Introduction

Hey guys, hows it goin?

I'm Crownife and this is my first ever guide on how to play Isis!

She's the god that I've gotten my first mastery with and I enjoy playing her in any game mode.

Build Explanation

Core Items

Cooldown reduction shoes because you can get penetration from

This also adds to your advantage early in the game to spam your stun for those important jungle ganks.
I get before . Mainly because you are building stacks and focusing on last hitting early game will help out later.

Life steal helps with survivability. ->

If you don't want to get , get instead. It provides lifesteal and gives you that aura that your teammates will love. Also, because all your attacks are AoE, with this item, you will own.

The reason is a situational item in this build is due to the fact that it gives you extra damage on your basic attacks, and in this specific build, I go for cooldown reduction to be able to spam my abilities. I would rather run beside the enemy and wait for my cooldown to finish rather than hit them with some basic attack and watch them run away.

One thing I started doing recently is getting right in the beginning of the game with a health pot to test how I would do against other middle lane gods. After which I continue building the core items. So far, the results are good.

Actives

This active is situational. If the enemy team has or , beads are a must. They cancel out crowd control skills, however, they are tricky to use in their first stage. If is pulling you, then make sure you pop it in the last second.
I find Aegis Pendant to be one of the important actives to have on Isis. Depending on your situation, go for either tier 1 or tier 3. It is a counter to and to keep you alive in crucial situations.
If the game you're in requires no beads or aegis, consider sprint or blink.
This helps with chasing down enemies, eluding them, and even making that last attempt to save your tower. However, I would still recommend aegis if you don't already have it.
Combat blink is similar to greater sprint, except it's an instant teleport. In addition, any of the blink actives allow you to position yourself for a stun.

Pros/Cons

Pros

+ Magic Power Scales like crazy
+ Circle of Protection is great to counter AOE Ultimates
+ Isis will kill your enemies

Cons
- All skills require practice at predicting enemy movements
- You will be the primary focus for the enemy team
- Timing is everything, especially for Spirit Ball

Skill Breakdown

(Aura Radius - 30 | Death Witness Radius - 80)
Gives a bonus HP5 and MP5 for every death Isis witnesses, with a max stack of 10.
The stacks reset upon death.

Increases movement speed while attacking 4 times.

Wing Gust

Fires a bright sphere in a line allowing you to activate the skill a second time to explode and stun the enemy.

Spirit Ball

Pretty much your life saver. It silences and slows the enemy.
In addition it steals magical protection and gives it to allies who are affected by Funeral Rites

Dispel Magic

(Radius of 30)
Isis plants her staff creating a circle of protection, giving allies 15% damage reduction.
It has 4 different charging stages, each one with a different damage and a healing multiplier. Enemies that take damage within the circle provide help charge up the circle.

Playstyle

The basic way of using your skills is to start off with dispel magic, then spirit ball and finally wing gust. If you find your opponent running away with low health, drop circle of protection and explode it right before your enemy leaves.

So basically, it looks like this.

There's also the two main ways of going about in middle lane.

Aggressively and Defensively

This is where the saying "The best defense is a good offense" comes out.

When fighting a god that you're unfamiliar with, I suggest playing defensively.
This lets you study how they play so you end up in the best position possible.
Get some wards too so you can escape jungle ganks.

Tower Diving

Make sure your enemy is low on HP. Usually around 20%, this damage you can easily do assuming you land spirit ball and wing gust. Here's a quick video of what it looks like.

Tower Diving

Ganking Lanes

When to gank?
+ When the enemy is pushing your teammates hard.
+ Someone from the side lane is low on HP ~40%
+ Make sure your spirit ball is up!

When not to gank?
- If more than 2 gods are missing
- Do not gank a tank unless someone is helping you

Take a look at the video in the spoiler for some ideas on how and when to gank.

Ganking Lanes

Dealing with Foes

+ Avoid being hit by his tornadoes Especially in early game.
+ When he goes for squall, hit him with
+ Do not panic when you see his ultimate spirit's tempest, walk to the side and avoid it. I suggest walking/running backwards when you see this.

Isis vs Ao Kuang

+ is easy to avoid, make sure you keep your distance
+ It is pretty easy for Ra to land
+ When you see Ra glowing, book it. diving light slows you and damages you.
+ Use when you see Ra using his ultimate

Isis vs Ra

+ Do not get too close to the turret and try to hit it when it's distracted by minions.
+ When you see , avoid it or position yourself to be bumped further from Vulcan.
+ If you see him ulti have wing gust ready to leave the AOE.

Isis vs Vulcan

+ is really easy to see and avoid.
+ similar to Ra`s , you will get hit, just try to get out of it ASAP.
+ The ultimate is hard to dodge , instant damage, best case scenario would be to drop

Isis vs Poseidon

Warding

Solo/Duo

Harpies

Golden Fury/Fire Giant

General Warding/End Game

Falling Behind?

No worries.

If you died...

Once - ask jungle for help
Twice - stay by the tower and buy wards

More than twice - Start building a protection item
Buy either or

Feeding - Farm where there are no players. Only participate in team fights

Your videos of the different mid-lane matchups and the info graphics you provide on warding add a lot to your well-thought-out guide.

The idea of running Ward Stone, however, doesn't seem viable. It's too expensive of an item, and missing out on MP5 or mana is too much of a sacrifice with a god being as insatiable as Isis.

Going for Book or Doom Orb early is fine though. The lower ranks of both these items provide plenty of mana especially in combination with Vampiric Shroud. Going lifesteal first might also work.

I agree with what Greenevers said above. I like your way of describing things, it seems very effortlessly simple. So that any newbie wanting to play Isis can learn without trying to deal with too much terminology. Upvoted.

This guide is actually pretty good. Despite it being short, you have it compact with enough info and videos. If the videos are made by you, that's impressive! And btw really nice gifs, mind PMing me how to save me the headache later?

Guide doesn't look absolutely stunning, but just right. Also, the items and skill order is right on.

Main thing you have to work on is skill descriptions along with skill combos and just general info about the skills. I feel this is one of the most important parts of a guide.

I give this a 6/10, mainly because of missing info but I'll give you an upvote since it seems like you've put some good work into it.

The guide is WIP i guess, it misses a lot of sections as gameplay and skills (i mean, a section that actually talks about a skill and not a short description).
Items also need more explanation and you should clarify at which situation you should go for x and y item.
I would always consider buying an Aegis Amulet and a Breastplate of Valor, i would probably get Rod of Tahuti as one of my last items, but that depends.
Keep doing more matchups, they help a lot!!
Gifs and videos are an amazing ideia, GJ.
Now, you have some light bbcoding in this guide, yet, i do thinks it is beautiful, clean and enjoyable, i would not change much about that, IMO!!
The thing now is not stop improving and search for stuff to work at.
Not voting yet, but keep working hard!!
