Welcome to my build and quick guide on how to bring the dawn with one of my favorite tanks. Khepri isn't the strongest tank, or the fastest, but when used correctly he can stop any teams' attacks. Luckily, I will go over some of what makes Khepri an unstoppable team-fighter, and how to avoid show common mistakes with Khepri.
Pros
First off, let's discuss why going a hybrid build is best suited for Khepri's kit.
Speed and CC redux are some two of the most important things Khepri needs. Since he doesn't do a lot of damage, he needs to be agile and able to use his moves whenever he needs them. This will help you get off to a good start damage-wise, but will have to be used cautiously as no defense early can lead to an early death.
Here is the first item you want for defense. Health, mana, and stacking physical/magical protections make this item invaluable. Plus, getting this item early can help build stacks quickly and get high defense fast.
This is an interesting choice for some tanks. An all-damage item, one that I don't use on really any other tanks. Paired with Khepri's 1, however, and your enemy will begin to wonder how they are suddenly at half health.
This item actually has two uses, with the same result: keeping you safe from burst-attack physical gods and assassins. Not only will this give you decent physical protections, but it will slow down and weaken any physical gods near you, while giving you some attack speed for use later on.
Season 3 Bulwark of Hope is easily the best magical defense item in the game. The passive provides a large amount of long-lasting shield bolstered by Khepri's shield passive. Don't pass up on this lifesaver.
This is the item you've been waiting for. This is the item that shatters teams. This transforms Khepri from the Dawn Bringer, to the Rage Bringer. Equipped with an already fearsome CC kit, giving all of your moves a 25% slow, along with your ATK debuffs, will prevent unwanted attacking OR fleeing. This is when you win.
Khepri's skills are pretty straight forward, and on their own can't do much. It's when combined that enemies start to panic and wonder how a tank is doing this.
This move is Khepri's bread and butter. A decently strong hard CC move that doubles as an escape. You want to hit this when Soul Reaver is active and prepare to take some hits to the face. Paired with a max 2.3 sec drag, you can set up plenty of kills to build your stacks
Disguised as a lane clear, this move does better to reduce protections on slow (Gem of isolation). This move won't get you kills, but it will get you assists and the range on it can keep low-health enemies at bay.
Here is part two to your combo. A simple stun with damage lets you easily hit your 1 and stop retreating gods or initiate a fight.
Here is what makes Khepri shine (pun intended :D). A buff that turns into a teammate or self-revive. You have an ally who got a triple kill but died before the diecide? Bring him back and let the slaughter continue. Running away and teammate got trapped? Keep running as he floats toward you and revives right near you.
Early game
Starting off, Khepri needs to hang back and gain XP, while keeping the pressure off his lane partner. Initiating too early can leave Khepri vulnerable and dead. This time should used getting the build started, and once boots are finished then the fighting can begin.
If you have a teammate with CC, then hitting your Stun-and-1 can lead to an easy set-up for a Neith or Artemis. Try to single out targets by draining health with your 2, and then follow up with an assist to gain stacks.
Mid-game
Khepri gets interesting mid game, more power but unless you have built up 5+ stacks, you'll want to avoid fighting. He isn't as tanky as he looks yet, but he can still do a surprising amount of damage to an unsuspecting enemy.
Keep your friends close as you choose careful engagements, and pay attention to anyone who might need a quick revive. Seriously, your ult will decide games.
Late Game
A full build Khepri is a force to be reckoned with, but you shouldn't try to charge teams head on, as he only has one dash/escape move. Let your teammates draw aggro, and single out weaker, squishier gods for your teammates to switch focus to. Don't worry about chasing kills, Keep your teammates alive and your enemies fleeing back to base.
Khepri is a mobile tank with an untapped potential for damage and sustain. Given the right build, he can keep a steady stream of debuffs going, while occasionally doing large amounts of surprise damage and CC. He excels in setting up kills, and keeping the fight going, while being able to shake off whatever gets thrown at him. Don't forget to grab Sprint or Beads to supplement his weak mobility escapes, and you are on your way to bringing the Dawn.
