Introduction

Hello guys. This is a guide+build, that shows/tells you how YOU become good with Loki - The Trickster God!

A guide brought to you by PoMutzi & Mariago

If you have any questions, feel free to ask them down in comments, or add PoMutzi in-game

Items

At first you should start out by buying Bumba's Mask, Hand of the Gods + a few Healing Potion's

We start out with Bumba's Mask & Hand of the Gods , because, it simply can't get any better. You want help with the first 2 camps in the jungle, and with Bumba, you won't lose any gold. Hand of the Gods is good in all cases, because you can clear a creep camp fast. Simple facts.

Once you have upgraded your 1st item --> Warrior Tabi you sure do wanna go for Qin's Sais. As for your jungling, you get Phys power, lifesteal and attackspeed, when it comes to ganks, you take percentages of their HP on each attack.

For 3rd item comes Focused Voidblade. Physical; power, protection & penetration, it helps you taking down your enemies + it boosts ur own protection while still providing with a little power.

4th item will be Hydra's Lament. An assassin's job, is to be able to burst out tons of damage, in a small amount of time. I prefer to get the job done, within the stun-time of my ulti, which is doable with this build. You simple hit with your ulti, press 3, hit them again and bam.

Deathbringer + Malice is for the late game. If the game is taking lots of time, you might aswell go for a little carry. With these 2 items in ur build, you will become even nastier. You will crit more often, and crit for more dmg. I can nearly guarantee that this build, is a winners build. If you don't believe me, you're not playing Loki as you should be playing him.

As for a little hint. Upgrade your Hand of the Gods to Fist of the Gods early in the game. The 1s stun, makes you even more dangerous when you're ganking lanes.

Skills

Loki's passive Behind You! is pretty insane. It gives you 20 % extra damage, when you are attacking from behind.

Loki's first ability Vanish, makes him invisible, run faster = you can get behind your enemy, and get that passive going.

Ability nr. 2 = Decoy makes a dancing illusion, that taunts creeps, and even the two outer towers in Conquest mode. This makes him, and his laning partner, able to tower dive, even at lower levels.

Ability nr. 3 = Aimed Strike boosts his next basic attack. Doing this attack, together with Behind You! is 50 % of their health at early levels. Pretty overpowered if you ask us.

Ultimate Assassinate, is a area target. It means that you have to place your ulti, and make sure you hit some1 with it. If you manage to do that, you will give quite some damage, AND, you will stun your enemy, giving you time to use your Aimed Strike right after. This will in most cases, take down your opponent.

Pros / Cons

Pros
High utility
Great escape options
High burst damage
Awesome ganker.

Cons
Weak vs. stunners
In need of a good team, that can help you carry.
very squishy early game.

Gameplay

jungling/teamfights:

Early on your teammates should help you clear a few camps in the jungle. (make sure the 2nd camp is red buff camp).

After the red camp, this is what happens: You get to level 3, you gank mid. This is OUR way.

A little advice. When you gank, creeps will often do a lot of dmg on you or maybe the enemy god is stacking upon his creeps....this is annoying, and can be avoided. If you truly is brained, you will know what to do... Decoy, cast it a little away, but still close, so that creeps will run to it, and you are then free to kill your enemy.

There is different ways to jungle, we prefer to roam a lot. The first gank usually comes on mid at level 3. Make sure your mid doesn't push the lane, and you will have yourself an easy first blood. After that you just keep on roaming on the lanes, making sure all your teammates gets fed up.

Please notice, that Bumba's Mask is replaced later in the game!

This build makes Loki one hell of a nasty assassin. Our favorite item in this build is Hydra's Lament, if you can't see why...well, go play DoTa again! ;).

As Loki you have a very funny role from early-->mid-->late-game. During teamfights, you should come from the sides(not a hard job for a stealther), taking out their high-damage dealers, that always takes cover behind their tanks. You can also, find one of their gods in the jungle, and take them out fast, and even take their buffs.

During early/mid-game you should ALWAYS gank your mid/side-lanes, so all of your team gets an level advantage.

Your overall-role, is = Nuke the **** out of their carries/ Gank your *** off!

If the opposite team have a Ares, Hades, Anubis, or just any other AOE stunner/high damage outputter, you want to go with Aegis Amulet or Purification Beads. One of these, are in most cases a must-have!

Alternate building style

As an experienced Loki player, i'm always trying out new item builds and stuff for my fav. God.

I have, a few games in a row, bought these items.

Starting out with Bumba's Mask, Hand of the Gods 5 x Healing Potion & 3 x Mana Potion

As for 1st recall i get Devourer's Gloves. After this, you just go back when needed. Once you have Bloodforge (fully upg. ofc), i find myself able to take down Golden Fury, which boosts your entire team with gold.

This build is something i'm gonna try out a little more, it works great so far.

This build is more of a melee-carry build. The only reason i bought Hydra's Lament these few rounds, is because i got annoyed at the other teams Loki killing our Ra, so i bursted him within a second ^_^.

But, you can skip the Hydra's Lament with Focused Voidblade or whatever you might prefer as a last item, and nuke the sh*t out of people. Contact me if you need help :).

Although I'm not a Loki player, I can see the reasoning behind it. Tabi and Voidblade for the penetration, Hydra's for the burst, and Qin's for jungle sustain and the three quick follow-up slashes.

But you don't explain actives, you don't explain countercounterjungling, and your build lacks any variation, which can be a big mistake.

Overall, this guide is adequate. I award you a 4/10!

Hello. I know that it lacks details all-around, and there is actually an explanation.
Once i make a guide for a God, i don't just sit and use 3-4 hours making it.....no...I start it, and then have it on progress untill...well, always :). A guide can always be optimized, a new patch may come, you play vs different people...it's all about experience & playstyle.

For the "countercounterjungling", i simply can't write anything yet. I have not been in need of doing this, so i have no clue whatsoever.

I have to apologize tho, cuz', i have not been able to play Smite or optimize guides for quite some time, my work have been in my way because of Christmas, and that is the main reason why it...well sucks ^^..

I hope this explained just a little..

This build does not even at 75% entirely works really well. Only if you get fed by ganks at teh very begining of the match. Good attempt though. Ive just spent the last 24 hours trying to do this build and even adjustify it for clarification, theres no work around this and can be broken easily. Good try though.

I'm sorry that you did not find the guide "good". Although, kills early, is not essential for this build to work. If you find yourself in a position of not being able to get lane-kills, you simply must farm jungle, and still make the occasional ganks. As for the items, they are not what people would call a "regular build". Everybody can rush the usual adc/assassin build, which is items as Deathbringer, Rage and so on, but i've been trying to get out of the normal build, and make something more, exclusive.
I usually work on guides like every single day, but my job have made it impossible for me to even play Smite & correct guides for quite some time now.

I will look into it, even tho i do not entirely agree with you.

Thank you for your comment & time :).

Swap Fatalis for Void blade because the aura lowers your enemy's phys. protection and gives more sustain and damage.

i'd go Titan's bane instead of fatalis
But still good guide! +1

I've been playing Melee characters more in Smite than in DoTA or LoL merely because it's so much more fun! Being a Loki fan I wanted to give this God a try and I know where to start! Thanks!

The guide itsself is ok, I agree with the items since I make them aswell. Even though myself make frostbound hammer after fatalis.

I would suggest Thebes instead of Fatalis for more sustain. +1.
