you have fallen in love with Cupid's kit as much as I have. If you would like, please check out my guides on Agni, Ravana, and Mercury. If you have any suggestions or feedback, please do so in a respective manner. No one needs your sass. Lastly, if you're ever feeling down after getting wrecked so hard in a match, reevaluate yourself while you're drinking a tall glass of IceColdPappsi.

I would like to thank DucksRocks and Branmuffin17 for slapping some sense into me.

Thank you for the information...and thank you for getting playful with the description behind your build. I get bored easily when reading blah blahs...build is pretty decent...but since we all have our very own gaming style and can't and also shouldn't play like another I did have to change some things up ingame...which is a must to know how to do since you need to know how to play and counter against other Gods...But you gave a good info base.

1K VIEWS IN 2 DAYS?! It took my Agni guide almost a week to reach that much! I do thank you for reading my guide. If you guys want me to, I can try to put Conquest sections in my guides, but it might take a while to really perfect them, as I do have to play them in Conquest. If you'd like, pls check out my guides on Mercury and Ravana so that they can get as popular as this one, and because neither of them have any feedback.

sorry, but this is well, terrible. i can't really hide it, but that's just the truth.

first of all, you telling bran to "just change the build in game" is just completely disrespectful and is one of the wrost answers you could have come up with. that is why i downvoted before seeing your responce.

your build includes: building stacks at the 3rd slot, and Devourer's Gauntlet of all. why? please dont. just build Asi instead.

you have no attack speed. at all. you use double lifesteal, your second build is legit full of item combinations on hunters that should never be done ever. Mail of Renewal is completely terrible on hunters.

your tough love build is actually better, but why don't you build trans first and where's the lifesteal? plus, Deathbringer as a second crit item is common knowledge.

and tbh, bran covered everything perfectly. but you threw that review out the window. sorry if this was unpleasant, but i despise that response of "just change the build in game". your just refusing to recognize the many issues with these builds, which is horrible.

@Ducks: there's also the possibility that they just don't understand the potential issues with the builds. And that's okay, but it's also important to want to learn and be open to feedback of all kinds.

Look, i'm really sorry. Wasn't trying to be disrespectful. It just seems to me that if i were to follow all the advice you guys gave me, that the builds would seem to similar. I wasn't looking for hate or anything. And, muffin, I do like response on my builds, but it just looks like you wanted me to change everything. It didn't sit with me well earlier. Please understand, and again, please do accept my apology.

Hey Pappsi,

I see you're starting to produce a bunch of guides...this is the first one I've looked at, but I can also take a look at others if you'd like.

You may or may not agree with my comments...just understand that I'm here to help, and am not trying to insult or otherwise put down your builds...just offering my opinion.

You haven't indicated (or I've missed it) which mode(s) this is for, but for now I'll assume it's universal...just so you know where I'm coming from.

If you DO specifically adapt this for Conquest, you really want to add starting items...usually Death's Toll for ADCs, but in Cupid's case, maybe he'd want Bluestone Pendant.

In teamfight modes (e.g. Arena/Clash/Assault), I definitely build Jotunn's Wrath as a core item...you want to use his Heart Bomb and Fields Of Love as much as possible. But in Conquest, or longer modes where laning is more against 1 or 2 enemies at a time for a good portion of the match, I'm not so sure it's as necessary. I dunno...maybe it still is. I do love me some Jotunn's Wrath. I guess, if you like it, it should still work well...the power it provides is always nice, and it comes with a bit of flat pen.

With regard to your skill leveling, in pretty much any mode, you're going to want to level Heart Bomb first, just for general damage output and wave clear. Put one point into Flutter for the escape...the attack speed increase is fine, but it's low, and you're not going to get much out of it in the early game with no other attack speed items. Start putting points into Flutter in the mid or late game.

Parasitic Marriage Fed Build

That said, in pretty much any mode, Devourer's Gauntlet, if chosen, should NOT be chosen as the 3rd item. It takes 75 stacks, and you want that online as quickly as possible, so it normally would be purchased first or second at the latest.

As for the rest of your items...well, they're all nice with regard to power and pen, but I don't think it's optimal. Now that his attack speed steroid (though low) is a passive effect from his Flutter, you probably want to capitalize on that enhanced attack speed as much as possible. This means Qin's Sais or crits are probably good late items for him. You definitely want at least 1 or 2 attack speed items.

