Hey, Welcome to my first Smite build guide!
Janus: God of Portals and Transitions.
Discover the legends and myths and religious beliefs surrounding Janus, the Roman god of He was the god of opposites - of exits and entrances, beginnings and endings and the guardian god of portals, doors, and gates. He was also guardian of the new year, and keeper of the calendar, from which the month January takes its name. He is always depicted as having two faces, and looks to the future and the past.
Janus brings a totally unique and fun kit to Smite, so the benefits and drawbacks of his play style are just as unique.
Pros:
Very Bursty, Insanely High Damage (Early, Mid, Late)
Incredibly Mobile
Supportive with Portals
Great Team Fights
Cons:
Squishy
Mana Hungry
Relies on abilities for damage, cc and escape.
Now let's discuss why this is a powerhouse build:
Book Of Thoth: We're going to start off with the stacks, Janus is going to need that extra mana at the beginning, Once you have this item and full stacks, you are no longer mana hungry.
Shoes Of Focus: Janus needs the +15% Cool Down Reduction and the +30 magical power.
Bancroft's Talon: From this item, Janus gets +100 magical damage and he gets some sustain from the life steal. Using your Vortex and doing a bunch of damage and heal up? That's like hitting two birds with one stone.
Chronos' Pendant: This provides that Janus gets maximum cool down reduction and a +75 magical damage, This provides Janus with his full cool down reducation, therefore he can begin spamming combos and getting the most out of it.
Obsidian Shard: This is a beautiful item for Janus this provides +33% more penetration and a +70 magical power, This is where he starts doing a serious amount of damage, Like INSANELY HIGH amount of damage.
Rod Of Tahuti: Now, This is the peanut butter to the jam for all mages, And Janus benefits a lot out of this, Not olny does he get +125 magical damage but he also gets increased magical power scaling by 25%.
Passive:
Janus' passive passages gives him 25% more magic scaling for the next cast when going through a portal or a threshold, although we will be using our portals for the skill combos, so we will use thresholds mainly for this passive bonus.
Portal:
We will be using portal with our combo attack mainly, unless needed to escape at certain times.
Unstable Vortex: This is Janus' most damaging ability, which is why it's important to get a guaranteed hit with it, which is why it's used along with portal for the combo attack explained later.
Threshold:
It's a nice handy little threshold, This will increase movement speed for anyone passing it, and it alters Janus' passive, which increases 25% more magic scaling for Janus' moves.
Through Space and Time:
This ability can be used two ways: support with portals or to damage enemies, although if used for damage, it can be extremely risky but if you have a good accuracy you can begin doing trick shots, snipes and no-scoping people from a range.
Threshold:
You will want to start off with your third skill, Why? This provides Janus and his team extra movement speed and magic power scaling by 25%.
Unstable Vortex:
You then want to hit an enemy with your Unstable Vortex, With this build completed you will pulverize or burst down almost any god you see.
Portal:
This ability is used to either engage or disengage, or place it down then to combo with your Vortex.
Through Time and Space:
You can use this great ability to either no-scope someone from a far, or give support to your allies to chase down the enemy.
Well that's it for this build, This build is a really great one, recommended to experienced Janus players, You will probably have fun dealing this tremendous amount of damage.