Also...definitely don't go Bloodforge after you've built Devourer's Gauntlet. Double lifesteal is not efficient. Late game, you might consider replacing Devo's with Bloodforge, but...just don't get both. I mean, you also have Share The Love if you need to help heal up a bit between fights.

How I'd see this build going, using Jotunn's and no Devo's: Warrior Tabi, Jotunn's Wrath, Asi, Qin's Sais, Titan's Bane, Brawler's Beat Stick or The Crusher (depending on enemy healing abilities).

With Devo's: Devourer's Gauntlet, Warrior Tabi, Jotunn's Wrath, Qin's Sais, The Executioner, Brawler's Beat Stick. At least...something like that.

Parasitic Marriage Feeding Build

This one is a yikes. You're just not going to be very effective when 3 of your items have 0 power. Mail of Renewal just shouldn't be used with Cupid...and if you're feeding, you're probably not going to proc the passive much. You've also got double lifesteal again, with Asi and Soul Eater. Choose one...but with his Flutter, you should generally not need the added health and move speed that Soul Eater provides, unless the enemy team has tons of mobility. Just play safer.

Tough Love (both builds)

Just like the idea with Devourer's Gauntlet or any stacking item, you usually want to build it first. Keep in mind, you've got Flutter as an escape, so get Transcendence before Warrior Tabi.

Not sure what's going on, but in these builds, you have 0 lifesteal items...you went the other direction!!! Lifesteal is great when you're boxing...maybe you're looking to burst the enemy down, and then heal up later with Share The Love or something? Mind explaining your reasoning here?

Deathbringer should just always be the 2nd crit item. I'd also bypass Rage in most cases, unless you're so behind the enemy that you'll get more out of the single crit item from the lower cost...and not expecting to finish your last item for a while. You also have 0 attack speed items...and although the high power goes well with crit, you really should have at least 1 attack speed item to increase your DPS. I'd delay or not even get Titan's Bane, then, and maybe consider The Executioner instead.

Drunken Booty Call (both builds)

I like you putting in some humor in your guide. Always appreciate humor. I can DEFINITELY tell you that being drunk SLOOOOOWS you down...not speeds things up. Way slower reaction time. See my Bacchus guide if you want some type of proof that I know what I'm talking about =P

That said, the point of a build shouldn't ever be to skim the attack speed cap...it should always be about DPS. It's good that you're not overcapping on either build, but I'm just not sure Odysseus' Bow is a good item for Cupid, especially in the 4th position. It has no power, and although you build power in other items, the passive is enhanced with higher power...so I'd delay this to 5th or 6th item...you'll get a much better DPS boost with Qin's Sais.

Also...you're making this a hybrid build...you've still got Jotunn's Wrath in there, which is okay, but there are other items that might be more helpful...a lifesteal item, an early Ichaival to be replaced late by The Executioner, etc.

You have Transcendence as item #3 in your Fed build again...if you build, it really NEEDS to be earlier.

Also...in your Feeding build, you have both Hastened Fatalis and Frostbound Hammer. Pretty much always a no-no because it should be unnecessary to have both. Neither is picked up by most hunters, though Fatalis absolutely has a place in some situations (and especially with Medusa). AND...with Fatalis and Odysseus, you again have multiple items with 0 power. Suggest against it.

Any basic attack build should be centered around either Qin's Sais or crits...and only your first one has either of those.

I like your effort, but I see some definite room for improvement in the builds. If you have questions or want further feedback on any of the details I've provided, please let me know and I'll try to explain.

Thank you for the feedback. I usually gear my guides towards people who aren't into conquest. People who are taking up a god for the first time, or are just a low point and don't know what to do. Conquest is full of harrasers, serious people, and the meta. Personally, i don't like to deal with that. I always try to supply multiple builds with set teams. These are always suggestions for people. In your case, you looked at my builds, and said that they could be changed. And in game, you can change them to your liking. Say you like my Drunken Booty Call build, but think its needs more power. You can adjust it to just that. Lastly, this are just builds that I think work well. Not everyone is going to agree with what I think. Case in point, you. Sorry,
1
Branmuffin17 (394) | October 11, 2016 6:49pm
Based on your response, I'll assume you probably don't want my feedback on your other guides.

I can understand not gearing toward Conquest, at which point, items like Jotunn's Wrath absolutely do function better.

I will point out that I very much prefaced my comments by saying they're my opinion. And I also didn't just look at your build and said they could be changed. I read what you wrote on them too.
